  1. To clean what, jewelery? Oh that. Strangely, there was no link when I wrote that. It has a piezoelectric transducer in it. When a voltage is applied, the piezoelectric material oscillates and emits sound waves. If you want to know more, you can easily Google piezoelectric material, piezoelectric transducer or ultrasonic cleaner. The sound waves put the molecules in the soda in motion.

  3. Actually, he may have started it, but we own it ...... We are obligated financially, legally (I'm actually not certain on that one...someone please help me or correct me here....can and/or does the world court, the Iraqi courts, the US courts, etc hold the USA liable?), politically, and morally to clean up the mess our elected officials (including congress) and their appointees created. Funny thing is (well not so funny actually), this could probably easily (relatively easily) be solved if we could find another murderous puppet, much like Sadam Hussein, to put in power......
  4. What you are refering to is at least in part due to hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties which help to determine protein shape. Hydrophillic proteins are generally dissolved in water at the proper pH and relatively hydrophobic proteins not so much. Proteins have hydrophobic (water loving) and hydrophobic (water disliking) character in different areas and this helps them form complex structures. Tertiary just means that they have a high or complex degree of structure (beyond primary and secondary structure). Coiling (alpha or beta sheets or coils) can be considered a tertiary type structure. Hydrophilic, hydrophobic, attractive and repulsive Van Der Wals, London forces, salt bridges, ionic interactions, hydrogen bonding, and other interactions serve to hold the tertiary structure together. Also, the proteins do not "dissolve" in the water in part because of the shear magnitude of their size. They are large biopolymers, the basic or primary structure of which is held together by covalent bonds which do not dissociate in water. These relatively large structures then associate to form HUGE structures like for example, hair. Solubility can be enhanced or decreased with various ions, surfactants, pH, or other things that can be added to the water or buffer which alter the intramolecular and intermolecular interactions I have listed above.
  5. Space men! That explains it. Beam me up. I'm ready. Edtharan, Great, or at least fun, answers. But I contest (or admit) that the calander that includes many dates that extrapolate into the future still seems quite difficult (to me anyway) using only simple implements.
  6. Unless it was for some secondary bacterial infection, that would probably be quackery. I often wonder how many people have actually died as a result of being given medications diluted to infinity wehn they have life threatening conditions. Given Homeopathy's popularity, one might speculate that the numbers should be significant. I even hear ads on the radio about Homeopathic Remedies and wonder what the heck the FDA is doing........

    SFN Elections

Got it. Just pull one lever and be done with it. That's very efficient. There's probably no need to waste time and effort with a bunch of annoying, independant facts and details like I've been doing. I'll bet I've wasted a lot time doing that. Could have been fishing. That's right. And it was very efficient thinking that got us here. Maybe we should all stop wasting time and effort and just go ahead and kill ourselves now.....
  8. What happened to "New Posts", "Last 5 Days"? .....complain, complain, always complaining...........
  9. Yeah yeah....boy meets boy...bla bla bla......Can we move on to the details about those countless women now ????
  10. All I can say is, you people are very brave.
  11. According to the Detroit Free Press, Iowa is 95% "White", so by most or perhaps even all measures, Obama has successfully jumped way over what was percieved to be a big barrier in his path. Quite impressive I think. Also, by most accounts that I have read or heard, African Americans (including my wife!) are still mostly behind Hillary out of loyalty to Bill. People keep telling me that the country is still too racist for him to stand a chance....but voila. He got HUGE support from the under 30 crowd, while the older caucus goers leaned strongly towards Hillary. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the country handles the percieved "color" barrier. But it's pretty exciting to see that, well, at least Iowa has apparently grwon up and moved passed it.

    Abortion Survey...

I have not made any logical fallacies. "force"...what? forcing people at gunpoint into reproductive acts? Please review the definition of force.

    Abortion Survey...

Here we go again with the force. I'm forcing who to do what and by what mechanism? If anything, I don't want physicians and often misinformed (IN MY OPINION) women who find themselves in "inconvenient" situations to force their will, and quite aggressively and permanently I might add, on very helpless victims

    Abortion Survey...

Sorry but you don't know what is going on in my mind. "force"? where does all this use of the term "force" come from? I don't and have not proposed to "force" anyone to do anything. Much like those sick, twisted, OFTEN misplaced, maligned...to save the life of the mother arguements, the what about incest arguments, etc, the images the pro-abrortion (aka pro-choice) machine (and yes it is a HUGE propoganda machine) tries to portray of the anti-abortion (many of us are simply anti genocide) side as a bunch of ignorant, 700 Club watching, puritanic, witch burners trying to force reproduction and pregnancies on unwilling, lucky enough to be full term people is absolutely ludacris. The ACLU, planned parenthood, NOW, etc are nothing if not effective in the art of psychology and imagry. I believe that we have pretty good evidence of that here. Besides, "force" is an active process; as is abortion. No abortion is not an active process, so where does all this use of force come into it? I simply propose, as others have before, that abortion should at least be removed from federal funding, and preferably not exist altogether. Because it is, in my opinion, GENOCIDE and I view a human life and a potential human life (including embryos and fetuses) as MUCH more precious than of a parasite, a cow, a tumor, etc. And you can't even pretend to tell me when life begins. My brother was born a little after 5 1/2 months. Was he alive? Obviously not, but he is in his early 40s now and quite healthy. So, when is it, 3 months, 6 months, able to survive outside of the womb? Nonsense. He would have DIED ON HIS OWN outside of the womb. So what kind of arrogance do we have that we just remove these parasites, embryos, fetuses that "can't survive on their own", tumors or whatever you choose to call the most helpless among us out of convenience; and no one can say for certain even what or who they are? Man, that's gotta be messed up. I disagree with genocide and I disagree with you regarding abortion. Period. So, why is that so hard to accept?

