There's a reason why I like this forum. However, since I work nights and usually this place gets pretty quiet, I need to find other things to do. I decided to give a closer look to the sciforums and came up on this thread. http://sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=37555 The majority of it is well, ludicrous.

Oh my. What happened to that Indian(or Canadian Actress if I recall) girl? That one Rocked! By the way, I have no other comments on the movie as I've never even heard of it 'till now. Sry. {edit} I have heard of it, but I will never watch it.

Speacking of which, I know many of you guys recommend Brian Greene's Elegant Universe book, but any thoughts on his The Fabric of the Cosmos?

Why does sweat smell differently in different parts of your body?

Don't I know it, however, I was talking about passing the blood-brain barrier to be specific since it was mentioned in the thread. -

True, although some viruses can pass it. Then again, virus is not considered 'alive' -
Just picked up a copy of this today. {edit} damn, that was too big. sry.

Uhm, so does this mean that you DO see something wrong with it?

Wrong. San Francisco, Cali is the 1st

Tell us how and when you came across science forums

I'm just curious, but where's your responce? -- For myself, I was a member of 6 other forums. All of them were automotive. Eventually there became a point where I was sick of the constantly overused and abused racing/rice_burner/political stories/jokes and decided to look for something I find more pleasurable: Science. This site wasn't too terribly difficult to find, although it was the Only good one I found at the time. Now since a few members have posted other decent forums linkys(i believe physicsforums.net and sciforums.com are some of the more promising) I'm addicted to this. Mainly due that the physics forum is well, mainly Physics, and sciforums.com is a cluster**** for the lack of a better word. While I like how both of the above said forums have a section for Anthropology/Archaeology, the majority of the issues/threads there are craptastic. I'll just stick around here for a while. Hopefully someday, there may be a need for the mods of this forum to add an Anthropology section, but at this time, there is really no need for that(discounting the typically once-a-month new thread on human evolution of some slight variation than is already posted). -
Yep, you're right.

I forget the exact number, but somewhere between 100-200 species of bacteria or other organisms live in or on you, in almost every place that you can imagine, you have something there. -
If you clone a human being(and assuming that we have the technology to create these clone with no problems to their physiological or psychological state), then treat him/her the same way as you would treat yourself - meaning to kill the clone would be unethical. However if you create a clone but it dies due to the process or for some other odd reason, then an autopsy to determine what happened, would and should be quite alright. However if you can specifically grow organs and other kinds of tissue, that you can use for transplants, then that's a whole other story.

That is part of the problem you have there. Small area. All are religious. All(or most people) know each other. She's more then enough for me(sometimes I think I was insane for getting married at 20, but that's a whole other story) She's quite alright with me watching that stuff and usually joins me. Sometimes she encourages me to watch that stuff(mainly during that uhm 'special' week each month). Most couples I know, do watch some kind of pornography every once in a while and in most cases it seems to strengthen their relationship. (None of this is counting the movies/shows you see on like HBO or DVD's : eg: Eyes Wide Shut) Historically, I've never had problems where my female companion had a problem with this kind of stuff. Like I said in one of the threads here somewhere that one of my girlfriends was bisexual.

I've caught Cowboy Bebop on tv a few times and the experience of it was craptastic, I'm afraid. Akira was a bit better but still sucked IMO. Ranma 1/2 was much better(although I've only seen one episode of that) Anything else that you find is very good out there?
-
Well, I Have been married for the past 4 years.....Does that count for the "human" interraction? Anime and Hentai are still cool
-
'till recently, I only watched Hentai. Is that any good?

Think about it in terms of numbers. When someone looks at this forum and sees that it has 3,000 members, and they will most likely be interested in registering(not knowing the actual number of the total active users). But if someone finds a forum with say 50 people(assuming that all are active) then that might deter them from going there. It's always (or at least usually) better to go where the crowds are bigger

Well, there's the 3D chess. http://www.3dchessfederation.com/index.htm {edit} Oh and by the way, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the traditional chess
-
I've never played his style(didn't see the need to as even most chess tourneys follow standard rules), but here you go: http://www.chessvariants.com/diffsetup.dir/fischer.html

I'm sorry. Why did it make you angry? I just threw it down as I thought it was funny.

One thing that I got to comment from that Faf's thread is on this: Kind of reminds me of this guy: http://..... <-- listen to this if you have a spare 30 min but it's funny as hell Lol Lol ROFL

Would a probe like the Viking or Cassini have enough juice and power to rip or alter an object of say Chiron's proportions out of it's current orbit and push it towards saturn? If not, how many such items will be needed?
