  1. i highly question that. if you divide the deaths each of those are responsible for by the number of years they had power, and compared to the same figure with bush, you'd be astonished.
  2. gee, don't you like visual effects there are many types of flash powder. flash powders area made from rapid oxidation of metals. a good example would be a [math]KClO_3[/math]+ Mg flash powder. mixed together, they are stable. add heat and the chlorate oxidizes the magnesium. in black powder, the carbon and sulfur are oxidized by the nitrate. so, in a way, they are similar in that both are simple redox reactions.
  3. tnt isn't so hard, but instead of going the extra step and removing the hydroxyl group and adding the methyl group, i'd just keep the hydroxyl group. you need aspirin, nitric and sulfuric to produce it (sulfuric catalyzes most nitration reactions and nitric of course provides the nitrate). i've never tried making nitrogen triiodide, but i know somebody who has made the trichloride, tribromide and triiodide, and i will be producing the triiodide as soon as i stop being lazy and get my tincture of iodine. your iodine crystals surely won't be pure i take it, right? nitroglycerin wasn't mentioned above:\ actually, i heard that the peroxide of 2 propanone was about as explosive as ng. is that true?
  4. dude what the bloody hell? if he weren't president he'd've probably been flogged with a barbed whip for days on end and executed for the atrocities he has committed.
  5. no, but he was anti-war and anti-bush a few months ago
  6. you know, the republicans speak of "flip-flopping". check out john mccain. bloody traitor. the republicans must have thrown their money at him. a shame what capital can do
  7. oh just so you know. i just heard that the reaction i spoke of above yields permanganic anhydride which is [math]Mn_2O_7[/math] just add water afterwards and you have your acid. be careful; the anhydride detonates into a cloud of ozone which you do not want to breathe in
  8. well, the permanganate/sulfuric reaction isn't terribly dangerous. i dont see how any deadly gases could be released. just add the permanganate a bit slowly and you'll be fine.
  9. i think the two most overlooked parts of the holocaust are the fact that total casualties (the accepted number) were upwards of 13 million (a little less than half were jews) and stalin's purge, which happened at the same time.
  10. i'd like to add to my previous statement. the original concepts of socialism were written in plato's republic. ever heard of roman jus naturale? native american tribes? anyway, more's utopia continued the ideas of socialism. then marx and engels wrote das kapital and then the communist manifesto. there have been non-capitalistic as well as capitalistic ideals and economic systems throughout history.
  11. you know, when i open that car battery of mine i'll make some permanganic and take some pics. i still think the permanganic would work better.
  12. hey, im going into junior year of high school cesium chloride can be found online for moderately low prices. melt it with a blowtorch and connect a car battery to it and molten balls of cesium metal will fly out. only problem is they oxidize incredibly quickly so you may not be able to pick them up and throw them into motor oil first. come to think of it, if you did it in a helium atmosphere you'd be set.
  13. well, yt, i dont think he's going to easily get chloric or perchloric... obviously it's a better oxidizer than permanganate as are all halic and perhalic acids. muriatic is less fun and reacts slower, as is sulfuric.
  14. agreed. but as long as state sanctioned marraiges exist, we must have equality
  15. actually cesium isn't terribly difficult to recover. just do electrolysis on the chloride
  16. permanganic works well. not easy to find but easy to make. go to an aquatics store, buy potassium permanganate, then add that slowly to H2SO4 in a 1:2 ratio.
  17. no, i dont. probably just a little. i've seen small amounts of it react with water in videos and it blows up the beaker it's contained in.
  18. socialism worked in native american societies, you know. if you support capitalism, i challenge you to a debate that has already been posted. check the debates forum.
  19. first, let me state that i agree that bush is the worst thing that has happened to the world since stalin. i have one technical nitpicking statement to make that is important however: they do not represent true christianity just like the kkk doesn't represent christianity, the zionists do not represent judaism, al qaida does not represent islam and the actions of india 50 years ago did not represent hinduism.
  20. har har. check this out: http://www.ulg.ac.be/lem/images/cesium.jpg
  21. well rubidium isnt so bad. it explodes but doesn't always break the beaker the reaction is done in. cesium is pretty bad. francium isn't as explosive as cesium only because nomatter what, you will always have a great deal of decay products with it.
  22. i wouldn't call it more authoritarian than it was 15 years ago. they no longer force people to go to certain schools and take certain jobs.
