  1. Cool YT, absolutely practical. When I made repulsion and attraction maximum and made friction zero, The stuff was going just together and break all the time, and it came to my mind the stuff about universe coming together and breaking apart again. Neat! YT ,Martin, swansont, thanks for the wonderful links:D:D!
  2. Just go into the five minutes of the new month! Time for a monthly stat Cap'n>!
  3. Hmmmm, weird and interesting questions Vic. This is the first time that I hear such question asking for a scientific explanation. If we get into stuff like this, then we will end up asking a lot of other questions, which may be in the limit of irrationalizm, but if there something that can explain this in a scientific way, I'd honestly love to see that.
  4. 1. Yes, the simplest definition possible, although I personally think not complete! And you know, in this world there is nothing but possibilities!
  5. Depends on the kind of biology! I always hated when we had to deal with plants:doh:!
  6. It truly gives you an impression of empty space doesn't it:rolleyes:!
  7. What made it go off? I love the TMO thing:D:D!
  8. Then an explanation shows why did you get that idea and how it's happening! Why did you picture it the way you pictured it! Feel free to do this anytime! We're always intending toward perfection:cool:! Cheers
  9. It's not really literally anti, like the inverse function. It's just the negative logarithm, as follows: [math]pH=-log10^{-7}[/math] [math]pH=-(-7)log10[/math] [math]pH=-(-7)[/math] [math]pH=7[/math] You get the same for pOH too. That's why pH + pOH = 14 (or [math]-log10^{-14}[/math])!
  10. Jonathan mentioned resistance. You can refer to resistance as a barrier to electrons, and because of which electricity cannot be conducted with 100% efficiency. The resistance increases with respect to temperature. The greater the temperature, the greater the resistance, the greater the electricity loss. Everything greater huh!!! And the other way around too. Why a conductive decrease with increase in temperature? Well, heat is energy, and when electrons get more they move on to a higher energetic level, they move faster and the probability of collisions and the number of collisions is greater, so there is less efficiency on conduction. And the other way around too. You can measure the resistance with temperature change by: [math]R=R_0(1 + \alpha t)[/math] You may have heard of superconductors. The basic principle is that you cool them up to a point when rotation movements of electrons stop, and them all electrons move in a collective way. There are no individual trajectories and all electrons have the same direction. Resistance at that point is zero. More about this on Wiki I've heard something of high-temperature superconductivity too. Just google for that. Cheers, Shade
  11. I was thinking that there should be a panel that would show whose birthday is today (or any day), just like the online panel that shows who's online!
  12. A google search came with: http://dactaq.blogspot.com/2008/01/phosphatidylcholine.html
  13. Indeed it does, but I think that in every country this is considered not as a good element, of course when not covered at least. Some countries really have interesting habits. In some part of Africa to get spit is considered a honor! That's just a footballers way to get rid of what's inside in a fast way. If you'd only seen my chemistry teacher sneezing:eek: ! It's like a bomb suddenly explodes! It's freaky terrifying man! That's just a fancy way of saying 'disgusting'!
  14. I think ChemSiddqui meant this on a more generalized aspect!
  15. I think the word "description" is used more for physical features, while "explanation" can me applied to any occurring phenomenon. Besides, "description" means how it's happening while "explanation" means why it is happening. Any strong reason for your proposal?
  16. I've thought of that you know, but I think my pockets keeps them warm enough! And I feel better too:D:D:D! I'd take that a positive element!
  17. Jonathan is purely right when mentions finance. Sometimes that's a bid barrier to go through, although every penny for any of the above unis is absolutely worth it!
  18. The Ultimate Situation! I've had in mind that phrase for a long time. I think it's about what scientists think world will be when they have a scientific explanation about everything, literally everything. So you know all about everything, then what? Then everything would be science, and that's what scientists love.
  19. In a bizarre way are right! But it's not hacking that really concerns us, just those stupid viruses make your MSN go sing in and out, and other time-taking complications! In other words, I HAVE BEING LAUGHED AT, and in a way that's what viruses are all about!
  20. Have you ever tried uninstalling AVG, then installing another antivirus (like NOD32 or Kaspersky) and scanning the whole PC? It'll find a lot of stuff! Besides, the activation update of AVG takes a lot of time, and so do regular updates! Cheers!
  21. Once again John, the classical view and my personal opinion is that gravity is a characteristic of an object, just like mass, height, width etc. And how that works? Well, GR gives a fine explanation I believe and if you find a place in GR where what you're saying fits in, then you have a reason to debate!
  22. Sure it is! Science tastes well enough I can say! Oh, and yeah, I get money by lecturing things I learn here>!(high school student)! I told you all I'm naughty!
  23. That wouldn't look like that to an outside observer! What you are mentioning here is Lorentz contraction ([math]l=l_0\sqrt{1-\beta^2}[/math]), a vague relation to your proposed model!
  24. If any cosmologist would answer me this way, I'd consider that as a "not to get stuck" answer!
