  1. What is the purpose of Windows to include Visual Basic?then. Nearly every Windows has one..... Why?
  2. I am a bit confused about the difference between programming and scripting....... Can any one tell me the definition of scripting? Albert
  3. Can any body tell me how is C language different than Basic? I know quite about C language, but not Basic, tell me more about the main genuine principle of Basic..... And secondly, how do both of them play the role in OS (windows)? Albert
  4. Then why Xp contains command.com and autoexec.bat, which are the files used for handling the hardware with Dos? Albert
  5. Ok.......... For Windows Xp, can any one tell me the procedure of how computer goes from hardware to the OS that is, the XP? Does computer first go to Dos, then Dos goes to Xp ,right? Albert
  6. Well Sayonara^3, What I think is more about how does Dos work.....Sounds a bit too vague...........like how does its commands work as a whole, about the structure of Dos, and maybe its file types (like bat, sys, exe, com, etc...) Any way....I cannot find a proper sentence to express what I think, just How does Dos work? Apreciate Albert
  7. thanks Tesseract........... This could be my last question: Can any one tell me is there any more about Dos than just its commands? Albert
  8. Hey....Again............ does anyone know the resources like ebooks, website or anything on the Internet related to Dos? I just want to learn Dos....OK? Apreciate Albert
  9. To Aegar, I think although Windows Xp do not have Dos, it still has Command.com..........also autoexec.bat............which means Dos is the shell of Windows.....knowing Dos is helpful to understand the windows kernel....... Secondly, again......does anyone know the resources like ebooks, website or anything on the Internet related to Dos? Apreciate Albert
  10. Any way....... I am still asking does anyone know the resources like ebooks, website or anything on the Internet related to Dos? Secondly, I know assembly language is same thing, but...... What I want to is more about the usage than knowledge.... like to do something on hardware that windows cant, using Dos would be much easier than assembly language.....I guess........ Any body? Apreciate Albert
  11. Well, if there is no Dos, there is no Windows......Dos is the shell of Windows, learning Dos will understand more on how Windows operate on the hardware....... just like macintosh includes Unix....... Again, Any body knows the resources about learning Dos? apreciate Albert
  12. although dos is outdated, but it is still very important to learn as part of understanding computer............. any body for more suggestion on my first message? Albert
  13. Does any one know any excellent ebooks, website or etc related to Dos? Albert
  14. Well guys.......... Did u see the two pictures in my thread? they are the two methods by my group given, and What I ask is that which one is faster to evaporate and condense the salt water and traping the steam more efficiently? ANy body? Albert
  15. Any body? I think my question is a little bit too vague.... What i realy mean is can any one compare both methods on which one is better while giving reasons? Albert
  16. So can any one give the reasons of both method?
  17. Here is another example comming up by another member in my group....... The apparatus on top of the beaker with salt water is aluminium shaped thing with a special "mouth" where the evaporate water can drop into the small beaker.................. Will this method work better than the previous method? Albert
  18. every body, it is still same theory, but my chemistry teacher wants us not to use scientific equipment like condenser, to do it... I have to think another way of traping the steam and in order to condense it........ any way, thx for the suggestions........ Albert
  19. Here is another method I can think of... the black bold line indicates the aluminium foil the blue part indicates the salt water the red arrow indicates the heat from the bunsen the steam will be rised up to the aluminium foil where it cools down and goes down along the aluminium foil and being collected in the basin........ will this method work? any body?
  20. well dave..... I wont repeat my saying as long as my thread is in the "homepage"(active threads), because rarely any one will go and search for problems to answer, which are not in the active threads.......... so still, sorry for repeatition.... Any body for my previous message? Apreciate Albert
  21. Well, thx to the responds...... some of methods are sufficient, but not easy.......... I have think of a method.... but i need some suggestion... pour the seawater (about 200cc) in a big beaker...... Use a big sponge to fill the top of the beaker...leaving no spaces to let the steam out...... but still leaves a certain distance from the seawater to the sponge....... use a bunsen to heat the beaker..... when the water is gone, leaving the remaining salt at the bottom........ take the sponge carefully out of the top of the beaker..... then squeeze the sponge in another beaker....... I think it is going to work.... but still.... Any suggestion? Albert
  22. therefore, how can people say that c language is portable? since we have to change the source codes from different OS to another....... Any body?
  23. Does any body know any sufficient/easy method to do such except applying evaporation & condensation or distillation? Any body? Apreciate the responds......... Albert
  24. Ok.......Do not all versions of c language use same libraries? (ANSI C, which makes C language portable?) Any body? Albert
  25. Ok.....The "words" that are not really dos commands must be indentical to the shell of Dos: command.com.............so, I think that they must be some kind of programming language that was used to make MS-DOS............ So, what is the programming language that is used to make MS-DOS (except for assembly/machine language)? Any body?
