  1. ! Moderator Note Unfortunately, your posts inherently fun afoul of our rules requiring clarity and reasonableness. You seem more interested in asking questions about impossibilities than in having a discussion about science. Perhaps another forum would be best for you?
  2. Premises rejected. Interest fading fast.
  3. fredreload has been suspended for two weeks for soapboxing about speculative topics. If you can't support your ideas, you aren't doing science.
  4. ! Moderator Note Enough! You can't just throw wild-ass guesses around and call it science. fredreoad, you aren't reading what's being shown to you, you ignore established science in favor of your hand-waving, and you don't seem interested in fixing your ignorant misunderstandings. You push back against people who are trying to help, and that's not the way discussion works. I think you need a less rigorous science forum for your posts. We have rules requiring members to focus on mainstream application of science knowledge, and the last thing we need is your pushback on the basics. Take a vacation for a couple of weeks, and search around for some sites that don't mind your approach to knowledge.
  5. Only if you want to perpetuate the behavior. Once it's pointed out (the way we're doing in this thread), isn't it a thinking human's responsibility to change? We should always consider the smart option first, which almost always involves overcoming our more primitive thinking in favor of what's best or right or just. I'm not sure why you approve aren't convinced of this double standard.
  6. Let's wait and see. Did you send in the warranty card? Oh well.
  7. One of the worst is one we should be seeing quite a bit of in the next few months. Watch how the men will be allowed to yell over one another aggressively without complaint, but if Harris interrupts a man or raises her voice, she'll be painted as rude and demanding. Or worse, hormonal.
  8. I'll let the point go if you can show me the thread you started to complain about Trump's bizarre facial expressions.
  9. Interesting strategy for never coming back EVER! Showing remorse about the meltdown that got you banned was a good touch.
  10. That's advice men rarely get or seem to need. Along with how to respond to questions about how they balance work and family. I find it extremely sexist.
  11. ! Moderator Note I'm opening this again in case there are some further aspects to (politely) discuss that don't involve fundraising. Posts generated from an earlier downward-spiraling misunderstanding have been split to the Trash. Further responses to modnotes will be split to Trash. If you have a problem with a moderator's note, USE THE REPORT POST FUNCTION so you don't take a thread off-topic.
  12. Oooh, I hadn't thought of that! And some of those hairworms have mind-controlling toxins that can make insects do bizarre things. Perhaps there's a correlation between bites like these and recent bizarre human behavior. We should check for bites before letting folks vote, or when they don't want to wear a mask in public. /jest
  13. How do you know it's a "bite"? Could it be a small rash that keeps getting scratched open? Or perhaps a wound in a place on your leg that gets a lot of movement, or rubs against clothing, or something else that delays healing? In 6+ years, why haven't you mentioned this to your doctor? It seems odd that the tissue hasn't healed completely in all that time, even if you were interrupting the process somehow. After hemostasis, there's a step where the wound is cleansed by fluids and coagulating platelets before the real repairs can begin. It sounds like your wound is stuck in that phase somehow. We can talk about what it might be, but we can't advise you what to do about it, other than ask your doctor. I hope that makes sense.
  14. ! Moderator Note I gave you a friendly green reminder why this would be against the rules. You turned it into both a joke and a rant on censorship. Do you argue loudly with the librarian when he asks you to be quiet? Never mind answering that. You've been reminded of the rules you agreed to when you joined. Have a great day.
  15. Learn what censorship is. ! Moderator Note DON'T START A POST ABOUT FUNDRAISING FOR YOUR IDEA.
  16. ! Moderator Note Not here! We don't allow advertising of any kind. Please find a better site to promote your new business. Use us for science discussion only, please.
  17. drumbo has been suspended for 2 weeks for trolling and abuse of the reputation system.
  18. ! Moderator Note Except you give away this lie by also abusing the reputation system, voting down a particular person's posts no matter what they said. Your disagreements ring hollow, and your stance is very personal and belligerent. Take a couple of weeks off and decide whether it will be worth it for you to be more civil if/when you return.
  19. Not one that most believers would follow. They already know the truth, and most likely would be insulted by the "dustbin of history" approach.
  20. I think this disqualifies you from forming a meaningful new religion. The same perspective would make people distrust my motives for starting a new televised team sport.
  21. Best current explanations have been defended to within an inch of their lives (that why we call them theories, and also why yours is NOT). I don't understand how you can say, "it's everyone else who is refusing to investigate the information". It's your burden if you wish to go against our best mainstream explanations, but you should stop being lazy and support your ideas similarly if you want to be anti-mainstream. As Bufofrog said, you've got it exactly backwards. The burden of proof is yours. But please don't use videos to make your point. Nobody wants to waste that much time when reading is quicker, easier to respond to, and more informative.
  22. Perhaps those that stay on Earth. I don't see why we'd become less intelligent though. There's an awful lot to explore in Earth's oceans, and I think exploration advances our intelligence. Those who go off-planet will face a whole new system of evolutionary pressures and environments that will require selective adaptation.
  23. ! Moderator Note Please stop using videos as support for your ideas. The membership is not required to watch them, and you're basing too much of this discussion on their content. Please adhere to the rules you agreed to when you joined.
  24. ! Moderator Note Stay on topic, please.
  25. You keep running away, you'll stay ignorant. You keep looking for truth, you'll stay in your own head forever. We're holding on to this accumulated human knowledge for you, it's your birthright, and you're more than welcome to share. But you have to stop being lazy and study.