"We" does not include you, iNow? If it does not, I apologize for the misunderstanding. And if it does not, Para, please be specific regarding your OWN opinons. I can't keep up with they and we....

What might those consequences be? ??? It entered the picture when the government started funding abortions and abortion clinics through Medicaid among other sources.....around the time Roe v Wade was determined. There is a lot of info out there. So, exactly how is abortion not getting out of the consequences of pregnancy? "misrepresentation"??? Really? From where I sit, both you and iNow appear to be misrepresenting the value of human life and/or potential human life. Who labeled an unborn child a "parasite"? Who brought "forced reproduction" into it? It certainly wasn't me. I firmly stand behind my statements; no matter what you might think of them. And it certainly is not me who keeps bringing up how "inconvenient" pregnancy can be. But I will submit that pregnancy can in fact be inconvenient. Abortion is often a tough issue to discuss objectively....maybe impossible. But I state firmly that I respect your opinions. I just so happen to STRONGLY disagree with them.
  18. Hmmmm....I did hear last night that about 40% of the NHerites are independant. This might be interesting.

    Abortion Survey...

That is incorrect. Personal attack??? Feces??? Well, thank you for respecting my opinions and no thank you for the rest. From where I sit, it looks like you would prefer for everyone that disagrees with you to crawl under a rock. Who made you king?

Laugh while you can Monkey Boy.......... Wait! Look!....looks like denial. Smell!....smells like denial. Taste!......uhmmm, tastes like denial. Good thing you didn't step in it. Name one that involves terminating the life of another party. There is that word again "...convenience" "ewwww....there's this thing growing inside me and I had nothing to do with it getting there....ewwwww....get it out....." Grow up and play the hand "life" dealt you people. Nobody "forced you to reproduce". You slipped it in or spread your legs willingly. And stop forcing me (via the IRS) to be involved in your sick, ugly cover up. Broadly, the same "objective truth" that prevents your next door neighbor from killing you or starving their children to death. And more specifically, the "objective truth" that should not force me to pay a portion of my income to a physician or a "clinic" so that they can profit from the killing of a human being that just so happens to currently reside inside someone else's womb.....and the associated fees that the government pays the ACLU lawyers, planned parenthood, etc to keep that machine going And, since when did "morality" become irrelevant? Its absence does seem very convenient and serves several agendas. Is it time for all of the anarchy to begin ? I've been stocking up in anticipation..... I'm waiting to hear more about this "forced reproduction" thing. I predict that it will make for some very good reading. Do you know if there is a movie in the works?
  21. Yes. As iNow stated, you can survive falling from just about any height. However, after the fall, where the velocity abruptly returns to zero, can be very very hazardous to your health.
  22. Interesting and I respect your prediction, but where is all of this support for Maverick and Dr Paul going to come from.................

    Abortion Survey...

Unfortunately, some people do in fact think like that. Especially when the state or some state funded "charity" pays for the abortion. I have personally known several women that have had upwards of 6 abortions and have never used birth control pills because it makes them "fat" or condoms because their boyfirends did not like them. Your so called parasite, which is at the least a potential human being, has also done nothing to be penalized with a sentance of death. Your use of the term "parasite" is ridiculous. BTW: Is the victim of a partial-birth abortion also a "parasite". He did: You are 100% correct. I don't have right to force you to do or not do anything (BTW: Congradulations! I did know you were pregnant. I hope you take care of that parasite inside you.) But what I can do, have done, do do, and will continue to do is support and vote for candidates that support legislation that removes it from the realm of public funding and that, hoepefully, will eventually remove the "right to practice" so called "medicine" from Physicians that perform abortions on demand. And you do not have a right to terminate a life or a potential human being for conveninence, some absurd political agenda, or profit. At this point, I am more than a little bit convinced that this whole argument reagarding abortion in general is a lot more about narrow political agendas than a "right" or "rights". Who forced who to do what????????? Act like a dog in heat, slip it in, spread your legs, etc and there are consequences....sorry about that. But that's the way it is. It is only forced in the case of rape. Which, like "to save the life of the mother" is a VERY small percentage and has no place outside of the machine created by those with narrow political agendas. Thank you. Yep. That's what I do. I disagreed with you, therefore I am part of the mainstream..... I'm not placing a value judgement on conception. I am placing a negative value on the termination of a human being or a potential human being. I deny nothing. In fact, abortion can be viewed as just another sick form of denial. From where I sit, it is YOU that is in a state of denial. You deny that certain acts, like copulation, have certain consequences. Part of that denial is using the nanny state and my tax dollars to kill children in order resque people from the consequences of their own actions. Forced reproduction??? What do you know that I don't?? Is there some place in Arkansas where they are caging women and men like chickens in a chicken farm, and forcing them to breed???? That's awful! I must have missed something. Who said a human fetus, an embryo, or potential human being has MORE rights than the mother (or that the "parasite" has more rights than the "host")? Regarding denial. One thing that continues to amaze me is the denial of the emotional toll that abortion takes on the would be mother and the would be father. Everyone is quick to show sympathy up to and including the act of the abortive procedure, but then, once it is done, no one seems to give squat.
  24. Ouch!!
  25. Thanks! I think..... I simply meant that it is a fact that it was difficult to make calendars with the technology they had at hand.....so their calendars probably should not be expected to go on forever.....so where should one expect them to end? I know that if was making a calendar out of rocks, I certainly would not try to make it go on to infinity........ That said, I believe that I did read somewhere that the Mayan calendars go BACK some million or millions of years.......but I believe that my point still has merit.
