  1. Here is a very cool presentation on the early univ...the formation of hydrogen and helium are near the end. http://www.authorstream.com/Presentation/WoodRock-11531-early-universe-News-Reports-ppt-powerpoint/
  2. I'll bet you a dollar I can keep my head frozen longer than you.
  3. Exactly. That's why I'm only going to have my head frozen.
  4. Not likely. I would love to have heard that seminar..... "We are here today with our special guest, The Human Torch, to tell you about a brand new weight loss formula, called Flame On. Mr Torch is the inventor of Flame On and the president and CEO of Light Me Up Enterprizes. Now Mr Torch, isn't it true that the drug companies and the FDA don't want the public to know about this revoltutionary new weight loss product? Uhm..excuse me, but unfortunately, Mr Torch can't speak right now because he seems to be consumed in fire. But, Mr Torch did tell me earlier that Flame On burns fat cells like no other weight loss product on the market because it actually transforms your own mitachondria into itty bitty hot little furnaces. It does have just one minor side effect that only 8 or 9 dozen or so out of a hundred users may experience....in these rare cases it causes SHC, also known as spontaneous human combustion. For a limited time only, we are offering Flame On to our first 100 customers at our special, low, low introductory price of only $39.95. That's right folks, just $39.95 plus shippping and handling and you to can burn your way to a lighter, slimmer, hotter you. And it really makes a great gift."
  5. Thanks. I finally got a chance to read it....I didn't realize it was going to be so short.... I see now. Well, hopefully this will really blow up and both the DNC and RNC will be forced to release their hostages (us). Sometimes, the best you can hope for is chaos. Entropy rules any way.
  6. The first problem I see is that the cells (even fat cells) are mostly water so unless you can figure out a way to make fire start under water, flame off. Transponders?
  7. Hmmm, so since Florida moved their date up (I forgot who the other one was Michigan maybe?), by law, New Hampshire must move theirs up....... ......so does New Hampshire also get penalized (they all wobble and fall down)?
  8. Dear Human Torch, Well I guess one advantage is you won't have to worry about being fat anymore. But, proven how and what weight loss idea? PS: At what temperature do you figure that the enzyme stops working?
  9. Never mind. Just avoid the creationism garbage, lies, and falsehoods.......or your eternal soul will burn in hell....forever....and your little dog Toto too...
  10. Not too worried about offending anyone are we?
  11. Maybe he/she wants to make some imaginary drugs.
  12. You might try Google terms = "abiogenesis" or "origin of life". You'll find a lot, but Wikipedia has some pretty good, not too technical explanations for these.
  13. Odd. What exactly does that law state?
  14. "Like every great religion of the past we seek to find the divinity within and to express this revelation in a life of glorification and the worship of God. These ancient goals we define in the metaphor of the present — turn on, tune in, drop out." Uncle Tim
  15. Very sorry to hear YT. Which over the counter or "down home" remedies do put the most stock in ? BTW when I moved west (fro the midwest) about 10 yrs ago, I quickly developed pretty bad rheumatoid arthritis in my fingers (at least that was what the Dr called it) my fingers were swollen badly and in a lot of pain for about 2 years. Probably nothing on the scale of what you are going through though. The Dr perscribed the regular Cox inhibitors which didn't do much at all and pain meds and then bam....it just kind went away. I assumed that it was something in my new environment that my body didn't like initially but eventually just got used to. So my question to you is, how much of a factor do you believe that allergans or other things in the environment play in arthritis (yours or others)?
  16. Good question. And I'm not that kind of chemist, but I'll take a shot at it any way. A third particle (surface) seems to be necessary to carry away the energy released in the reaction so molecular hydrogen is formed on tiny specks of dust ("star dust"). The tiny rains of dust can be formed, for example, when carbon and oxygen atoms coalesce. Since elements like carbon and oxygen are formed inside stars, perhaps the carbon and oxygen had to wait for the first stars or star-like bodies to form from collapsing clouds of hydrogen plasma (hydrogen atoms). That sound about right? EDIT: rains = I meant grains
  17. Great post Sweatersdotc! It made me want to dust off PIHKAL. Welcome to Scienceforums.
  18. Yeah. I think it is amazing. And molecular hydrogen doesn't form just by a chance encounter of two hydrogen atoms floating around in empty space. A surface is needed to make the chemical reaction occur and evidence seems to indicate that molecular hydrogen forms on tiny grains of interstellar dust.
  19. Which particular flavored oils are you talkin 'bout?
  20. Hot chili, gin and cookies with pot in 'em? If this gets out, everybody will have arthritis.
  21. Theory or no theory, I just hope that it is correct, so we don't all float off into space. And if the big bang theory is incorrect, it would mean that the universe doesn't exist so I must be close to the next stop, which is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. A dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. The middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition.

Me thinks cojones. Big cojones and stubbornness. I think a lot of people have a feeling for the answers to a lot of problems. The problem is might be that they don't have enough self confidence to follow through because they have been beat down so bad (as children, in the playground, in preschool, in school, at work, at home, in life, etc). The result is they adopt a pack or herd (aka partisan) mentality and act like wolves or sheep, respectively. Maybe a really good pack leader or good sheep herder just gives people the confidence to act in ways that they already know instinctively are right. I think MLK made it stick and helped people be brave. Everybody, in the south at least, already knew what was going on.

To be honest, I haven't thought much about how Paul might tickle the left's funnybones. But if sufficient numbers of "democrats" dislike Hillary enough and sufficient numbers of "republicans" hate Rudy enough.....he might stand......about an ice cube's chance in hell as a 3rd partyadate.....but if that scenario unfolds, there's a good chance he would get at least one vote (mine). Three cheers for hate! It's the best we can hope for.
  24. Unfortunately this strategy only seems to work well for tom cats, rock stars, and professional athletes any more.......
