  1. If everyone is employed, who will work the new jobs that come along? You will need to invent more people. Nice for the GWs. Now you are inventing more money. Billionaires multiplying by the hundreds? Misleading Vividness or do you have some studies to back this up? Where exactly is this money stagnating? In banks? Banks lend their money, it doesn't stagnate. And you really believe the workers could organize everything on thier own? And they would get the machines and equipment from where? It's not so cut and dried, Mike T. And part of licensing is regulation. Do you want the regulatory controls to go away, too? Controlling greed is like stifling creativity. Part of the pioneer spirit is wrapped up in acquisition and greed. I'm resoundingly confident that IMM is much more aware than you're giving her credit for. Economic investments are her business. There is no one reason we are at war. There never is. I know you'd like the reasons and the solutions to be simple but they're not. Tamper with one part of a functional system and you'd better be prepared for that system to break down. That's not to say that you can't work towards admirable goals, but too much change too quickly is not good for anybody if we're not prepared to accept the repercussions.
  2. This is not make-work nor is it superfluous to their economy. Keeping things looking clean and shiny shows you care and reduces crime while keeping quality of life high. This is part of the Broken Window Theory which many cities in the US have adopted in order to clean up many urban problems. The Japanese culture seems to be rooted in this concept. I saw a cable show about the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. They have staff who do nothing but wipe fingerprints off the plate glass doors that ring the entire hotel. It's a full-time position and by the time they make the complete circuit around the building it's time to start back at the beginning. It's important for the hotel owners that your first glimpse of the inside of the hotel as you enter throught the doors be unmarred by anything unsightly. This impression is important enough to keep several people employed to maintain it, and that's really what employment is all about anyway. If there's a need that requires a person to fulfill it you hire someone who is willing to work for what you offer.
  3. I think some people are told from birth how utterly depraved and filthy and sinful and wrong they are just for being human and the only way they can have a shred of dignity is by listening to those who know better and following their rules. Some people make it all about sin instead of all about love.
  4. It's a shame that the same people who feel abstinence is the answer also frown on any form of sex other than intercourse. They also object to the gay lifestyle but frown twice as much when gays want to marry. How... retentive. I agree with NeonBlack. Why nine weeks of "wait till marriage"? Can you really do that without bringing religion into it?
  5. Frustratingly' date=' every time I manage to superposition I collapse into a single location when someone notices.[/quote']Maybe she wants to "go out" to a Nigerian hotel so the two of you can "stay in for a quiet evening". This would reduce the likelihood of collapsing her wave function.
  6. You should contact her via yahoo chat and tell her you wired US$5000 to US Consul General Brian Browne in Lagos. All she has to do is go over to the American embassy or call Brian at (234)-1-2610195 and all her troubles will be over. She must be a model. She sure doesn't write like a nerd.
  7. Well, I found some CAD files at Boeing but they are just fuselage plans for airport gate planning purposes, not much technical data there. They're also in .dwg format so you'll have to have AutoCAD or VoloView to view them. AutoDesk may have some other free reader since I don't think you can get VoloView for free any more. Absolutely. And versatility is king in today's job market unless you're the best in a specific field. That's because draftsmen may lend a certain intuitive quality to a CAD drawing but it takes an engineer or an architect to really design something well in CAD. And they are the ones licensed to stamp the drawing officially.
  8. A choice between someone who thinks primarily about their looks and someone who looks primarily to think is no choice at all.
  9. Avoid ad hominem.
  10. If you calculate it on your PDA, you might get (wait for it...) BlackBerry Pi.
  11. Only the NYC wanna-be's who are like, trying to act all east coast and all. Not like Emma Watson. Who drinks beer.
  12. In England, they call fries "chips" like in fish and chips, although they are more like US "steak fries" or "cottage fries". Yes, it's a regional thang. East of the Mississippi it's soda, west it's pop. People over 90 call it soda pop. But people like Emma Watson drink beer.
  13. The remarks made by certain members do not reflect the opinions or actions of the rest of the membership, staff or owners of this site.
  14. Does Emma Watson eat any of these things when she drinks?
  15. Yes, in the form of ketchup. Judging by my daughter, ketchup is one of the major food groups in the US. I'm sure Emma Watson doesn't eat ketchup, though.
  16. Maybe Dave only needs to set up a voting poll for Best Debater. The rest seem to have pretty clear winners. He's going to decide later today.
  17. A shandy can be made with 7Up or Sprite instead of ginger ale. I've had them explained to me but never had one, never having been a big beer or soda fan. They sound tremendously hideous. Americans LOVE vinegar with their "chips", they just prefer the vinegar diluted with tomatoes, cayenne, onions and sugar. Oh, excuse me! Does Emma Watson like chips with her beer?
  18. A shandy is half beer and half ginger ale, crisps are potato chips. I'm calling Fundamental Attribution Error here. Don't make her out to be an alcoholic just because she's been "drinking". Seeing someone drinking a beer does not mean they are a falling down blackout drunk. Even having a bit too much is just experimentation at her age. Lighten up, people.
  19. There's drinking and then there's drinking. ;) Hermione has that girl-next-door quality about her. Couple that with the fact that Ron is oblivious to her and the average male then wants to reach out and protect her (while showing her what a real man is like, of course). It's part of the appeal of her character and you're transferring that to the actress. Seeing Emma drink a beer is not necessarily seeing her in a rehab clinic. Don't panic.
  20. Woman: (sneezes and moans several times) Man: "Excuse me, but is everything OK?" Woman: "Yes, it's just that I have this condition where every time I sneeze I have an orgasm." Man: "Yikes! Are you taking anything for it?" Woman: (smiling) "Pepper."
  21. I found this at a site which was at least asking if it was murder rather than claiming it was murder (1) If Courtney called them instead of Kurt it removes the question of security vs. suicide. Suicide's biggest piece of evidence, the shotgun and it's position, are called into question by three things: 1) it had been wiped clean, 2) it had been loaded with three rounds, and 3) a heroin addict most likely wouldn't want to go that way (admittedly conjecture). The second biggest piece of evidence for suicide is the "suicide note". Some say it didn't sound like a suicide note. I think it easily could have been. (2)
  22. I find a discrepancy in your testimony. Btw, where were you on the night of April 8th, 1994? I just think it would be a more credible approach to pick apart the evidence that suggests it was suicide and see if there is stronger evidence that it was murder. Looking for motive assumes it ws murder and insures you will either dismiss any suicide evidence or try to link it to the homicide thesis. The name of the person filing the missing person report is blanked out. Does anyone know who filed it? One report said it was "the family" but was it his wife or his mother? I read something about a call allegedly made by Cobain's mother to the Seattle police warning them that Cobain had fled a CA rehab center, was suicidal and had bought a shotgun. Was it ever confirmed that his mother made that call? It seems like a lot of info for a person about to commit suicide to confide to his mother.
  23. Is that the whole point? Sorry, then I'm not interested. I thought that setting out all the evidence that suggests it was murder should come first. If you automatically assume it was murder and jump right to accusing suspects then I'll never be convinced you didn't lead yourself to a conclusion based on your own presuppositions. I was semi-interested in taking a case apart scientifically but this approach insures it'll be just another conspiracy theory.
