The gods of mythology were projections of the unconscious firmware, which regulate what we call human nature. Particular firmware is projected into a particular god, indirectly telling us which firmware is projecting. For example, Aphrodite was a goddess of love. This particular firmware regulates the human highs and lows, the love and hate, the ups and downs behind human passion and intimacy. To the ancient mind, when these symptoms became active the firmware became personified/projected as Aphrodite. Knowing the goddess Aphrodite allowed the ancient mind to consciously know that particular firmware. It also allowed some to mentally think command lines (prayer) that could trigger it; priestess. Just as the gods of mythology were one big dis-functional family, interfering in each other's affairs and within the affairs of humans, it was typical at that time for many different firmware to become active, at the same time. The ancients were often creative, intelligent and criminally insane. The mythology of the gods created a manual or program of what was what, by means of who was who, so one was more conscious of composite effects and could learn self control and how to harness the potential. Monotheism shifted the mind from the mythological jukebox of firmware, with many songs, to the central control core; One god entity did it all to shift the projection. Although he might delegate some tasks to firmware. The central core projection split into father-son in Christian tradition. This was not regressive, but was analogous to a projection of the ancient core becoming a core-duo processor. The Holy Spirit and trinity reflected the future potential of a tri-core; called Saints. This has all the functionality normal to modern humans plus another core for humanity.

One way to approach this is to ask what happened the last time the earth, sun and center of galaxy had this arrangement. That was 5126 years ago. There were no world wide global disasters. This means that is the not the point of the end of the Mayan cycle. That is Hollywood. The cyclic change has to do with a fundament change in humans. I like to think of entropy in terms of degrees of freedom, since it makes it much easier to see subtle entropy attributes. For example, an expensive diamond may have a nearly perfect crystal lattice. The defects represent entropy, since they define degrees of freedom in the ordered lattice. An entropy increase requires energy. The entropy defect in a diamond represents a higher energy state than the perfect crystal lattice. If we lower the entropy of the defect, to make the crystal perfect, energy will be given off. The sun fuses hydrogen, lowering the degrees of freedom of the hydrogen since the original hydrogen becomes confined in a nucleus space instead of being able to move about as hydrogen. Gravity lowers entropy since a cloud of stella gas has more degrees of freedom; can be in more places in space and time. The substructure of matter has less entropy when it becomes part of a composite structure, such as the proton. Once we separate the composite back into substructure, it now has the degree of freedom to go poof. Forming the protons of the universe from sub-particles, drastically lowered entropy of the universe and released a lot of energy. After that phase change the substructure could not go poof, since it lost the energy needed for that degree of freedom. We can add the energy back using accelerator-colliders to restore that original degree of freedom. Life both lowers and increases entropy; degrees of freedom, depending on what process is going on. When the cell metabolizes it makes small things from bigger things; Sugar to CO2 and H2O. More parts means more degrees of freedom. When we duplicate the DNA, we need to lower the entropy or degrees of freedom of thousands of DNA monomers, so they line up as the DNA double helix. The proof reading enzymes lower the DNA entropy even further, by taking away any residual degrees of freedom (defects) in base pairs; needs to be exact. Then packing proteins further lower entropy by winding the DNA into chromosomes. Then the pendulum swings the other way, with the entropy of the DNA increasing, as the DNA divides into two. AIDS is interesting, in that it lowers the entropy of the immune system. The immune system loses the freedom to do important tasks. That makes the rest of the body more subject to entropy. Death is entropy since it reduces an integrated system into small dissociated parts; decomposition. The human ego, by giving us free choice and free will allows humans additional degrees of freedom, relative to animals. The higher entropy defined by human ego, which allows more degrees of freedom, needs a source of energy.

The impact of centuries of religion has created the present state. The long term impact of religion is so interwoven into modern culture it is not always clear where it begins and ends. I can not think of any atheist civilizations that has lasted thousands of years. They don't work out. But with religion, there are dozens of examples. The atheist, have always been a part of the religious assisted civilizations, but in dilute form. They gradually assimilated the essence of religion, so the modern atheist could do the same moral things. As an analogy, say you went to live in another culture. As time goes on, one starts to take on the cultural characteristics. It is easier for the larger group to mold the few, than the few to mold the larger group. Both did occur, but morality was not always an atheist strong suit. It took time.

