noz92, just for advice... I think you are not sure what programming language you want to learn, because you don't know what are their advantages.... C++ is denefinately the most important, because it is powerful, and its program runs fast, but it is not as easy as you may think as a beginner. If you just want to play around with programming, learning visual basic would be fine, since it is pretty easy to learn, but I wouldn't bother to use it, because it is not object oriented, and it develops bad programming habits, that is why it is easy to learn... I would recommand you to learn python first, then C++, because python is easier to learn and has most of all the features C++ has, I think. and probably you know about linux, right? try to avoid Microsoft's programming language, if you dont want to stick to Windows forever..... regards

I dont see any difference between Open-Source JAVA interpreters and Sun's one.... Some say "Sun's reference implementation is still proprietary", but doesn't java provide the source code of the whole library in the folder where SDK is situated?? Unless I missunderstand the word "reference implementation"... Any help?? thx Albert

ah... I think it is more of a problem of my file (the way I made the model) than the hardware and OS actually, because I have used max for a while for modelling and never see this kind of disaster... Besides, I dont think Max has a linux version..... Any way, thx Sayonara for ur respond Any more people can help?? thx Albert

http://s20.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3OE6EUUNOVNWL3752VSIRWF7YR Above is a link to a .max model I made.... the poblem is, why that file slows down the operating speed of the 3ds max? It is pretty unusual, because that file is just less than 1 meba byte, which is usually pretty fast for my computer to run The most obssessive part is that it takes like hours to do a quick rendering before I feel really anoyed and shut down the computer.... Can any one plz see my file and point out where is the problem?? thx a million for ANY help! ps. my computer is a p4 1.7 GHZ with 630 MB of RAM

by the way, what are "putative" embryotic stem cells?? Albert
-
oh, thanks Skye!! so is there any other way of extracting stem cells?? apart from embryo?? and secondly, say, if I got defection on pancrea, do the stem cells have to be same DNA as my cells??? if so, how can scientists do that?? Albert
-
ps, those quotes are what I found difficult to understand in a biology book.... Could any one explain according to the prev. post?? thx alot Albert
-
"Most of the existing human ES cell lines in the world were deived fom unused embryos created for couples seeking in vitro fertilization" what do the "lines" mean??? and what vitro fertilization?? "Another way to test putative ES cells is to mark them, then inject them into a developing animal embryo" How do the scientists make the stem cells??? Can any one help?? thx Albert

It is a sitecom wireless PCMCIA card.... I know somewhere in the Mandrake website, where people report on whether Mandrake is compatible with their hardware, but since Mandrake knows what they actually "attach" to their kernel, what's the point of testing other hardware?? isn't it sensible that others will be incompatible?? Albert
-
I have a simple question, I have a wireless usb device, and the brand never designs a driver for it, but why it can still work under Linux os?? Is there something that Linux can actually "detect" the hardware and make a configuration for it?? Albert
-
if you go to jxos.org, you will se they actually make an OS out of Java... How could that be?? using java to create an os??? since Java does not allow the progammer to reach the memory, how is the above can be done??? by the way, how do they make drivers??? Albert

I have searched the Internet for a while, and all I got is biasing in two extremes... 1) Anti-animaltesting people said animal testing is very poductive since it does not give out accurate result as the animals have different physiological effects 2) For-animaltesting people said vivisection saves millions of lives and so on, but does not tell how they manage or know about the accuracy..... To what extent do we use animal testing for nowadays??? are they accurate?? how?? For cosmetics and drugs, what is the accurate point of testing those on animals?? Albert

HOH,,, Please assume I am not a guy who WANTS to know technical details, , but who wants to have light reading on them with general ideas and details.... so, thx to badchad any way, but I am looking for, no simple than this, easier ones... Any body? Albert
-
Oh, yes I am esp interesting in genetic interesting, so if the website is related to it in terms of accuracy to human, it will be grateful! Albert
-
Some of you might know I ask similar question under the thread of Animal testing, right or wrong... but I since I think probably it is well off that topic, so I start another thread Ok, here is the question, Indeed scientists do test cosmetics and medicines on animals, but how do they determine whether it will be accurate result??? Some ppl say Animal testing does save alot of life, on cotradictory, some said it does not obtain you a reliable result So, from an scientific point of view, is there any info on Internet could tell about the accuracy potential in animal testing controlled by scientists??? thx alot for ANY respond Albert
-
In addition to that, I would like to know two things: 1) Do scientists still test medicines/drugs on animals??? what is the extent of the value of the result?? How do we know it is accurate??? 2) If we don't test drugs/medicines/cosmetics on animals, how do scientists test them? Albert

About the discovery of momentum and force...
albertlee replied to albertlee's topic in Classical Physics
Ok, so how does Newton discover force and momentum and their proper definition??? through discovery and experimenting?? back then there was no spaceship, how did he discover such things that would not or rarely happen on Earth?? Albert
