  1. One question, do we want to take the thread in this direction?
  2. I'm sorry, every available resource points to the fact that certain nations whose infrastructures weren't razed saw a curious upswing during the 1939-45 time period. Odd. Truly odd.
  3. Global Impact? Hmmmm.....There are so many more sources out there....... Shall I continue?
  4. Hmmm......Henry Ford as an Avatar.....Interesting concept. I would love to go on forever on this subject, but the ever so well thought out argument of "your opinion is mindless drivel," has me beat. Oh hell, I admit defeat.
  5. OK, these are my patented plans, no infringement please Gravity harnessing device
  6. Get your hands on som habaneros, or what have you. Grind the seeds in your handy dandy mortar and pestle, and then immerse in 90% isopopryl alcohol.(available at your local grocer/pharmacy) Let this stand for a day or two, shaking every now and then. Distill to desired potency.
  7. Quick, simple, and most importantly it will work. Example
  8. Always keep it simple, use an agressive tread like those used for wheelchair lifts.
  9. Well then, I suppose all of us that don't live on the continent are fools. Is it so ethnocentric to look at the facts as they apply to the United States?

Could this disparity in percentages be due to the fact that the so called haves comprise such a small portion of the population? Well, I've read volume I, The Process of Production of Capital. While I find his views somewhat appealing, I have to admit that this is not a utopian world. On a side note, do you not think it a shame that the majority associate Bolshevism with Marxism? It turns my stomach when I hear someone refer to the former Soviet Union as a Marxist state. Not to be a war monger here, but it has been shown time and again that war can be an economic boon, ie. our entrance into WWII ended the great depression rather than the new deal. Yes, Halliburton is making a killing, as is KBR. And yes, I was a bit irked about all this but I can look upon the good done and the friendships made, and that by far outweighs the negative.
  11. Why don't you just use a submersible pump? Run your steam through the impeller to a condenser and then back to the boiler at your discretion.....Motor produces current. Of course youd need a relief valve on the boiler, but that goes without saying.
  12. Drugs win war on drugs.
  13. Well, I'm sitting here at work looking at this lovely piece of hardware, and am brainstorming ideas on driving my coworkers insane. Any ideas? Bear in mind I work at an electronics manufacturing firm, so we can be a bit creative. Any input would be appreciated.

That's precisely what I have taken umbrage with. It does not apply in any way to our volunteer system. The haves do serve, and continue to serve. May I point out one well known example: John Kerry. We can go round and round on this for hours. And by the way, I much prefer Bakunin to Marx or Engels.

Oh but you did, you clearly alluded to the iniquity of military service, and then to the demographics of said organization.

Actually it is a point in western militaries to have the lower enlisted question their superiors to some extent. That is why article 92 of the UCMJ states violation of a "lawful order." We are not expected to commit attrocities, as the Nuremburg trials showed. I was just following orders is not a valid defence in a military court. And I'm really sick of hearing how the middle and lower classes are the majority of our armed forces.

I hate to use the old have you been there argument, but I now will. Yes the occupation was a bit mucked up, but I don't see it quite the same as most of you. During my time in southern Iraq, the vast majority of shiia were open and friendly, I can't recall how many times i was invited into homes for tea and a meal. The discussions I had lead me to believe that they are genuinely pleased with the prospect of self determination. It was the same up north with the kurds, and to a lesser extent in the so called sunni triangle. Yes I was shot at, but for the most part i never saw a situation that was untenable if operations were conducted properly.
  25. Good one, plant derived compounds are always a good choice.