Matter and energy expanding, will expand space-time. Say we start with a star. It will generate a given space-time field via GR. Say we physically expand the star so it is ten time larger. Since the density is getting lower, the GR density is lowering. As such, we have expanded space-time. We expanded space-time by physically moving matter and energy. We could run an experiment. Relative to the BB singularity, a simple big bomb will also cause space-time to expand. Is there an experiment that can demonstrate that space-time can change without matter moving?

If light is a wave, what is the medium that allows the wave to propagate within a vacuum? If we look at sound waves, the velocity of the wave will be dependant on the medium. Solid media allow the sound to move faster than in liquid, which allows it to move faster than in a gas. In a vacuum, since there is no medium to propagate the energy of the wave, there is no sound since the wave needs a medium to propagate. If there is no aether, do energy waves propagate in vacuum because energy is also a particle? Particle can move without medium. Does the lack of an aether imply that the particle nature of energy is its primary state?

Israel has the lingering compassion of the world, because the Jews were a victim of a brutal bully during WWII. As a victim, one might expect that they would have more empathy, which many do. But in many ways, many have chosen the way of the bully, doing onto the underdog, what was done onto them; within the limits of international outrage. For example, Nazi Germany pegged the Jews, collectively, as the demon and the source of their social ills. The Nazi's commandeered the land and property of the Jews; sound familiar.

Evolution works under the assumption that the aqueous and protein grids within cells (membranes and cytoplasm) can not tweak the DNA via cause and effect with the environment. Rather, it assumes changes in the DNA are detached from the rest of the cell and occur randomly. I tend to believe the DNA is tweaked by the rest of the cell. This allows life to keep its finger on the pulse of the environment and adapt as needed. One line of reasoning that supports cause and effect, is if we assume random changes in the DNA, aren't there more things that can go wrong, than right, since random changes not only means improvements but also regressions. Random means the good genetic stuff, is also under random change into worse. The parallel scenario that random creates is that selective advantage can be connected to avoiding bad random genetic changes. If the all the rest of the animals get more defects, due to random, and you get fewer, one has a selective advantage and therefore be called more evolved. However, evolution is usually expressed in terms of something positive, which gives selective advantage. That can not be random, since advantage implies is a sense of direction, relative to what could happen if we randomly tweaked genes; good and bad changes are in balance. Random genetic changes for evolution should imply that the first life should have circled around a stagnation point, because a crap shoot for genetic changes should go forward and backwards, with anything gained eventually balanced by it very loss. Life could never have left simple cells, since even if it gained that ability, random eventually comes around, and will do the opposite. For every heads there are equal amounts of tails, even if we get a string of heads. Then we should expect a string of tails with life back to where it was; stagnation.

I believe in fairness when it comes to the illegal alien debate. The best solution is fair for all. To make this fair for all, some minor changes can be made. Places like California, which appear to welcome illegals, should be the places the illegals are induced to go. If they are not welcome in Arizona that should be made known so it is fair to Arizona and the illegals. Provisions could made to migrate to NY and California. It may be cheaper for Arizona to supply buses. It will be fair to more people including the illegals. Next, one of the main concerns to some people, even in welcome states like California, is the cost. Not everyone sees the expense in quite the same way, with democrats far more generous. As such, to make it fair, maybe we can have a targeted surtax on the those who support the expense, so they can put their money where there mouth is and pay all the tab. The final effect is those being generous in words can be generous where it counts, those concerned about costs will not be troubled with extra expense, and the illegals will be in states that welcome them. It is all fair. On the other hand, if treachery is the goal, this is done differently.

