So does it happen whenever you are relaxed but still excited, or just the once when you were reading the chem book? Could it have been the ink from the book that caused the scent?

This troll bridge is now closed. Thanks to all the billy goats who at least tried.

ecoli would be the highest poster but we erased thousands of his when we caught him following Martin and swansont around posting, "LOL" after each of their posts.

Light has been shed. The Middle East finally humanized. Perhaps "controversial" isn't automatically "interesting". Can I get back to my falafel now?

What a slow and pointless animation. I let it play to conclusion in the background. 27 books of the Quran are both odd-numbered and have an odd number of verses. 30 books of the Quran are both even-numbered and have an even number of verses. 30 books of the Quran are odd-numbered but have an even number of verses. 27 books of the Quran are even-numbered but have an odd number of verses. That animation had to have lasted five minutes. There is nothing mathematically interesting. I'm not sure why it would be interesting even to a Muslim. A whole bunch of time wasted for a weird lettle nugget of meaningless trivia. Don't EVER do that again.

*poof* Granted! You now have the ability to figure out any riddle, no matter how difficult, right on the spot. The "spot", however, is in the sludge drum of your local waste management facility, where solid sewer matter is dredged out of the liquid waste. This ability turns out not to be as much fun at parties as you'd originally thought. I wish my logic could persuade people into doing whatever I asked them to do.

Having been a "tinner", actually making ductwork for HVAC applications, I have the utmost respect for the Gray Lord of Seals. However, duct tape's marine applications are not it's forte. Similarly, full sunlight tends to melt the bond between the adhesive and the tape a bit. Plastic patch outside, waterproof caulk, you're good to go. Just make sure your feet aren't going to be pushing against the patches (don't know how this paddleboat is set up).

In my teens and twenties I was always putting my foot in my mouth like that. And I grew up with lots of aunts and uncles who were great role models. I still underestimated them. I think youthful arrogance is worse in the US for some reason. I read about a mountain community in Europe where the kids wouldn't think of trying to climb any of the local mountains without getting advice from someone older who had climbed them before. It was important and they knew such advice could mean life and death. In the US most kids have this independent streak that almost makes it seem weak to ask for advice from someone older, like an admission of defeat. I'm sure it has caused more grief than object lessons.

*poof* Granted! It is Wednesday, September 2, 1263 and you are starting classes at De Vaux College in Salisbury. Please be on time for Intro to Alchemy and Leeching 101. I wish my dining room would paint itself.

I think it's obvious that there are some who need different answers than the ones they've been listening to.

Freddy called himself Persian often, but he was born in Stone Town on Zanzibar, off the coast of Tanzania.

Wow! You *really* know how to corrupt a wish! I wish skunks could dodge cars better.
-
*poof* Granted! The project has shifted direction a bit and now involves collecting semen samples from blue whales. Here's your lubricated wetsuit, your snorkel and a sixteen foot condom. I think all your practice on the pole as a volunteer fireman is really going to pay off here. I wish AzurePhoenix would discover this thread.

*poof* Granted. But his mistake causes the singularity to collapse, so now you have to listen to him whine about how great it was while it lasted. I wish bindweed was afraid of me and wouldn't come within 100 yards of where I'm living.

*poof* Granted. Now it works only when you sit on top of it, but it's the best reception you've ever had, only upside down. I wish ice cream was a perfectly balanced nutritional food.

(Shakespeare Nazi to the rescue) "Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them?" IMO, spin may keep us paying higher prices for oil a bit longer than we should, but ultimately the market will demand a new energy source. Distribution of goods guarantees it will be a top priority. I think nuclear will win through eventually so they shouldn't make it *too* scary.

*poof* Granted. Meet Avery Thing. Since you're friends now you can call him Thing. After he gets through lovin' blackhole123 he'll stop by your place (and yes, you may get screwed on this one). I wish the History Channel showed actual scenes from the past.

*poof* Granted. You have seen every movie ever released to the public. You have also seen the other 99% of the movies made that were not good enough. And some of those were so bad you clawed your eyes out. Now you don't have to watch anymore movies. I wish anything I wear or use that makes me advertise someone else's company was free of charge.

*poof* Granted. But the neighbors all decide to burn their training tapes and Oprah T-shirts in a big bonfire in your front yard. The ensuing smoke asphyxiates you in your sleep. B'bye. I wish my computer understood my needs.

Prejudice or Perspicacity? Racist or Realist?
Phi for All replied to Jim's topic in Suggestions, Comments and Support
I don't consider them to be easier standards. I consider them to be standards which might allow Islam to grow as an ideology rather than assuming it's followers are always going to let their countries be ruled by their clergy. These standards may also keep us from the necessity of declaring war on all it's followers. Is it your opinion that Islam and it's followers should be treated like the Aryan Nation, the KKK and the Nazi party with regards to our policies regarding Racist / Prejudiced Remarks? -
*poof* Granted. Hope you don't mind fleas. I wish my truck would run on grass clippings instead of gasoline.

We've established that groups which actively practice (and are practically defined by) discrimination are exempt from fair treatment when it comes to our policy. When all of the members of a group feel the same way about something' date=' it's obviously correct to make generalized statements about them. Such statements would not be pre-judging them. If it is determined, through study and experience, that all of Islam is a religion which ultimately calls for either conversion or condemnation, then we can easily determine that the ideology is not one with which we can peacefully live, and that it is like the Aryan Nation, the KKK and the Nazis with regards to prejudicial remarks. -
*poof* Granted. But since so many people still think he's doing such a great job, it will take a scandal to get him thrown out. It is the evidence on your dress that gets him impeached. I wish I knew which purchases would end up being worthless.

*poof* Granted. Dinner at your place tonight? Make me something easy to chew. And plan on a late night. I wish I had an extra four hours to myself every day.

*poof* Granted. Start with your hands and feet. Go ahead. I wish I could find a buried treasure chest in my garden.
