i havent done fourier series but i have read up a lil about it. if i understand correctly then. all it says is that any periodic fucntion (cant remember what the period must be . 2pi or something or other) can be written as a linear combination of sums of sine and sums of cosines.

just because norton has the largest market share doesnt mean its the best. there are free Av as good or better and with faster scanning times than norton. they even has free updates!! AVG is what most pple use: its quite good. i havent tried it properly. but its not a memory hog like norton http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php Avast antivirus is what i am using now. u can get the home edition for free or download the pro edition which acts like a 60 day trial. you can find the keygens all over the net. http://www.avast.com/i_kat_67.html there are also BitDefender, Panda , and AvtiVir. i havent tried them. For firewalls I used to use norton personall firewall, but then stopped it. since then i have tried mcafee personal firewall plus which honestly sucked. its alrite for novices with its colourful GUI. but it still sucked. Tried Zome alarm pro. which was alrite. but didnt particulary feel at home with it. Rite now i am using Kerio Personall Firewal, which is mainly for advanced end. its interface is simple and effective. it also alerts u when an application is trying to run another application. Like most firewalls , its rule based. It doesnt give u any help with programs which are trying to access the internet. so if u dont know what svchost.exe and the others do then u should maybe try others. like zone alarm it has an icon in the sytem tray which shows the incoming and outgoing connections. it also has pop up blockers and ad blockers which i have disabled. http://www.kerio.com/us/kpf_download.html damn i just found out that the program acts as a free for 30 days and then acts as a limited free with features disabled its always a good idea to install more than one antivirus software , making sure that they both dont have resident scanners running at the same time. Also there are vairous online virus scanners to double check. You can also make ur own router/firewall . if u have a old , really old box. just download IPcop and set it up. cant go into details. click here for details http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/t10400.html? if u know any good free software. put the link and reviews up here

i dont wanna be picky, but just to correct that statement |x| is non-negative. it doesnt have to be always equal to positive because it can also take the value of 0. many pple confuse positive with non-negative when claiming x^2 is always positive and such.

cant seem to edit the last post but k^k/(k+2) from 0 to infinity. then it would be taken as 1 + 1/3 + 1 + 9/5 .. the term x^0 is taken as 1 for all values of x

yeah , i find that if i do some push ups i can go to sleep quicker. but i am too lazy. and not consistent with my exercise.

I can manage 40 in 30 seconds. not bad.

Knuckle cracking?
bloodhound replied to Cap'n Refsmmat's topic in Anatomy, Physiology and Neuroscience
I crack my knuckles and joints very often. about more than 30 times a day . Altough i know its bad for you on the long run. I find that it releases some tensions from my fingers. So before I do anything nimble. like playing classical guitar. I will have to Crack my joints. not only knuckles but also the joints in the fingers. I am learning on how to crack my neck. My fren does it flawlesly. Also have to learn how to crack my spine. -
WHICH one of these is right 1) its not possible to travel at speed of light 2)its not possible to travel at or greater than speed of light if 1) is right. then does that mean theoretically u can travel greater than speed of light dont laugh at me pls. i am a mathematics student and i haven't done anything of relativity.

I dont know .. I think the easiest way to make something sound like u want to in reverse. is to record a stuff u want. play it backwards. and then write lyrics which sound the same as the thing played backwards. therefore when someone else plays ur lyric backwards they will hear the hidden message. I might try that.

to jordan: yeah thats rite the answer u gave is equivalent to sum of k^2 from 1 to n. which gives u n(n+1)/2 to wolfson: ur rite on spot as well. basically a rectangle consists of two vertical and horizontal lines. there are (n+1) horizontal and vertical lines in a square grid there are n+1C2 ways to choose 2 lines out of n+1 . also for each of those u have the same amount of ways u can choose two vertical lines. there fore u have the total no. of retangles = n+1C2 squared. which i think is equal to (n+1)!/2!(n-1)! squared. = n^2(n+1)^2/4 now try the same thing to find the nu. of squares and rectangesl in a n by m grid

u may alerady know this. but i just found out . stair way to heaven. some bits play backwards. talks about satan. and its not just a word or a sentence. its a whole bloody paragraph. seriously creeepy pple. if u want download an mp3 and reverse it using any software u want. even windows sound recorder can reverse it. dont know if it can open .mp3s http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/stairway.php

Ok. you have a n by n grid of squares. ie. made out of n^2 small squares. all u have to do is find the total number of squares of all sizes. If u want to , you can extend the problem into a rectangle of n by m squares . Also find the number of possible rectangles(rectangles also includes squares)

I did foundations of pure mathematics module and currently doing doing MAthematical Structures Module. Its terrible. really hard. doing cyclic groups and integer arithmetic and am completely baffeled.

0^0 is undefined. But it is generally take to be equal to 1 in polynomial algebra. for example if u have a series k^k/(k+2) from 0 to infinity. then it would be taken as 0 + 1/3 + 1 + 9/5 + ... well thats what i learned in my Analysis lectures anyway

http://www.subservientchicken.com/ bloody good robot and the moonwalk are expecially good

i think i have read everything in there!!! they start simple and go into the most hard stuff

cool. is there a way to find solutions witought brute forcing it?

thanks for that . forget the computer code stuff. just want some mathematical ideas

i think u should go into a branch of mathematics called topology for topologists i think a sphere can have as many sides as they want cos it can be deformed into any shape. (square, Pyramid .etc)

this is a famous limit F(n)/F(n-1) tends to phi as n tends to infinity where F(n) is the nth fibonacci number also find loads . i mean tons and tons of exciting equations and recurrence relations for fibonacci at http://mathworld.wolfram.com/FibonacciNumber.html

i would have said a sphere has infinite sides, probably because you can think of a sphere as a limiting form of a regular poly-oid( i dont know the correct terminology, just taken off from cub-oid).

i am sure there is a really neat way to do it, but i wont give up and look it up on the web just yet.