There is a difference between rational and empirical science, with empirical preferred by most life sciences. One can often rationally infer the final results of studies; hindsight bias, but since some branches of sciences are not fully rational, the conclusions will be tested empirically. In my opinion, this procedure could be a long series of test balloons, leading to the day when there is a system wide transition into rational. After enough empirical tests of logic are confirmed, logic will be considered rational. In defense of empirical, not all rational is created equal, which is why empirical is often the safer path, when dealing with life and with humans. Reason is suppose to be cold, without emotion; Mr Spock. Once you add emotion to reason, the premises can become fuzzy, and the lines of reason curved, allowing rational special effects. One class of rational-emotonal special effect has to do with the x,y axis (cause and effect axis) of reason distorting from perpendicular because of emotion, allowing one to make what appears to be square boxes (but on curved axis). If we straighten the axis (with no emotion), the square looks distorted. The trick is keep the emotions induced so the axis stays distorted. For example, political rhetoric is there to induce emotion. "It would be nice if all people lived in peace". That makes you feel warm and fuzzy. Once that emotional is induced, one can reason using the emotional-rational special effects. "To assure peace we will plant a chip in everyone's brain to monitor behavior, then we will have peace". It may sound reasonable to anyone under the emotional ambiance. This emotional logic will often need the unbiased nature of an empirical study to show the conclusions are not real cause and effect. Some people will avoid the emotional buzz of the rhetoric, so they can begin with un-curved axis for cause and effect. They may come to the cold conclusion, that will be called hindsight bias stemming from an empirical study. Don't get me wrong, there is a place for emotional logic, such as in dating, where emotions help inflate cause and effect. It is good in marketing using emotion to distort cause and effect and make that burger better. But this should not be part of science, which is often better off using empirical, when emotional logic is the only other choice. This is often the case dealing with humans and the unknowns of life.

How about hydrogen peroxide H2O2 (liquid) that breaks down to H2O (for a quick drink) and O2 (for breathing) using a simple catalyst. Being a liquid at room temperature, H2O2 requires little cost for exotic cryogenic or pressure containment.

Another consideration is connected to the relationship between entropy and relativity. As space-time expands, entropy will increase. One simple way to help explain this is to compare entropy in a stationary reference to a moving reference. In this scenario, we have two identical machines that produce widgets, with each machine creating defects (entropy) at the average rate of 1 per 1000 widgets. Since time has slowed in the moving reference, and since times moves faster in the stationary reference, if we compare the two machines side by side, the one in the expanded reference will generate more widgets and entropy. Or expanded space-time allows more entropy. As such, with the primordial singularity initially in highly contracted space-time, and the period of inflation, quickly expanding space-time, entropy is on the rise, with the original uniform field increasing entropy, forming discontinuities to reflect the entropy rise of the inflation. This is why we get so many galaxies and stars forming so early in the universe; space-time inflation expansion increases entropy. To increase entropy we need to add energy. That means that expanding space-time needs energy. This is logical since it needs to overcome the force of universal gravity, which takes energy. The inflation period needed an energy source to expand space-time and increase entropy. This suggests a phase change within the field that releases the energy needed for the inflation, which expands space-time increasing entropy for the defects, causing matter to clump due to gravity, which lowers local entropy, releasing entropy energy for further expansion of space-time. We still have the galaxies contracting toward black holes, lowering entropy, as the universe expands.

If you look at oil and coal, the theory goes that these were produced by the remains of living organisms over long periods of time. What that means is all the basic components of oil and coal were formerly part of the earth, including all the CO2 that results when we burn these things. When oil burns, we are returning the CO2 back to the earth where it originally came; natural part of the earth. That period of earth history, when all these materials were not yet oil and coal, was not a time of earth destruction. It was a time of earth fertility, producing abundant life that would alter these simple materials into those junkyards of dead life we call oil and coal deposits. Therefore putting this material back to its original state, before life created these dumps and boneyards, would not destroy the world, but simply restore the world to an earlier pristine time when there no such landfills and dumps. The bottom line is fear of change, using the assumption now is the perfect time of the earth. Through rhetoric, reality is distorted to create those misleading messages of world destruction. But as history shows, when all this material was spread over the earth, in simple forms, the earth was not destroyed. The earth was fertile with a potential for change. The earth was pristine with no junk yards of oil and coal.

