  1. I'd just like to point out that a google search for "continuity of arcsin" reveals this thread as the top link I've not got any further with it using a delta-epsilon argument. The problem seems to manipulating arcsin (which is a bit of a git to get around any day of the week) to get what you want out of it.

    Could be wrong here' date=' but I think that [math']f(x) = |x|[/math].
  3. I'm not trying to say that it might be fun to see lots of people get their homes destroyed, but I'd like to see a hurricane up close once. I reckon it'd be something to remember.
  4. I've been around there, it's a nice place
  5. Well, he can emulate it using another copy of Messenger can't he?

    Chances are it's probably a rip-off

Most insurance is dealt with like that (i.e. a premium based system). There's not many things like credit card insurance around.
  10. I don't do definition arguments, they get on my nerves. To all extents and purposes, try2hack invites people to gain access to their system - according to my opinion/definition of hacking.
  11. I'm not sure of any packet sniffers' names, but I can tell you that a packet sniffer will effectively "sit over" a port, read the incoming packet, store it in some manner and then send it out again. It's useful to see what programs are outputting what information to the web.
  12. It appears I'm out of touch with the world of superconductors It'll be nice when they have them up to room temperature. I'd like to see some microprocessors with superconducting connectors before too long

This isn't really the same as "normal" insurance in that you don't have to pay a premium to get the cover; any purchases you make are automatically covered.
  15. I don't participate because (for the most part) the programs annoy me for some peculiar reason. I used to quite a lot though.
  16. A lot of hacking is simply done by guessing people's passwords and/or cracking them to a certain extent. I think it's a pretty good test of someone's h4x0r sk1llz myself. Just because it isn't illegal doesn't mean it isn't hacking a system.
  17. Packet sniffers.
  18. Like to say that this thread has some pretty much invaluable information in it, so I'd like to thank Martin for it. I'm also making the thread sticky.
  19. No, superconductors have no resistance at all. They work at extremely low temperatures - I think the latest ceramic stuff works at about 30K.

I thought you were from the states before looking at your location. However, over here the insurance comes as part of the legislation behind it (consumer credit act?) and you don't have to pay for it.

No, but it's certainly one at the top of GD. It's likely he's going to click on someting like that because it seems a bit off-topic and it's at the top of the forums page.
  22. I'd trust Microsoft as far as I can throw them to be honest. If it works with that port being blocked, you may as well just keep it blocked.

And then what happens when he finds this thread?

How are they going to "charge you more"? The insurance comes with the card when you sign the agreement and is a part of legislation over here - I guess it's the same at your side of the pond.
