Two days ago, I heard on the news that there is to be a new role for some of the many cctv cameras we have in England. Apparently if someone is seen dropping litter for example the camera will tell them not to do this. Does anyone have any views on this?

I'd love to see an exploratory drawing / diagram of the whole concept. Anyone out there fancy that challenge?

In the future we could become far smaller than we are to compliment nanotechnolgy engineering. A string to the moon sounds most apealing.

It is irresponsible not to read in between the lines. Therin lies the potential to explore things from different angles. And if you should stumble upon an uncomfortable realization, explore it some more. Very little in life (in my experience) is either truely black or white.

Well thank you Pangloss for regarding 40 as young. Thats given me a whole new perspective on my being. (joke) Perhaps my view is one which is coloured by cynisim as I took part in politics during the eighties, stood back at times and observered. And then as now I realized how formulaic the whole political/ economic/ control game is. And yes I do see it as a game. Alliances one day then enemies the next. Most of what is really happening we are never told. The truth of what conflicts have really been about only trully surface many years after the event. Try reading in between the lines a bit more. Don't alway accept the official line.

I think even our barmy so called leaders are not so stupid as to really want to push the button, who are they going to talk tough to, dictate to, demonise, invade and generally create war on when everyones been wiped out .

Perhaps because they know thats its all a game. essentially a lot of hot air. During the eighties everyone was convinced that at any minute the Soviet Union was going to push the button and we'd all be wiped out. But it didn't happen. A well trodden mechanism for getting what you want and the Republicans know it, is to continually make out that the other guy is the threat.

I disagree. As one who is both artistic and scientific, some of my best ideas often come from what one could describe as poetic meander.

I base my question purely on what I see. If we take the very visible signs of wringles as signs of aging, there are stark differences (especially between black and white ) why is this?

This is something which has long intrigued and fascinated me. Black people seem to age very slowly and white people seem to age very rapidly. What causes this? Is it something within muscle density?

What (unlike butane) would not stay at room temperature. What would be cold to the touch?

If butane gas is one of these such substances, why does a lighter (for example) not feel cold to the touch?

Could you name some more of these?

Hi Thanks for your reply. Perhaps I have worded it badly-i'm very new to the study of chemistry. Basically what I would like to get to grips with is, is are there any cold chemical substances which can be encased in a container. Am I making anymore sense?

What cold chemical substances (not as extreme as dry ice ) can be contained in a vacuum?