The belly button is there, because the artist is not saying Adam and Eve were not part of biological evolution. The change symbolized by Adam and Eve occurred within the mind, allowing the right stuff needed to begin something that was unprecedented in evolution; civilization. If you look at the photo linked to Lib-art, notice pre-humans in the background, who look the same as Adam and Eve, but who didn't yet have the sense/mind of Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve had free choice unlike the rest. Later in the story of Genesis; Cain (farmer) and Abel (herder), Cain is sent away for killing Abel (farming supersedes herding which plant the roots needed to begin civilization). Cain complains whoever shall come upon me shall kill me. Cain was referring to the pre-humans. They could act like advanced animals but were not subject to the same level of reason. God gives Cain a sign (talisman) which could spooked the pre-humans, so they leave Cain be; they feared this civilized item since it was never in nature. I assume Cain mates with the pre-human females since they look like him, with his children and children's children gradually getting the new mind/brain. If you look at modern civilization, it is not centered on genetics but on the brain. For example, how much is spend caring for conditions associated with genetic defects? If genetics was the motivation, like in nature, the amount spent should be zero, since that would progress genetics. But since the mind and brain is the primary foundation of culture, genetic defects are more of an inconvenience, that the mind is increasingly able to overcome. Adam and Eve began this new mindset; mind over matter. God is historically ethereal, like thoughts, and not physical like biology.

I my opinion, Adam and Eve represent the symbolic transition between the pre-humans, who looked human (physically and genetically) and the more modern humans (different mind set). Adam and Eve represented the change within the brain and mind that allowed civilization to form. Neanderthals did not have the brain/mind configuration for civilization even if they had similar genes to humans. Adam and Eve represent when the human mind changed from the pre-humans; became more godlike. If you think about forming the first civilization, when there was no precedent and no "how-to book" to get started, this process required a fundamental change within the pre-human mind, away from the old school animal based selective advantage for genetics, into the unprecedented needs of selective advantage for the group. If we applied social Darwinism, to the beginning of the first civilization it could never have got over the hump, even if this maximized genetics. Civilization was not about trying to maximize genes. It was about maximizing the brain/mind/ group. Let me give an analogy. Say there were 6 men rowing a boat. Civilization is analogous to them putting aside their animal impulses so they can willfully work as a team. They can not all move to the beat of their own instinctive drums, stop when they want, go for a swim, take a food break, etc., or they would row out of synch. One can not depend on the way of the animals and row the boat successfully. The mind set needs to be different. The animals don't have the right stuff for civilization, or else they would form it. Adam and Eve symbolized the transition, when the boat started to move forward in spite of most of the rowers out of synch. In modern times, civilization is well established and has developed a huge capacitance through laws and institutions. Science has re-introduced "like an animal", since it is part of being human. Even if many of us row out of synch, full or part time, the momentum and the time proportion of human rowers keeps the boat of civilization moving forward. But we can't all be like the animals, all the time, or the boat would stop.

The question I have is, if the expansion of the universe was due to an expansion of space-time, how could galaxies have formed, since they represent a contraction of space-time? Here is the actual scenario in an analogy. We have 1 cm diameter dots on the surface of a large balloon, where the dots represent galaxies. As we blow up the ballon, the centers between the dots increases, while each dot gets smaller than the original 1cm. If the universe doubles in size, the milky way galaxy stays the same or gets smaller. Does the observation of the space-time expansion and the space-time contraction into galaxies, imply that the universe expands and contracts space-time, simultaneously? The question becomes what is the logical connection? Gravity lowers entropy or degrees of freedom of matter within contracting space and time. While an expansion of space-time increases the degrees of freedom of entropy. This can be explained with relativity. The expanded reference has time speeding up, allowing more things can happen, relative to a reference where time is slower. The watch may tick thousand of ticks in the expanded reference, but it may only tick once in the contracted reference, restricting degrees of freedom. The expanded reference, where the degrees of entropy freedom is higher, needs energy for this higher level of freedom, since increased entropy is endothermic and needs to absorb energy or it can't increase. Where does this energy come from, to increase entropy within expanded space-time, so we are consistent with the conservation of energy? Does the loss of entropy or degrees of freedom, by the galaxies, stars, black holes, etc., all contracting space-time, giving off potential associated with entropy, that allows the potential for entropy to increase via the space-time expansion? Is dark matter and energy expressions of the intermediate entropy spectrum between expansion/contraction, simultaneity?

