    Science

I think there should be more of an emphasis on science in school. Math is rightfully taught everyday, core (english, history, geography) two periods everyday (at least at my school, I assume other schools are fairly similar) but science is taught only 4/5 days of the week.
  2. There was that "man in the moon" thing little while back, everything thought the face was an alien sign, and look what it turned out to be.
  3. Hmmmmm, I wonder if it could occur on a larger scale like two similar planets. The human form is a rather good, but there are numerous possible improvements.
  4. The public library in my town sadly does not allow people to check out more than three books of the same subject at a time. And much that I want to take out sadly resides in residence.
  5. I think the data should be used. Then at least those people will not have died completly in vain.
  6. What is the probability of paralell evolution? Just is science fiction?
  7. Must.....resist....ranting about gay marriage debate...... Just let them marry. Why on earth is this such a big deal? As developed countries, we do not limit marriage to JUST white people or JUST christian people (examples only) so why the hell do people have problems with homosexuals getting married?? The sanctity of marriage???? About 50% of straight marriages end in separation, divorce, etc......
  8. This sect has a book too. "....after reading this book......you will see how paradise can be acheived through human cloning......." I don't believe it. They didn't back their claims up by any evidence, and if you really wanted to "protect the mother" you wouldn't announce the fact that you'd cloned a human!
  9. It depends on what you want and what you're interested in. I would suggest, as you have asserted your intelligence, you follow your interests and not what will "get you far". If you are interested and good in a field of science, you will go far regardless of the field.

    Greetings

Greetings, Earthlings! I am the_creature_of_the_lair (or creature for short). I have just joined scienceforums and I have to say first of all that I am very impressed. My favourite field of science is cosmology/astronomy, however I'm interested in all fields. Debating is the sport at which I have attained some proficiency. I do not trust I.Q. tests. The reason? For the past year I have been conducting a pseudo-experiment. I have taken many I.Q. tests. My range was huge: 104-163. That's anywhere from average to genius. Then again, there are a lot of things I do not trust, being a cynical person. I'm still navigating these forums, so if there is place this little introduction was supposed to go, feel free to move it. My thanks.
