What is the number of males or females that post on SFN
thedarkshade replied to Reaper's topic in The Lounge
And I'd really like to know why is that? -
I think this is pretty simple. At school we use: [math]\frac{m}{M}=\frac{N}{L}[/math] where m=mass M=molar mass N=number of atoms and L is a constant; and in this case m is what you are looking for. Having this equation, the rest is just math:D

I think it won't (or small) since the velocity of earth is constant (well not entirely)!

Alveoles are filled with oxygen due to diffusion, and it's diffusion that applies to the question where I mentioned alveoles!
-
Isn't [math]b=\frac{n}{m}[/math] used here?

finding the concentration of hydrogen peroxide
thedarkshade replied to anabourdais's topic in Homework Help
If you know the concentration in the first solution, then you can find out the second one by: [math]c_1V_1=c_2V_2[/math] -
Yeah sure:doh:, thanks a lot CC!

World sucks? Well.... sometimes... but most of the time no!

What is a good pictorial representation of an atom?
thedarkshade replied to Mag's topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
The microscope that I think allows you best to see atoms is Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM) -
Did I misspell it???? edit: upsss didn't notice it was in the HW... it didn't use to be in front page!!!

School in Maine gives out birth control pills.
thedarkshade replied to Nick_Spanich's topic in Ethics
Did I say there was something wrong with it? I'm just saying that 'having sex' is not the same in all countries (in a metaphorical way of course), due to different traditions countries have. Think of having sex just for fun in islamic countries!!! -
I'd say yes! After all, osmosis is a physical process and that means that substances move from the place with greater concentration to a place with smaller concentration! And (as you may know) the difference of osmosis from diffusion is that in osmosis substances move through membrane!. None of them (diffusion , osmosis) uses energy, they're physical processes. Active transport does! Think of how oxygen enters in alveoles and you'll get the right answer. It's a matter of diffusion:rolleyes: Distilled water is not suggested due to lack of some very important salts for organism!

And that specifically refers to....?

Nothing wrong with it! It's just that the guy wants to become a scientist: astronomer or physicist or something like that, and related to this, army is just a rough advice.

Probably because Kosova represent a new country born and being developed in a democratic way, according to all democratic international laws, and on the other side Iraq represent a country being destructed in a horrible and not-human way!

And that is merciless!

My personal opinion is Yes, it promotes sex, and I know that's sad (at least I think so). But it really depends in what country you are, because traditions are a very important part of every country, and sometimes traditions are cruel indeed! i.e. In the country I come from, you have to get married with the person you have sex. Honestly! Virginity here is considered saint and this is one of the things I hate about my place. And 'anti-baby' pills just make sex more comfortable! By the way, I read on the paper today that a 16-year-old girl has had her 7th child, and not only that, but triplets, and that her second triplet! -
It is indeed moving closer together if you're referin to EU countries, but to enter EU you must fulfill some conditions, which now we are still not in condition to. And how could we improve our conditions and therefore move closer to EU if we didn't have control of our own country? Independence was the only way!

I'd strongly recommend you to focus a lot more in science, since there are many many very interesting things and facts that will make you forget the rest. Plus, you will gradually start to find out how world works then you in a way are reading God's mind. All what you seem to be interested in you will find by just science. It's the thing:rolleyes:!

This does not refer to 'just beyond' but I've read that the average temperature of the universe is -270 C...the cold death... and IIRC due to expansion of the universe this is expected to continue decreasing. So will absolute zero be reached in a natural way?... I don't know... perhaps, but thermodynamics still says it can't!

Well, N is one of these four that make 98% of our all, so I'm not surprised it's there too, though I don't know how. But according to Wiki, nitrogen in neurotransmitters if found in form of NO, and is found in those called 'gaseous including transmitters'! Only few plants have the ability to use the nitrogen from the air, and that is due to some bacterias they have in their roots, and other plant who don't use nitrogen from [ce]NH4+[/ce] slats, through a process called (IIRC) nitrification.

I'm not sure if I really understand here, but there is a difference between electrostatic and electricity flow