The public schools in America are more geared toward liberal indoctrination, with history rewritten in their own image, several decades ago. It might be a good idea to give the children other options beyond the liberal indoctrination, since the liberal indoctrination tends to promote a dual standard which weakens reasoning skills. Let me give a simple example: To the liberal mind, the white male is from the dark side bringing all the evil of the world (Or, on the opposite side, racism can be described as the belief that a certain race or races portray undesirable characteristics ). This liberal indoctrination is racist thinking according to the definition. Yet to the irrational liberal mind, this simple logic is way over their head. The liberals also believe in quotas based on race. (certain racial groups may be denied rights or benefits, or receive preferential treatment). This too is racism, yet in the liberal world where cause and effect break down, an apple is an orange because they say so. Within the dual standard of liberal alternate reality, where cause and effect can break down, the indoctrination of many things, including the hostility toward religion, uses similar dual standard and illogical templates. The liberal control of education needs to teach illogic, since if they taught logic, children would question these inconsistencies. But since they lack these skills, by design, they will parrot and repeat. The liberals are worried that alternate ideas will impact their own version of indoctrination, especially if logical inconsistencies are pointed out and their children learn how to reason.

Sun worship was/is a projection. The sun god was a projection of the central most aspect of the collective unconscious; the inner self. Most people are not even aware such unconscious aspects exists, which is why they become projected. This helps to indirectly make such things conscious. The characteristics attributed to the projection; sun god, give us hints into the nature of the inner self. The sun god was a collective projection of the inner self. Unlike individual projection based on personal psychology, collective or group projection address aspects of ourselves common to all. If you go into other cultural mythologies, although the names change, one can see similar structuring within their mythology, since all humans have the same inner nature and this will project within certain parameters. If we go back to the trinity, this is similar to the sun god. However this projection has differentiated the old inner self into a trinity; modernized. Or the primal inner self (morally neutral like animals) through evolution, has become more complex. Modern humans are much less primal today, than their ancestors 2000 years ago. The trinity reflected this change occurring in human nature. In my opinion, the dark ages reflected the transition. It was sort of an overhaul of the human mainframe (core brain firmware) with down time and disorientation during reboot. The atheist may successfully reason away mythology. This reasoning also gets rid of the collective projections, resulting in some of the unconscious effects becoming less conscious. However, as history shows these will continue to project, but down other avenues. "We are killing mother earth" is a projection, that feels just as real as the sun god. Being a projection it is attributing to others what belongs to those wrapped up in the collective projection. It says, one has lost a natural connection; damaging the earth. Being a projection, "others are to blame", since one can not see this in themselves. Like the old sun god worship, one tries to unconsciously change their inner nature, by acting outside themselves within the collective social projection. This externalization seems to work, as it does in religion; it helps with the repair. As the earth heals one also feels healing. Another way to deal with collective projection is to cut out the middleman and go right to the inner source of the projection. Christianity has the inner voice of the holy spirit, where collective unconsciousness and collective projection become replaced with consciousness of the original source. But the herd prefers the unconsciousness of collective projection; works instead of faith.

There are four psychological functions, by which various humans orientate themselves to reality. These four functions are intellect, emotion, intuition and sensory. (from Carl Jung). We are not all the same. Different people will use one of these four as their primary orientation. For example, an emotional person perceives things a different way than an intellectual person. The former may interpret events based on what they feel more than on the content. While the intellectual person may try to eliminate emotion and use cool logic. If you look at the sign of the cross, in Christianity; father, son and holy spirit, the father touches the head symbolic of intuitive. The son is at the base of the cross and is connection the sensory orientation; god became man so we could see. The Holy Spirit touches right and left. The holy spirit is the two remaining functions; intellect and emotion. If you look historically, God the father was an intuitive concept based on faith. One was not suppose to rationalize the laws or pass emotional judgement, or even expect to see God except in the final judgement. God then becomes man, in Jesus, so our eyes could see (sensory). Then, the holy spirit appears in the drama to complete the trinity. The god concept becomes intellectualized and emotionally appealing. Christianity spread, since anyone could get on board. The trinity expresses God in a way that allows perception for all.

