  1. No one has any idea? Unless someone has come up with a better idea that they are not sharing, it looks like the only leverage at his disposal is gaseous in nature.
  2. Actually, some of the ethical debate revolves around whether this is "good" or "not so good"... It must a hard decision either way and sometimes ignorance just might be (a little closer to) bliss. What a can of worms
  3. Can you explain this in more detail?
  4. If you are interested in maggots for wound healing, you might also be interested in an enzyme derived from silk worms, serrapeptidase, which is said to remove dead tissue, while leaving healthy tissue alone. It's very interesting. I wonder if maggots have a similar enzyme.
  5. Sunday Afternoon now and Clinton has narrowed Obama's lead at MSNBC.... MSNBC Obama 943 delegates Clinton 895 delegates http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22419475 ....and Obama is closing in on Clinton at ABC/AP.... Obama 1095 delegates Clinton 1118 delegates Real-time Race Results: Updated February 10, 2008 - 1:00 PM (all times Eastern Standard) http://abcnews.go.com/politics/elect...egates?ref=ipb The powers that be, that have a huge stake in maintaining the status quo, have to be absolutely thrilled at their good fortune. This thing is going to be settled in a back room filled with cigar smoke by "The Man" (aka Superdelegates), folks. That freaks me out more than just a little bit....you? EDIT: WOW. This can't be a good sign for the Clinton campain................... Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton replaced campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle with longtime aide Maggie Williams on Sunday, a staff shake-up coming just hours after presidential rival Barack Obama's weekend sweep of three contests. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080210/ap_on_el_pr/clinton_campaign_manager
  6. The DNA tests themselves are 100% safe. However, how the tests might be used to make certain decisions, could be and are the subject of much debate.
  7. You didn't say what type of battery it was. The contents of many batteries are very toxic. You may have a toxic chemical spill and maybe into the air and in your lungs. Not good. Please stop until you figure out what you are doing.
  8. What does "thurough" mean? PS: It doesn't sound stupid at all if you are really doing an expt with the acid and you know what you are doing. But it is stupid if you don't know what you are doing. Speaking of stupid: Is H2SO4 or nitric acid part of the actual "experiment" or are you planning to follow one of those internet reciepes to make something for a stupid pharmacological "experiment"?
  9. Uhhmmmm....how do you "accidently swallow lead pellets"? This reminds me of a kid I grew up with that would swallow BBs just so he could observe them when they magically appeared out the other end.....
  10. Oh dear Lord.
  11. 1. Like herm said and, If it is Cl- ions along with Na+ ions (common table salt)...nothing but lowering of the boiling point of water. If it is H+ Cl-, then you might get serious resp and eye irritation and asphysxiated...... 2. ?????
  12. This all seems kinda cyrptic to me. What injury did you suffer, what procedures were perfromed and what foods do you think are causing inflammation? Hope you feel better.
  13. You're right. It is sooo wrong. But, I saw my neighbor's wife (what a cow) pulling a plow. Does that count?
  14. Well, it just so happens that I very recently (last week in fact) had a medical procedure in which I had to fast and drink 4 liters of laxative and PEG solution so that all my intestinal contents were..... completely....quote "evacuated" unquote..... before the procedure was performed. After the procedure, first meal to exit was just about 48 hours. I made note of this because it was of some morbid scientific curiosity for me. That said, I believe that the norm is anywhere from 24 to 36 hours. PS: If (when) you have the opportunity to have a camera shoved up your ass, be sure they give you plenty of Demerol and Benzos......so that the experience is nothing like dropping soap in the shower in prison..... With the proper medication, you won't remember a thing and the rest of the day can be quite pleasurable actually.
  15. Drive yourself crazy trying to find one....I have.... Why should finding out an accurate accounting of delegate allocations be so difficult? It's not right is it? The man is messing with us.
  16. But I can't imagine that the media (national and local) and the voting public (national and Paul's constituents in his home state) at large have been as inciteful as this. Can you? I'm not implying anything negative about them. We have the advantage of 20 20 hindsight.
  17. You might be able to concentrate it somewhat that way, but not remove all the water. Even though acetic acid and water are not azeotropes, you would have to distill it over and over, each time the amount of water would decrease. Or find another way....... For a protic acid, such as acetic acid, pH is the way to measure acidity.....how many free protons in solution. That said you could indirectly "measure" it by monitoring the rate of some chemical reaction that requires free protons ....
  18. I hear you. I used to find some level of humor and sarcasm in him, kind of like Monty Python, and even thought it was fun to study his audience....but I just can't do it anymore..... Reality is scary enough as it is without facing the fact that millions of Americans actually follow the advice of a man that has "his brain on loan from God". I knew God's brain. God's brain was a friend of mine. And Rush ain't got God's brain.
  19. What is the mechanism at his disposal by which he can use to silence anyone on any issue? Unless I'm missing something, he's just throwing cotton balls at a rock wall.
