Absolutely! A success that contains few failures is more valuable than success with no failure!

Don't worry Sam, it's all fine! And lucaspa, I think you got a point! When I read your post, the first thing it came to my mind was the hard fact that I had to get used to getting up very early in the morning to go to school after a long holiday! I guess we all (including animals) get used to every kind of stuff!! Cheers!

No no Martin, listen. We take Big Bang as the beginning of time and everything(or don't we?). So to say before the time began, then actually where does that before fit in? Not in time since time had not begun yet!

Reacting directly with hydrogen does not give directly an acid. First there is formed the anhydride. By reacting directly with Br and H you get HBr but it turns into and acid only when dissolved in water. And reacting directly with hydrogen usually requires catalysts and specific temperatures. From crystals? Acidic oxides in reaction with water give acids.

First of all, it's darkshade! It's simply an ignorance toward the pain. That does not make the pain smaller! And our reaction toward that pain in that case would be instinctive and unconscious! The simplest rule of what you call a "pain management" is to move away from what causes pain. That's not a hard thing to do, all animals do that! The difference it that we know it will hurt, so we can avoid it in various ways.

I feel this for you my friend. Never think that you cannot make it. Yesterday I read about Craig Venter, a guy who didn't use to have good school marks and made a revolution in science. Having fun, hanging around and enjoying life is just as important as learning and having good marks. I'm a high school student too. I do have good marks, but sometimes I get crazy with my teachers. They always have these stupid ways of putting you down. I know how that feels. But don't worry man. Just pay attention to the subjects you will need (chemistry and biology) and try to learn things rationally. Don't take for granted everything your teachers say, or everything that is written in the book. Do things in the way you want to, just get to real answers. That will make your scientific abilities creative. And work hard, but never overwork. That will mess you completely, believe me! Keep going bro, you gonna make it! Cheers, Shade

That's because it has two electrons in the outer shell. Its his fundamental chemical characteristic, just like sodium +1, fluorine -1, potassium +1 etc!

[ce]Cl2 + H2O -> HCl +HOCl[/ce]

The fruit, the acid, and the cast iron cookware
thedarkshade replied to gonelli's topic in Homework Help
I don't know why nobody posted at this thread, but I'm very sure that anyone who knew stuff about your question would have helped you. And gonelli, we're not suppose to give straight answers here, just hints that might be useful to you. You seem to have finished what you needed, but a hint to this would have been the definition of what an acid is. Since [ce]H^+[/ce] means acid, and acids in solutions give protons, then there must be something else that accepts those protons.[ce]H^+[/ce] by giving protons reaches a neutral charge state and the one that accepts the protons is charged. That is what happens in your equation! -
The concept of time in philosophy is one of the most important, and in the last century it has awaken a great interest on the field of physics too. Time began somehow! That is true! But it began in a genetic aspect, and that makes the words "before" "until" "right before" completely meaningless when we refer to how time began. So what the hell is time? Well, I guess we'd all like to know, is that it's just far too complicated. It surely is not eternal as it began at one point and will end at some point. In philosophy time is part of the subjective idealism. That means time exists as long as there is something that can feel time. In other words, the existence of time is depended from the observer. But don't get me wrong here, it's not like we can see it, we just feel it, have a concept for it and move through it and space too. Now moving through time is why time can't be considered as a flow, since we use time to measure the flow. We can't use time to measure time (check iNow's sign...). So time cannot exist if there is nothing that flows through time. Think of time without space or matter or energy. These four are the main basic words of everything. Time matter space energy! Take one out and none of them makes sense! One of the definitions that I personally like is that time is a mind dimension. It's something that is in us, because we feel it. I actually can see no other rational view of it! We remember the past since it lies in our memories, we feel the present due to our perceptibility, and think for future due to our expectations. It's all a minds works, honestly! But yet, I'd go with iNow's signature. Time is one of those concepts that is profoundly resistant to a simple definition! A fancy way to dismiss the possibility of a definition!

I'm not sure if I'm following right here, but the only way to turn the pain off is to stop feeling it any more, and you do that only when you have no electric impulse going through your nerves! The dog will keep yelping as long as he feels the injury. It will stop yelping only when the pain effect starts to wear off! It does hurt. It's just that you're far more concentrated at something else and your reflex toward the excitation needs no concentration, it happens in a instinctive way!
-
I think this makes logical sense, since the word before is absolutely meaningless when we refer to Big Bang. What I'm trying to say is that (as I have read) the beginning lies in Big Bang. Our universe once was at that single zero volumed infinite dense point. It began right there.
-
It might actually just look like that. After all, the reaction toward an excitation depends on the rate of electric impulse it causes. It's all a buch of nerves!
-
You got a point about this moo! There was really no explosion, because it is often called "the ancient explosion". It's just the creation of everything from nothingness, followed by a Rapid Expansion that still goes on!
-
If you're doing that on a flat surface, some sand would do fine!

PM me so I can get a better picture of what you're talking about. If you're referring to the space (for example) between electrons and nucleus, it's not really space, it's filled with electron wave. Sorry if I don't reply fast, but this is gonna be a hell of a busy week for me. I've got some tricky trig math tests and I really need to practice them a lot. Thanks for your time!

Subjective or a mind dimension. Definitely not a flow!
-
It's an interesting relatively new filed, worth to explore!

What do you mean elas? What do you actually mean when you say space? Please define it!

So what's your impression for the forum CrazCo? Honestly>! -
Yeah, I've seen stuff like that too! There is just one trick, dividing by zero. Just out numbers instead of variables and you will see that it actually doesn't work!

Yeah, yeah I know and watch that every day, but you promised us a monthly one remember? (post #18)