Faith versus works can be compared via innovation versus education. With education, one can learn about the world around us. One can be justified, in a social sense, by simply repeating the knowledge we have learned. If you were taught X and repeat X, you are justified by these works of education, even if you don't fully understand. Just saying it is sufficient. At the very least, one was paying attention. Once one obtains this educational background, for many, it becomes time to think up your own ideas. New ideas are not always validated via the old laws of education. In the time of vacuum tubes, integrated circuits would break the laws of temporal certainty. This faith in one's own perspective can become blaspheme, especially to those who know the words of education but not all its extended implications. The new idea may not be of the works of education (law), since it departs from the bottom line works. It comes to one through faith in their education combined with their ability to think and reason. Often the blaspheme of today becomes the education of tomorrow. If we only lived by the works of temporal knowledge (law), we would be stuck in time, since most of the new would break the laws of the old. The works of the computer programmer are different today that ten years ago. What was justified then, will not work today, unless we could have banned all innovation at that time so the laws of then were not broken. The future thinkers were called the children of the promise; children of god, since they like god are part of continuous creation. Jesus said, I will leave behind a comforter, a spirit who will guide you to all truth (future). The future may not be justified by the works of todays law. One will get grief. One needs faith and inner comfort to overcomes the pitfalls of the works of today's law,

The best path for biophysics research should be related to the hydrogen bonded water associated with bio-materials. This areas of research is under funded and staffed, but has the potential for the most futuristic gains, using one variable to tweak all the variables. If you take away water from bio-materials, they don't behave the same way. One can not substitute other solvents in the cell, nor can we get the same bioactivity effects in the dehydrated state. Water creates a unique scaffolding needed for bio-activity. For example, the DNA double helix has an double helix of water integrated into its structure. The DNA double helix is actually a quadruple helix; two DNA and two water, but due to lack of modern bio-physical insight, the DNA is still approximated as a double helix; 50 year old thinking. Water can't just hook itself up into a double helix. Rather the water needs the DNA as scaffolding. Once the water is set up within the DNA, it can be used to identify the base identity, at a distance, through information transfer within the water. If we substituted another solvent, the information chain is garbled and nothing works the same way.

The drug laws create jobs, making it difficult to repeal, especially in hard economic times. First and foremost, it creates good paying, no tax jobs, in the inner city. The revenue generated then helps other industries, such as firearms, clothing, housing, boats, and premium autos. This, then created many good paying jobs for lawyers and the entire legal system, jobs for law enforcement, and even allowed the creation of new government agencies, with great benefits packages. It also helped the self help industries, with therapists and social workers seeing a boost in jobs. It also created jobs internationally, making it very profitable for poor farmers, and middlemen. This helps to boost the local economies. It also helps boost the income of corrupt politicians, law enforcement, in places where this is business as usual, etc. This entire trillion dollar economic benefit package was sort created by accident; luck of the three stooges. Nobody anticipated the full economic benefits the future would bring, even if predictable. The laws were implemented to control behavior for political gain. The boneheads swung the hammer, missed the future target, but through shear luck of folly, hit economic gold. Now it is such big business, with so many dependent, both pro and con, it would be hard to cut all those jobs. The con side boosted the economy by $ trillion, while the pro might have created more than ten times that. Picture the scenario of repealing the prohibitions and the resultant loss of jobs. No politician would want jobs loss in their state. Some of this revenue makes it way back for campaign contributions, but indirectly.

If you examine basic moral laws, such as the ten commandments, one can infer how science could be used to measure good morality. For the most part, moral laws reflect human behavior that helps to maximize culture. For example, thou shall not steal. If we decided it was OK for everyone to steal, culture could not advance (could go backwards), since it is much easier to steal than work. There would be less incentive to work hard in the field if others can sleep all summer and steal. Those who do decide to work, might then need to set up a defense and thereby waste precious resources, to retain a smaller fraction of their hard labor. On the other other hand, if nobody was stealing; we all agree, the culture would become more productive, since there is reward for effort and even surplus to give to those who need help. Relative to science, sound morality would be related to various measures of social optimization. Moral behaviors that require social social mops; extra loss of resources, are not optimized, and therefore less moral. They can still be moral, but but might be considered level B morality. Thou shall not kill; Say we could all kill anyone on a whim. This would not optimize culture. Culture would regress and fall apart. On the other hand, say nobody killed within our advanced culture. It is below their brain power as an advanced human to even ponder this. There is no need to waste resource on killing machines, jails, lawyers; guns are turned into plowshares for further productivity. This is level A morality, currently beyond those who act more like animals. The Catholic church may have added additional moral laws via sins, like "gluttony". If we allow gluttony for all, there will be a major social expense, related to extreme medical costs. If avoiding gluttony was considered moral, and followed by all, we get more social optimization by reducing the size of the social mop needed for B,C-morality. In morality, like education, it is not always easy to get an A. Most people are B and C level students of morals and ethics and might actually function better with B and C level morality. We might have to accept a certain level of social inefficiency, since the higher A grade is too hard for most. Maybe science can define what an A level morality is; ideal behavior for social optimization, what a B level, C level;add mops and buckets, and what a moral F is. They are many levels of morality, with culture maybe following a bell curve.

