I dont know much about microwave or ultrasonic particle fabrication but have you tried template synthesis? (using silica templates made via the Stober method) It's worked for me down to about 50 nm using such polymers. if you are interested let me know as some of the fabrication steps are kinda lengthy and it's possible that this method may be useless for your application so i wont dive in with several pages of descriptions and methodologies until i know it may be useful.
