  1. fo my second post, it is this: In Netherlands, an employee can be idle if he/she feels unconfortable, even if it is not physical, fo eg, metal stress.... and the company still has to pay the slalary, if it refuses, the employee often get mad and sew the company, and much more often, the company looses.... The idea yielded as the time passes is their interpretion of "equality", give you an idea, when post a job offer on NewsPaper, you could only give the information refering to the job, you are not allowed to say what do you want your employee to be, for eg, age range, female or male, height,...etc..., otherwise you will be considered disrespecting other people.... Dude, is Dutch government Robin Hood??! ps, I have been in Netherlands for 2 yrs with my parents working in their company, and often heard them discussing this kind of issue with their collegues to friends
  2. We all know that momentum and force is related particularly but when it comes to reality, how can we set up an experiment that shows force, momentum, and acceleration, that is practical enough to be calculated and experimented??? I mean, there is friction, air resistance all over on Earth... It comes to me that those ideas become so theoretical rather than practical Any help?/ Albert
  3. drug testing??? isn't that going to be inaccurate when trying on animals??? by the way, how are some drugs tested if not on animals?? because we know that not all drugs were tested on animals right?? how about things like shampoo?? what does it test upon??? human?? Albert
  4. And by the way, are we part of theory of evolution when we are actually exploiting animals to strengthen our species??ie, the stronger one survive, and the weaker one perish?? Can the theory of evolution explain something about animal testing??? thx, oh, and by the way, plz answer my previous post, thx Albert
  5. Any body can help on my previous post???
  6. by the way, I hate all socialist countries... because it seems employees are actually the boss of a company, why we cant fire people at wish??? Secondly, I use to hate Communist countries as well, but it seems China is a really tricky case.... They dont have such high tax like in Europe... The boss of a company actually "obtains" more potential on his/her ownership,.... Every one has to struggle their way out on all kinds of jobs to earn money,....., but any way, I still detest all Chinese Communists........ Albert
  7. US is indeed a capitalist country, and I love all capitalist countries... how about Europe?? is UK a capitalist country?? Germany, Netherlands, France, ??? I got a strong impression that Europe often put on so much tax on rich people, restricting the flexibility on investiment.... I think if I am poor, I would choose to live in Europe, to get pensions.. if I am rich, I would choose to live in America, to spend money on many wonderful things..... Albert
  8. What are animal cloning used for??? if not for reproductive cloning, I dont see there isn't any reason for that... For medical purpose, isn't it all scientists on this extent focusing on human stem cells??? Albert
  9. so, if we leave an ethanoic acid alone, it will be more acidic as the time passes??? because at any instant time, there are some ethonoic acid being ionised?? Albert
  10. God, we can write a book out of this thread Any way, I am confused by you guys talking.... Some of you said that animal testing indeed saves millions of lives, but on the contary, some said that it isn't accurate enough, because they have different physiology...... So, how can an inaccurate test on for eg, medicine save millions of lives???? Secondly, a topic like cloning, why do we examine this unsophisticated-still technology on animals first instead of human??? if it is not going to be accurate, why do we continue, which could be very unprdoctive?? Albert
  11. Eh,... so, what's the answer to my question???
  12. As Glided said, there is no limit in memory... so if some one has a good memory, it actually means his/her brain can keep the traces longer than ordinary people.... but does that indicate our brain's intellegence??? or what makes some one more intellegent in terms of their brain?? Albert
  13. Once the ethanoic acid is ionized, at any instant time, the cations and anions should be overwhemingly attracted by the partial charges of H2O....., hence could those ions, at any instant time, form back to molecular form?? Albert
  14. is the molecule of ch3cooh non-polar???
  15. Personally, I feel testing on humans is more expensive than animals, because a failure in an experiment means a human is used up.... Some testing such as xenotransplantation and cloning is done on animals because they are less expensive, and complex Albert
  16. I cant figure out the meaning of dissolution and dilute solutions, but any way, is the molecule of ch3cooh non-polar??? Albert
  17. but the there are huge amount of partially positive and partially negative ends from water molecule, which could overcome the forces of CH3COO- and H+ to dissociate them, thus how could those ions asscociate with each other??? it should cost more energy to be stable, right??? Albert
  18. Ok, for that question, first of all, find the area of the hexagon.... first find the length of 1 side of hexagon, which is root(8) or 2*root(2) the area of the hexagon will be [root(2)*root(6)]*6, which is = root(12)*6 or 2*root(3)*6 which is 12*root(3) Can you follow the above? Then, Think about how many sides there will be, 7, right??? the cube has 6 sides, plus a side of a plane cutting through, you can "visualize" in my picture now you have already known the area of hexagon, so 6 sides left Let's start with, what's the area of 1 red triangle???? area of 1 red triangle is 2 and how many red triangles are there??? 3, so the area of 3 of them is 6 now we have 3 sides left, the other 3 sides are all equaled, which 1 of them has an area of square subtracted by the blue triangle, which is same area of the red triangle, so, the side of the cube is 4*4=16, 3 of them is 48, subtracting 3 triangles so is 48-6 = 42 now the total surface area is the total of numbers in bold, ie, the answer is: [12*root(3)]+6+42, which should be approximately 69, I guess. Does that help?? Albert
  19. thx!!!
  20. mak10??? Or any one can help??? thx
  21. Not closest to 16, but it is exactly 16!!! The solution is: 1) Call the center of XY, O 2) We know that QP = RS, hence the angle, QOP = ROS, therefore, PO = OS 3) from 2), we know the radius is QO or RO, and we also know that PS = 28, and RS = 12, so according to Pytha. theorem, RO = root(144+196) = root(340) = radius 4) now parameterize TU = x, which equals to SV, we know that OS = 14, ie, half of PS, so OV = 14 + x 5) we know the radius is root(340), using pytha. theorem again, that 340 = x2 + (x+14)2 6) now rearange 5), we get the quadratic, x2 + 14x - 72, and its factorized form will be (x+18)(x-4) 7) x could either be -18 or 4, -18 is not possible, because we cant have a side of square being negative, ie, it is not a vector quantity, so 4 is the answer for x 8) Finally....... 4*4 = 16!!!!! Does that help??? Albert
  22. For a simple example, when Mg in HCl, it realeases heat, hence the forward reaction is exothermic...... but why, when raising the temperature, the forward reaction goes even faster??? Albert
  23. What do you mean by its electrode potential and chemical reaction's forte???? How does it happen??? a positive ion should be bonded with a negative ion..... so there should be equaled amount of positive ion and negative ion.... Why does H and coo has to be written together??? there are only two ions H+ and ch3coo-, I dont see why the positive ion H+ has to be written with some elements (coo) of the negative ion, shown on a formula.... Albert
  24. Can any one help me with this???? thx for furthur responds