If you look at drug addiction, the compulsive effect look almost instinctive, due to the nature of the blind compulsion. However, because some of the drugs are so new and many are synthetic, there is not sufficient time for genetic evolution to have spawned a genetic cause and effect for a particular drug. The addiction is learned behavior, induced by many personal and social factors. This is made easier to reinforce, because of the pleasure or well being that the drug gives. The entire effect leads to behavior that can become so natural looking and compulsive. I tend to think homosexuality works in the same way, with the mind creating a behavior that fools science to think it is instinctive. If there was a substance to collect from a blood sample, it would be easier to see. But the imagination doesn't leave traces in the blood. Alcohol addiction has been around for millennia, since the invention of alcohol. Although genetics can play a role in this addiction, specific genetics is not necessary to become a drunk. All it takes is the right circumstances to learn and reinforce the behavior until it is second nature. If we celebrated being a drunk as a valid social choice (as good as drinking water), we could reveal more "closet drunks", since they can freely learn this self reinforcing behavior without any countering social inhibitions to its linear addiction. This could also occur at a younger age so the second nature effect occurs sooner. Then we can say it is due to genetics. If you questioned a drug addict or alcoholic and ask them if they could substitute food for their compulsion, they can't very easily, since they only have an appetite for their chosen drug; sounds like homosexuality. Also if you confronted a drug addict or drunk and tried to tell them this is not good (moral high horse), they can come up with all types of reasons why this is who they are and who they want to be.

According to the psychologist Carl Jung, the characters of mythology have a connection to the archetypes of the collective unconscious. The archetypes are loosely analogous to personality firmware; brain, which underlie collective human behavior and propensity, which define humans as a species. No matter what the cultural training, there are human propensities common to all. The dog has their own version of archetypes or firmware which define their collective natures. We can train a dog to be a certain way, but its natural instincts remain. What we get is a blend of the two. During mating season, their mating firmware may kick in, and override training. The observation that mythology is composed of characters both below and beyond the human hero, describes the hierarchy of the various firmware and its relationship to the ego. There are helpful and dangerous beasts within mythology, which can be overcome or befriended by the hero. These are firmware the ego can engage or disengage using will. There are also mythology characters, which control the fate of the hero. These firmware are a little more distant from consciousness and are much harder to control or engage using will power. The mythology of a culture mapped out the firmware hierarchy at that point in time. For example, falling in love, is not something the ego can use willpower to make happen. The effects needs certain firmware to engage. Being beyond the will and choice of humans, the firmware for falling in love, would be defined as say the goddess Aphrodite. The rituals developed to worship her would help the ego engage this firmware. This goddess may not have been real, but it allowed a way to visualized and focus the mind, so one could push the button so the firmware would/might engage. Based on the nature of a particular culture or religion, its mythology tells us something about the firmware hierarchy and how to engage or disengage aspects of the the firmware. The character Hercules was symbolically part human and part god. That would symbolize an ego that is being boosted, by the constant engagement of certain firmware, which is normally out of range of the ego's will power. For example, the small woman, who sees her child in trouble, gets a boost of energy that gives her super human strength for a little while. This firmware is not subject to will; subject to fate or unique circumstances. A symbolic hercules has such firmware engaged, constantly. The affect may be the strength of an insane person but with a clear head.
