It sounds like a great idea. I, too, like the idea of being able to dial up or down on the propellant charge. Something I've always wondered about was the explosive charge in a self-propelled shell. How does it not go off when the shell is fired? Impact with the ground can't be that much different than being explosively fired from a launcher. Is the explosive charge activated after being fired?

Accurate, unbiased information is almost never *timely*, accurate, unbiased information.

I'm no evolution expert, but I do know that change is not required by evolution, it is simply explained by it. If there is no need to change, we simply don't. Look at sharks for example. Amazingly efficient. What would you change? I sure wish I could keep regenerating teeth all my life.

Why do you see this as stagnation? Perhaps this tolerance led to stonger family bonds and greater learning potential for offspring. This "tolerance" could be why we are as advanced as we are. And medication that mitigates hormonal effects has only been around for a tiny amount of time on an evolutionary scale.

Your definition of corrupt, please. Astronomical markups can't really count in a free market, can they? If there are alternatives that are cheaper we can't really bitch about what they charge. Personally I don't care much about which had more problems in the past. I don't want to have to worry about vote tampering and I do worry about it with a totally electronic system (Diebold's software is available on the net ffs!). I liked the versions that printed what you had just punched in, let you double check it, then hit "VOTE" and have the paper drop into a secured box. Both the electronic and the paper ballots are counted (no extra time since the electronic is almost instantaneous) and any discrepancies are investigated. Viola, peace of mind!
