Only if those in need are unpredictable or require guards with advanced training. If those in need are quiet, orderly, and just want to do their jail time, they represent great private investment opportunities in the US.

It must have been hard for you living in your famous brother's shadow all the time. I would say "Care as if you're life depended on it". If you care about yourself, you can't help care about others. It's obvious you aren't a narcissist, so I don't think you'll ever love yourself to the exclusion of everyone else. I think the mistake you're making is trying to assign some kind of unknowable motivation to another person's actions. There are so many reasons why people do things that it's silly for us to imagine only the one or two that hurt our feelings most. You're a good person, he's a good person, something happened to sever the connection you had with him, you're still good people. Look for more like that, and keep loving yourself and caring about others.

There are still many reasons why he changed his account. If you can't know which one it is, you need to let it go. Try to avoid making sweeping judgments about your judgment. We all make mistakes, and hopefully learn from them. The more you engage with others, the more chances you'll make a mistake, but also there will be more chances to learn. People are SO different, so you must just be yourself, engaging with all the different people. Don't put that pressure on yourself, thinking you have to know exactly how/what others are feeling, because we're all just too damned complicated for that. Just be you, and that will be fine.

I'm assuming you only know him from WeChat, since you could always ask him if you knew him IRL. Here's what I think happened. You had a great chat with this guy, really clicked with him and both of you learned a lot about yourselves. This guy's girlfriend saw the difference in him, asked him what happened, he told her, and she became so jealous she sneaked into his account and deleted you. Now, she's probably forcing school buses off the road while she looks for puppies to make herself a fur coat. It wasn't really about you at all.

Strange gave you three possible answers to this in the first response, so it's obvious you didn't look them up. "Big Bounce" is my favorite, seeing as how we can't really know now, or possibly ever. That makes pre-BB theories unfalsifiable, doesn't it?

Turnaround is fair play, so now it's ass-biting time. "Appearances" and the status quo have been thrown out the window by Lyin' Swampski McPornfather. He put an end to the normal concerns of the electorate, and instilled in us a desire see through the fakery. I'd rather not let the WH cherry-pick when appearances are important (*cough* McCain *cough*). Just keep releasing information as it's available, Mr Mueller, we're pretty parched for trustworthiness. I'd rather not find out about Russia when it's too late.

This does show that claiming this bullshit grace period has been effective. The GOP is trying to equate anything they don't want with Russian "interference", lumping our own justice system in the mix and claiming they might "interfere". I don't care what your politics are, if you don't want to know whether or not Trump is a felon and/or a traitor prior to accepting his endorsements for elective offices around the country, then you'd still support him if he was guilty of all the crap many Republicans think Clinton is guilty of.

My brother served on a destroyer named after McCains I & II. That said, I'm not a fan of dynasties, especially in politics. We need good leaders who represent ideals, not names and special families.

I don't consider consciousness unique to humans. I think consciousness is enhanced by intelligence, and due to high intelligence our consciousness is perceived (by us) as a special human attribute. As others have mentioned, you need a comprehensive definition before you can really answer this, one not skewed to humans from the outset.

First off, there is no such rule. Second, if there was, today wouldn't be the last day (count 60 days before November 6). Third, I hope, if Mueller has actionable evidence, that he would feel that justice, and informing the American public of his findings, takes precedence over partisan politics.
-
Another option is that these people, Palin in particular, can't be trusted not to turn McCain's funeral into a platform for themselves.

This, THIS is why the folks here are taking the time. You have this wonderful curiosity, and a sharp mind that desperately wants all the pieces to fit. Nobody cares about mistakes as long as you learn from them, and it's obvious you're not just digging in your heels on principle, as so many do when their ideas make so much sense to them. Congratulations on the new coursework. Hopefully we'll see free college in the US soon, and more people will take advantage of the chance to splash around in the well of accumulated human knowledge.

A couple of things. You didn't get into science in school, but now you realize it's pretty interesting, and much cooler than you thought back then. If I'm not describing you, then I'm describing me. It took me a long time to see the benefits of using scientific methodology in explaining various phenomena. But at first, I had to unlearn a lot of garbage I'd picked up from popular science publications. It takes a while to sort the cream from the Kaku. The contradictions come because you're filling in gaps in your knowledge with stuff you've made up. The best way is to go back to the basics and re-learn them. It's never too late. That way, you can go to the top of the building to speculate, instead of trying to rebuild the foundations and lower floors everyone relies on.

The parts where they mess with gravity look very cool, but I think they give the impression of a magnet that works on anything.

OK, you've had military experience that gave you a certain skill set, knowledge that makes it easier for you to understand other bits of data close to your field of expertise. You understand the jargon. You know almost immediately when someone is speaking about the military whether they've actually served before or not. If I came to you with an idea about a new military weapon that would make guns obsolete, you'd probably be skeptical ("Dumbass called them guns instead of rifles!"). If I described the intricate workings that make my new weapon very powerful, you might know instantly that such a weapon would never survive use in the desert sands or anywhere near water. You can also tell by the way I describe the weapon that I don't really understand how explosives work. The power of the weapon is my sole focus, but you know that doesn't matter because the weapon is going to malfunction when the intricate workings heat up/clog up/freeze up, and I don't have the right kind of ordinance to do what I think I'm doing. When you tell me this, I might think you're just putting my idea down because you love your rifle, or that you won't accept anything that's not standard issue. I might only be interested in comments that support my idea, even though you're only trying to help by telling me, based on your expertise, that my idea is fundamentally flawed.

Which can't happen in Marvel world because space and time are separate and controlled by their own stones....

Sorry, but this is also flat-out false. You said yourself you're speculating about a non-mainstream idea, and you're not listening to points that refute it. Can I ask what your job is, just to give you a relevant example of how this sort of speculation works?

! Moderator Note Sorry, but no. This just looks like you're promoting your YouTube channel. We don't allow advertising here. Discussions can't require members to go offsite or watch a video in order to participate. You're welcome to stay, but I'll flag you as a spammer if you do this again.

Part of the problem is you came to a science site, looking presumably for science replies to your questions, yet when they're given you reject them because you don't understand them. You speculate, misconceptions and mistakes in your ideas are pointed out by others who've studied science extensively, yet you take that to mean you're not allowed to speculate. If you're looking to learn, why do you push back so hard against those trying to help? Sorry this is really off-topic, but clarity is needed in order to progress.

Iirc, caffeine makes up 3% of your coffee, and decaffeination removes 2/3 of that, and that's why they usually claim 99% caffeine free. Decaf is usually a third of the jolt you're used to.

This is the perfect moment for you to decide you didn't give gravity enough of a chance to begin with. Your other idea probably made more sense to you, but now it leaves you out on a limb. Take a fresh look at gravity, study it now, and I think you'll find you have new information and insight that will help your understanding.

The low-hanging fruit would seem to be claims that only survive because of heavy manipulation on social media. FB and Google get paid to deceive us with a skewed version of our world to inform our decision-making process. Extremists were jubilant when Trump began campaigning, because they were finally able to push their marginal agendas of conspiracy and hate. Social media money makes them look much more relevant, numerous, and popular than they really are.
