Like i said. not all p4 processors HT capability. but you can't choose to enable due to the fact that its been disabled physically by intel during the production. [edit my laptop is now 2.8Ghz. the numbers done matter nowdays. its all to do with the amount of work a processor can do in a cycle. AMD's have shorter cpu pathways, thus will be able to do more work with less clock speed..

i dont think u will be able to see the files unless you set the permissions rite. most likely you will get a 403 forbidden error.

i have found at that all pentium 4 processors are capable of hyperthreading. ist just that intel disabled some "paths" (for loss of a more appropriate word) in the processor architecture.

isnt the fix for sp1 slowdown due to memory allocation bug availabe on windows update? if not then why? I ve tried BootVis like a year ago. I really dont use it nowdays, as i seem to be reinstalling windows everymonth or so.

i havent installed sp2 cos i only heard bad things about it. has anyone tried the sp1 slowdown fix?

my bro has a powerbook g4. the thing is whenever he tries to run firefox the icon bounces a couple of times in the dock and then the talkback service runs. i have looked for solutions on the net. a couple of people seemed to have the same problem but noone posted any solutions. i was wondering if anyone here knows of anything.

to lance. Clirex is the a fily type. ist because you have associated the .avi fily type to some random clirex player. that why it says cliprex video file. I have associated my media files to winamp. thats why in mine it says winamp media file. get the ffdshow. cos it has all the requierd decompressors like for xvid divx . and other stuff as well.

most likely you havent installed the required video codecs. http://www.free-codecs.com has plenty of codec packs. wont recommend you to isntall those. cos they are bloated like hell. all you probably need is a divx and the xvid codec. recommend you install ffdshow-alpha. edit:ffdshow comes in three flavours. the fisrt one is generic. and the other two optimised for sse and sse2 instructions capable machines. if u have amd athlon xp. i think it supports sse. if u have P4. then get the sse2 one.

i think the sasser or msblaster corrupts the lssass.exe service or soemthing like that, forcing a restart.. altough u can cancel the shutdown procedure by going to run "shutdown -a" ... i am not exactly sure what u problem is. most likely a virus. who knows.

partitions with linux is quite confusing. dont u have to create two partitions. the main one , and the /swap partition as well. /swap basically acts as the pagefile in windows.
