  1. It sounds absurd to be out of space and time. It would be like you're never and nowhere. And did time exist before space? Well time couldn't have existed on its own. I mean, who for? Time showed up together with matter, as a manifestation of one and other. *feeling sleepy*
  2. Ummm.. sure? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_induction
  3. I think this is one of SFN's best. And it's not a matter of luck. If you make good posts, you help people, share what you know with the others you will surely get reps. Though I don't understand how some really brilliant guys here got such low rep status.

    Life Spans

    I think moo has given a good and rational thought on her first post. That is what I think too. Roughly, what organisms in general live for is to manage to somehow get the energy needed to perform metabolic processes.
  5. Not really, it is a catalytic oxidation.[ce]4NH3 + 5O2 -> 4NO + 6H2O[/ce]
  6. History of time?? That sounds strange to me, but if it was any philosophical explanation, just let it go!
  7. You indeed need infinite energy. [math]E=\frac{m_0 c^2}{\sqrt{1-\beta^2}}[/math] as [math]\beta[/math] is [math]\frac{v}{c}[/math] and you get at c, you get zero under the fraction (in the first equation) and you know what that means!
  8. B = magnetic induction
  9. You just need to know the oxidation numbers, of the elements and based on that you can then put the indexes to equalize those oxidation numbers and this gets you to the correct formula.
  10. Don't think so. There DIY experiments are usually done in room-conditions so I don't think there might have been a temperature change that could possibly affect.
  11. You can try with [math]v=\sqrt{2gh}[/math].
  12. It was considered as a medium through which EM waves would move, so it was considered as matter (AFAIK).
  13. Well sparkling water contains a lot of things that normal water doesn't so I wouldn't really expect to dissolve in the same rate. And I think Mr Skeptic is right, carbonic acid (although a weak acid) does affect the pH rate and this probably might be what you're looking for.
  14. I think a transformator would do fine.
  15. The antigravity is just a misconception!
  16. This is not the homework section and if I really needed a quick answer and didn't get one I'd be pissed off. I got bad experience from 'trying to get you to the answer', it's you either tell the answer or stop trying to be the smart guy which tries to lead you to the answer.
  17. Sure it is, there is lots of room out there that's for sure, but the problem is with us. We are not ready yet and not able to travel to other planets and stay there like we do inside our lovely Earth!
  18. Oh dear,
  19. Oh, that's nice, but I'm dead sure it's way too much hard work.
  20. Out of curiosity, what does you avatar mean? I've always wanted to ask you about this:-)
  21. That'd be [ce]H2SO4 + 2NaOH -> Na2SO4 + 2H2O[/ce]. This is because the neutralization reaction: acid + base = salt + water [ce]Mg(OH)2 + H2CO3 -> MgCO3 + 2H2O[/ce] the reason is the same as the first reaction.
  22. If I had a chance to get "back" just once, I'd kill Bush and end the suffering!
  23. In that case we wouldn't really pass through time AT ALL!
  24. I read the post you atamim, and completely enjoyed it, but I also did another thing; I filtered out the religious thing, could you please do the same thing on your posts? I hope you understand, Shade
  25. A very good thread Lance. We all agree that smoking does you bad, quite bad, and ironically smokers do too. I mean, my dad has been a smoker for all this life (for about 35 yrs) and he regularly smokes about 2 packs a day. That's too damn worrying. I really care about him and many many times I've told him about the risk of smoking, and he just won't quit it. He says 'I perfectly understand that it's too bad, but I just can't give it up kid, it's not that easy!'. This makes me annoyed. He once tried to give it up for a week, but it's interesting to note that he used to become angry very fast during that week. He didn't manage to give it up. The irony here is that smokers itself do understand the damages that smoking causes but they just won't give it up. Indeed stupidity is infinite. Then also there is very little awareness in schools about the negative effects of smoking. I finished my primary school, my secondary school and now I'm on uni and yet there is not A SINGLE case when some NGO or any kind of group came to our school and talk, just talk about the bad effects of smoking. How could is be expected then from out youth not to be smokers. This is complete irony and it's totally our government's fault! They are just so not interested!
