In our area its pretty easy to get your CNA paid for by a nursing home in return for agreeing to work in their organization for a given period of time. But I highly recommend putting in the effort to move up to RN. It is more work but not that bad when you think about two years of full time school ( after your prerequisites, that can be done while working )for a lifetime of good pay ,70k plus per year, working coast to coast. My wife never put in an application that did not bring in an offer for at least her asking price and conditions, we are both professional firework display operators and when she applied she put in the condition she had to be off 7/1-7/7 for her show, once one hospital tried unsuccessfully to get her to work and once she was told she had to work, she sent out resumes very late june, had a firm offer by 7/7 and her original job gave her a three dollar raise to get her to return!
Please do not make the mistake of stopping when you can get your LVN with the plan of going back later and getting your RN, 8 out of my wifes class did sixteen years later one has. Within six weeks of graduation every one that completed had jobs,probably half changed to better jobs in the first year. just food for thought, Charles