  20. I don't know.....that is another shroud of mystery..... Here's some more info so you don't drive yourself insane trying to find it....it can be done (driving yourself insane trying to find updates on the delegate counts I mean). MSNBC Obama 861 delegates Clinton 855 delegates no info given about when it was last updated.. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22419475 ABC Obama 994 delegates Clinton 1071 delegates Real-time Race Results: Updated February 7, 2008 - 2:18 PM (all times Eastern Standard) Totals indicate the number of delegates accumulated to date. Needed to win: 2,025 http://abcnews.go.com/politics/elections/delegates?ref=ipb This report includes information from the Associated Press which may not be rewritten or retransmitted for commercial purposes without permission from the AP. I do know that the numbers have changed since Wednesday.
  21. Yep. I wonder if he is not one those people himself..... While Paul's failure to achieve the big chair was not so dramatic, it does remind me a LOT of Ross Perot self imploding....neither of those guys are stupid.... Dang he would have made a big splash....if the powers that be didn't kill him first.... What does it have to do with Huckabee's qualifications as a conservative? You stated that Huckabee is a conservative at least in part because of his views on the death penalty. In fact, his record on that point is not greatly distinguished from Clinton, Obama, or McCain (who is generally not considered a "true conservative" either) in that regard. ALL of them support the death penalty. Only Paul (generally considered the most conservative) opposes the death penalty. I left the Huckabee part out.... Huckabee supports the death penalty. In his book, From Hope to Higher Ground, he described the death penalty as "a tough issue." He wrote that he believes "some crimes deserve it, but that does not mean I like it." He also described carrying out the death penalty as the worst part of his job as governor of Arkansas. In a December 2005 interview on PBS that he said that he has had to "carry out the death penalty more than any governor in the history of my state" and that "it is not something I'm proud of. 1. How can you listen to the nonsense that comes out that guy's mouth? 2. I might actually be ok with that. As I stated before (probably deleted), I'll take an honest well intentioned "liberal" that actually believes what he utters over a pandering opportunist that is trying to wear ill fitting "conservative" clothing any day. We have that now and where/what has it gotten us. Eg, swattin hornets nests in Iraq while Bin Laden roames free, 7 trillion dollars in debt... and this More than five years after President Bush created the Office of Faith-Based Initiatives, the former second-in-command of that office is going public with an insider’s tell-all account that portrays an office used almost exclusively to win political points with both evangelical Christians and traditionally Democratic minorities. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15228489/ More of that nonsense for me, no thanks buddy, my belly's full. The fact of the matter is. There is very little POLITICAL difference between Bush, Clinton, Obama, McCain, Huckabee...... I believe their main differences are in character. Unfortunately, character is VERY difficult to discern and most people don't vote character, they vote 30 second bites.
  22. Regarding Huckabee having "conservative" immigration policies.... some of his Republican Party opponents are criticizing his record on illegal immigration as being un-conservative and not in line with what American voters want from their next president. Some GOP Concerned about Huckabee's Immigration Views ..................When he was governor, Huckabee held the following positions on illegal immigration: He supported higher education benefits for children of illegal immigrants, opposed a federal roundup of illegals from his state in 2005, opposed a 2001 bill requiring proof of citizenship to vote in the state, and in 2001, a member of his administration pushed for legislation to grant driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewPolitics.asp?Page=/Politics/archive/200712/POL20071204b.html
  23. Here's an interesting bit of information ........ain't Google great. Obama says the death penalty "does little to deter crime" but he supports it for cases in which "the community is justified in expressing the full measure of its outrage." While a state senator, Obama pushed for reform of the Illinois capital punishment system and authored a bill to mandate the videotaping of interrogations and confessions. Clinton has been a longtime advocate of the death penalty. Clinton cosponsored the Innocence Protection Act of 2003 which became law in 2004 as part of the Justice for All Act. The bill provides funding for post-conviction DNA testing and establishes a DNA testing process for individuals sentenced to the death penalty under federal law. As first lady, she lobbied for President Clinton's crime bill, which expanded the list of crimes subject to the federal death penalty. McCain supports the death penalty for federal crimes. As senator from Arizona, he voted to prohibit the use of racial statistics in death penalty appeals and ban the death penalty for minors. He also supported legislation to allow the death penalty for acts of terrorism and has said he would consider further expansion of capital punishment laws for other crimes. Paul opposes the death penalty and would vote against it in "any legislative body he was a member of," according to campaign spokesman Jesse Benton. In 2005, Paul praised the late Pope John Paul II for being an "eloquent and consistent advocate for an ethic of life, exemplified by his struggles against abortion, war, euthanasia and the death penalty." http://pewforum.org/religion08/compare.php?Issue=Death_Penalty Woooo hooooo. My man Paul! So, if I were basing the "liberal" label solely on the death penalty, Paul, considered perhaps the most conservative, would be the only the liberal apple in the barrel.
  24. Here it is Friday evening, 3 whole days after super Tuesday and MSNBC has it... Obama 861 delegates Clinton 855 delegates While ABC has it.... Obama 994 delegates Clinton 1071 delegates If their professional political analysts can't figure it out by now, something is REALLY messed up. And then there are the "Super Delegates"...... Funny math and back room dealings ("Super Delegates" are just that) makes for not so funny outcomes in politics folks. No wonder so many people are starting to believe in conspiracies. No matter what the outcome, there are going to be big questions. I know that I'm going to have a hard time believing what happened when it is all said and done..... This is just plain wrong.
  25. OK. I'll ask it again.
