Einstiens. The equations are more accurate, which is required for something like a satellite.

It would be easier just to ship people and materials to Titan where it is right now. Way, way, way easier.

maximum knowledge memory
[Tycho?] replied to toolman's topic in Anatomy, Physiology and Neuroscience
We simply do not know enough about the brain to answer these sort of questions. Its obviously finite, but to what extent is anyone's guess. -
Oh, so the laws of physics change with time. Have a good source for that one?

Depends on how the cars move after they hit. If they are the same mass they will move in the same way. Why are there two cars? Will your little experiment change if its just a single car that hits a wall? This would be a more simple example if it fits.

Question about infinity and infinite possibilities.
[Tycho?] replied to a topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
No, an infinite universe does not mean that all possibilites are realized. I'm also pretty sure that the amount of mass in the universe is finite. -
Its called a "yoyo" Other than that I can't help you, I havn't learned this yet.

Well 1) Since this is a theory of yours, you can assume that it is wrong simply because physists with more training/education/intelligance than you have probably already thought about it. 2) How exactly do you propose that these things lose mass?
-
No problem. If you have any further questions after reading, feel free to ask. I already posted about the extent of my knowledge, however there are some very educated people here who would be happy to answer your questions.

These are very good questions. No, these particles are not infact small spheres. We illustrate them as such simply to make things easier. These particles also cannot be seen with any sort of telescope, it may even be theoretically impossible to "see" an electron for example without making "see" mean something rather different than what we're used to. A nuclear explosion can be produced by two processes, either fission or fusion. Fission was discovered and used first, and uses uranium for example. Fission is when an atom (like an atom of uranium) is split into other atoms- since you know what the bohr model of the atom is I'll assume you know what the atomic nucleus is. This is done usually by very high energy neutrons hitting the nucleus. The atom splits apart, releasing lots of energy in gamma rays, and it also shoots out some high energy neutrons as well. A nuclear explosion occurs when these neutrons hit other atoms of uranium, and cuase them to split, which causes more neutrons to be released and hits more atoms... etc. This chain reaction releases large amounts of energy, which is a nuclear explosion. Fusion can also make a nuclear explosion, although modern nuclear weapons use both fission and fusion. Fusion is when two atomic nuclei merge together. Where fission occurs in very heavy elements like uranium, fusion occurs in very light elements, especially hydrogen. In a modern nuclear bomb they may have a fission bomb surrounding a bunch of deuterium (which is hydrogen with a neutron). When the fission bomb goes off it raises the temperature of the deuterium to millions of degrees celcius and huge huge pressures. This can cause the deuterium atoms to merge together and form helium, which releases a HUGE amount of energy. for more information consult: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proton http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electron http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neutron http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_fission http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_fusion http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_bomb (I like wikipedia)

Wireless (remote) energy transmission
[Tycho?] replied to Drax Reborn's topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
You would not necessarly live on the inside of the sphere, it depends on how far away from the star you place it. If it is very close to the star so as to minimize the building materials, it may be too hot for life. -

The energy would be carried away by gravitational waves in the absense of any friction.

This isn't as easy as it may seem. Lots of the bodys systems work on systems of advantage vs disadvantage, if you change something, it may benifit in one way, but hurt you in another. If it was a simple thing like increasing the area of a blood cell, then evolution should have taken care of that long ago for the most part. There are some things we could tinker with. For one thing, we are not built to live long lives. We are built to live, reproduce, and raise our young. There was no advantage to our ancestors in living longer. This may be something we can change. There are other things that are different now that we are intelligent, things that were useful then, but no longer are, or vise versa. As for just making the heart stronger? I'm sure you could a bit since people are naturally differnt in these areas, a natural athlete may have a naturally stronger heart than others. I dont think there is a huge amount of room for improvment in this regard however.

Also, if it was shot out below the water's surface the water would provide thrust directly forward. If it was shooting out of the water some of the thrust would be directed downwards.

You wouldn't be able to tell. If time stopped everything would be frozen, nothing would fall, so gravity ceases to have meaning.

The speed of light is measured to be constant, which is why this came up. If you varied something else you would get c as a non constant, which doesn't happen in our experience.

High Density Plasma Toroid Fusion Question
[Tycho?] replied to Erich's topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
This is like the 3rd bloody time you've posted this here. Why the **** do you keep doing this? You arn't even asking questions, you just post meaningless conversations and then disapear for a month before you post the same thing again. Hahahaah, I just skimmed over some of it: "Each of these requires some cash outlays, so I am working them as I can get resources. Several people, including yourself, are considering helpful investments of $5k to $10k to 25K to 50K to 100k. Work will progress with any investment, no matter how small. Capturing an EST is a $5k investment." You're just looking for money! You just spam on a bunch of forums looking for some cash! -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubble_Space_Telescope I'm not even going to read this, but there is an excellent chance that this article has what you're looking for, or links to it. If you want to know something specific, your first stop should be wikipedia in my opinion.

The book is called Flatland. Here is a link http://www.alcyone.com/max/lit/flatland/, I dont know if this is the whole text of the story or not as I have never read it. Basically quite a while ago some guy asked the same question, and describes interactions between 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional beings.
