  1. There is a new article that is begging me to change my answer from a dolphin to a chimp. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070222/sc_nm/chimps_hunting_dc In this article, researches have now seen female chimps use spears to hunt Bush Babies. Anyone else care to change their minds?
  2. If someone could positively answer all of those questions, they would be pretty rich and pretty famous. The only one that can be answered, maybe, is "How did the scientists figured it out?" There is a great documentary on 'Brilliant Minds' airing right now about Galileo, Newton, Einstein, and Hawking. It took a lot more than just them, but they talk alot about how their work was completed. Believe it or not, the greatest minds worked mostly in their heads, had extreme abilities to focus and see in pictures. They figured out what we do know (think we know) by observing fundamental laws of nature. This can especially be said about Galileo and Newton. Einstein and Hawking probably did/do this in their head. Black holes are real and are becoming better understood every day, but to explain them would require some theoretical comments. I don't know man, read what you can and start small. Oh, and don't be afraid to challenge anything.
  3. Definitely interested, and I do believe Einstein will be smiling somewhere. I'm not expecting any breakthroughs, but they usually happen when people are not anticipating one.
  4. If you believe in Einstein's theory of relativity, gravity is not like a photon or a beam of photons, but instead is more like a depression in the fabric of space - if I understand correctly. I believe this to be true, so I think that if you could turn off a switch which made Earth suddenly have no gravity, a chain reaction would occur that would probably ripple through space since all objects of mass exert force on each other. I think we see that as mass is converted to energy too in star life. As star mass dissipates, the star grows due to less gravity keeping the fusion process constrained, then they die in a bang as the fusion reactions stop and gravity forces and implosion. I think anyways?
  5. I don't know, it is hard not to weight this question on where each animal lives, but I may go with a Dolphin because they hunt together in ways that are highly intelligent.; such as, herding school fish onto shore then exiting the ocean to eat. They do the same for humans when trained. Their list of abilities are pretty lengthy and amazing. That said, I think the most interesting animal to watch might be the ant. Despite an obvious low ranking in intellect, their ability to set up near-government like colonies and manage their own population by determining sexes etc... Well, us humans don't even do that very well.
  6. Hi all, I'm new here. I thought Einstein more or less proved that time exists and that it may be the fourth dimension. If you have any love for Occam's Razor theory, isn't it logical to say that if information can move along the 3rd Dimension, couldn't it move along the 4th? Anyways, I'm a huge science fan, yet I know next to nothing. Hope to learn form you all.
