  1. I happened to stumble across "ORMUS" today. I read about Hudson and the claims he makes about these monatomic forms of rare earth metals. It seems like a fascinating discovery, if it were true. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any published papers supporting these claims (Google Scholar turned up nothing on ormus as it applies to these materials; similarly, I found not a single paper by Hudson mentioning ormus). "ORMUS" strikes me as belonging in the same category as "energized water"; pseudoscience, in other words. Now, that's not to say that we shouldn't perhaps look into this and see if it is indeed a measurable phenomenon; that would not be in the scientific spirit. However, the conspicuous lack of papers and of proposals for experiments or studies on the subject raises doubts in my mind as to the existence of this state of matter. And even supposing "ORMUS" exists, one should be very careful of any medical treatments that claim to utilize it to effect amazing results. For comparison, consider all the pseudoscientific "treatments" that the discovery of radiation spawned. . .
