http://www.science.gov/ oh yeah, forgot about http://www.nature.com

i guess that it depends on where you set the bar. maybe i'm raising my bar a bit too high when i think AI should be equivalent or better than humans, or at least kind of like in the matrix.
-
nah among others, i like the warning on those cake in a box thingies where on the bottom(opposite side of) of the box it tells you: Not to flip the box over.
-
i suppose it will either create a new partition or else you'll need to use a 2nd hdd.

did you see the post #19? it may be more appropriate

Investigation of gain, distance, angular–frequency characteristics(responses) of (too many of's) and midlatitude ionospheric paths has been carried out. This work contains experimentally obtained characteristics and ones from simulation modeling of propagation processes on radio paths used in experiments. Comparative analysis of real and model characteristic has been done. In this work a new technique for calculating angular-frequency characteristic from distance-frequency characteristic is developed and implemented. The developed method has been tested using direct measurements of angle-of-arrival. -------------- this is much better.

Alcohol and Memory Loss

unlikely. although it sometimes might come up in pieces after a while. the shutdown is most likely due to an over stimulation of neurons. -
oops, didn't realize i did that. but i also see your point, and yield

lol, how did you do that?

The purpose of the work was investigation of different characteristics(gain-frequency characteristic, angle-frequency characteristic, distance-frequency characteristic) of ionospheric radiochannel. -too many of's (excluding paranthesis) Experiments had been carried out on different paths of propagation, on different routes of propagation I don’t know what is the proper name for it. -too many of's. can you rephrase [routes of propagation] to say [propagation routes]? if yes, then it would sound much better. Paper contains results (of) for these experiments and results of simulation modeling of these experiments with use of our model based on IRI-2001(international reference ionosphere). -too many of's and too many results. rewrite the above sentence. (So) The purpose of modeling was to compute all these characteristics and then compare with experimental results. (Then) We can conclude that our model works fine . (And at last) Lastly, we develop new technique of calculation angular-frequency characteristic from distance-frequency characteristic and test this technique for correctness.

hang on........

no while i've never dug further into the whole safemode thing, it may be no more than a simple batch file or something. but still, safemode in xp is still somehow connected to windows and you can't have one w/o at least partially initializing the other.
-
lets give that a try, eh?

i thought it was a google translation since it's in Russian, wait a few hours till YT2095 comes in and he'll be able to help. it might be easier if he can read this stuff in original russian and then translate, then trying to rearrange this stuff.
-
that is horrible. you'll need to rewrite whole thing for it to make any sense.

poor marketing, not very robust system, and sometimes people or companies will limit their scope to a certain population or idea, etc

well, in the case of Windows 98, let's say, dos is and can be considered it's own OS. therefore if you have any, you can run many programs w/o ever loading or installing windows on the computer. the dos-emulation - aka. command prompt in Windows XP or 2000, is not and can not do any of the above mentioned things.
-
well' date=' there you go, you now have me confused. dos is obsolete. that's why those who are still using Windows 95/98/ME are urged to Upgrade. Dos and Mac(i presume you mean Mac OS as opposed to Mac the computer) are apples and oranges. and what are these [b']ads[/b] you speak of? err, unless you're talking about back in the day? then what dave said. mac's or apple at the time were not as robust and anal in many respects. so microsoft or bill gates rather, ripped the GUI idea from mac os(steve jobs) improved it, and with some extra aggressive marketing and monopoly, they were able to leave apple in the dust. apple(or macs these days) as a company almost bit the bullet a few times, in some cases it was pure luck that they were able to survive. {edit} also, unix goes back far longer than macs or dos/windows. so for lots of people, the ms-dos was not a very difficult transition to make.

lol, how did this moved from talking about seduction by an underage girl to chopping chickens and dogs?
-
i'm kind of divided on this issue. basically, if the testing done has a purpose to help find a cure or ease someone's biological or physiological problems, then it's all fine. but if it's done for the purpose of sex appeal, say cosmetics, shampoo, etc then it's wrong.

don't worry, as he said in post # 45

'tis not the system's fault, but the user's. trust me. QWhat are points? http://www.grid.org/help/faq_points.htm Your PC contribution is shown in three measures-points, total CPU time and results returned. The term "points" is simply used as a way of measuring the amount of computation your PC has contributed. If your PC works for three days on one work unit, or in those same three days completes 5 work units, you will accumulate the same number of points assuming that your PC worked at about the same level of effort in each scenario. by the way, my 1 pc running seti@home has not been off for more than a few minutes(damn restarts) for more than 2 months now. i've stopped running seti@home a few years back and they scrapped my data, damnit, i had more then 3k data packets completed, now i'm back to 100 my ud agent, i haven't ran ud agent in a while now, but the last time i did, it ran ud calculations nonstop for a year.

A New Theory for the Origins of Life
admiral_ju00 replied to a topic in Evolution, Morphology and Exobiology
all or most of this sounds very very close to a book i read a while ago. tell me, did you come up with all this stuff on your own or did you simply rip that out of the book? -
well, there's the Bonzai Buddy but, realistically, AI is wrong and unattainable on so many levels. by the way, research on AI is done by Microsoft's scientists and various others
