damn, glider beat me to this i was going to say that there is a difference between a clinical depression one where the is a chemical imbalance in the brain(which doesn't sound like you have) and a self-induced(or self-declared/decided) depression which is what you get for thinking all that negative stuff(wait a minute, i do that all the time as well )

A: The same one that's been buggin' me for years now. Why do we have so much junk DNA and what purpose does it all serve in the genome. Q: What do you think about ExtraSense and his Berry-Fruits on mars? -

We need to set new rules on debates

uhm, hey mooey, you weren't thinking of me as one of those to whom you dedicated this thread, or were you? -
Not really. Anthropology is broken up into 4 major cattegories: Linguistic Anth. Biological(Physical) Anth. Archaeology - This is bones(human and primate) and ancient civilization. Cultural Anth. You're thinking of Paleontology(any fossils, but this field is mostly famous for Dinasour fossils) which is very closely related, but it's under the umbrella of Geology not Anthropology dunno about england, not from there, but shouldn't be any difference then here in USA, so yeah. it may be best for you to check on this with your local university because in a hospital there would be very little room for error and they'll probably require some experience.

this is rather vague and probably you won't get a better answer then the one above w/o a further distinction. but as said above me, there are many fields that you can go, obviously a teacher(BS), professor(Ph.D) of science the 1st thing that come to mind to anybody. but many fields overlap and interlap and somethings make no sence. for example, a geologist may not only teach college/university, but also go and spend his/her life doing research or diggin' fossils. or he/she can go and work for an oil company and help them figure out the next best place to dig. i've know quite a few paleontologists who did that, well, not personally. also, economy and economists are scientists. then there are the psychologists, medical doctors, biologists, etc. you can work for a state/government in many fields including anthropology, etc. one of the very new degree programs that has just oppend up in my university is Forensic Anthropology (can work for/with morticians, police, fbi, or anybody else that require the services of a forensic scientist, etc) - mmm, yammy (i think i'll just stick to biological anthropology, but thanks anyway ) ....... they also publish books and review books and research, etc. physicists may help design new weapons or technological marvels, etc. the fields of study and careers are limitless. also answer this, are you thinking in terms of Science or Profits? some scientists started their own corporations only to then relinquish control of them and go back to study/research/teach because of their love of science and not political beuracrassy or business, etc. once again, for a better answer, state what interests you the most and you'll get a much better answer

i have no love of math and probably will never understand your passion or commitment to mathematics or what attracts you to it, but that's for a whole new debate/discussion

well, i'm open to new ideas as long as they are within the bounds of science, so let's explore this idea a bit further. chlorophyl is what gives the plants and other single celled organisms their distints green hues. also, when you said what you did in post #7, were you thinking of :only for the looks or fully functional things? if only for the looks, then (assuming this is possible and worthy) you'll have animals with green or greenish skin or a gradation between the mixing reds and blues together. if you were thinking of having fully functional chlorophyls and chloroplasts then it would mean a major reconstruction of the animal cells as we now know it. all or most of the cells will have to be completely reconstructed as there are things and organnels that animal cells have but not plants and vise-versa. which also mean that in addition to a normal(animal) cell respiration it will also perform photosynthetic(photon based) respiration. that means these new cells must be able to in addition to the normal (animal) cell functions be able to take in the sun light, convert it to chemicals that stimulate chloroplasts, etc. then it must also take in the CO2 and water(and that would mean that each cell store a descent amount of water(which mean that each cell may be much bigger and more rigidly structured, etc) in order to be able to manufacture sugar and then it must somehow release the waiste(in this case the O2), etc. so in the end, you'll and up with an animal that can get nutrients not only from eating but also from photons, it'll have a green skin (or any other possible gradation of mixing the warm and cool colours). then it will not only take in O2 for it's regular respiration(in this case breathing) but also CO2 and release both CO2 and O2 as waiste byproducts...... in the end, what do you end up and what will this be classifyed is a very good question hmmm

or maybe you didn't leave enough time for someone to find this question and answer?
-
yeah, that's what i'd like to know as well.
-
what are you talking about? i can't get to that linky because of the security on my company's computers and really can't wait 'till i get home to check it out. .......

i'm in a process of making one myself and though someone else might want the info. the most expensive thing you'll require are the mirrors, but everything else is pretty cheap. http://members.aol.com/sfsidewalk/dobplans.htm

i thought they discovered about 110 or 120 of such things?
-
lol, did you know, there was another research which linked Bugs Bunny to a Cross-Dressing Bisexual or was it homosexual (anyway, don't remember the details)?
-
you know the latest research is saying that if a child under the age of two (after 3 is ok, i believe they said) watches an hour worth of TV or anything else were there's rapid motion change, there's a 10% chance they will develop ADD or ADHD? so for every hour watched, it's 10% more likelyhood of developing it faster. so now off i go to try and find the linky for this research. oh i forgot if this research is being conducted by neuroscientists or sociologists(probably the prior than the later thou). {edit: found some } http://www.limitv.org/tvaddadhd.htm http://www.mindfully.org/Health/2004/ADHD-TV-Link5apr04.htm

Creationism Vs. Evolution & Big Bang
admiral_ju00 replied to NavajoEverclear's topic in Other Sciences
you're right. while it's not something i'll (probably ever) embrace, but: Science is a tool Religion is a tool so a more informative desicion would stem from a combination of both of these. using science and religion in combination may give one answers to some hard questions that may arise. while science generates lots and lots of practical knowledge and info in general, there are some questions that science simply can't answer. i just don't ponder the type of questions or issues that would require me to turn to religious or other paranormal phenomena. -
my chemistry is a bit laggy, but let me try. 1) Is Covalent compound is compound? Yes 2) Is ion a compound or element? Element 3) If ion is a not a compound, then why is polyatomic ion a covalent compound? Poly - more then 1 element, in this case it's is polar (charged) and share electrons

rofl, i expected a thread like this would be directed towards me than anybody else who're replyed in his other thread??? how ironic, rofl. -
plant cells have chlorophyll and chloroplasts. and no, anymal cells don't have any of the above because they don't do photosynthesis.
