Riogho is right! You need to know this too: [math]Kw=[OH^-][H^+]=[1\times 10^{-7}\frac{mol}{dm^3}][1\times 10^{-7}\frac{mol}{dm^3}][/math] [math]Kw=1\times 10^{-14}\frac{mol^2}{dm^6}[/math] Not try to find pH using antilog that Riogho mentioned! Note: pH represent the concentration of [math]H^+[/math] ions! edit: swansont don't remove my post please, it's not the answer:D! Cheers, Shade

OK, thanks Atheist, your post is absolutely great and it matches with what I have recently read. But what I need is a yes/no answer. Does a black holes have size zero?

thanks for the links Snail, I'll go through them when I have much more leisure time! Thnx again, Shade

It is true, believe me! Every time I have said this to someone, even to physics majors, they have laughed and have all asked me one question "Then why don't we blow thing up with chocolate?". But the difference stands in power. Chocolate DOES have energy 8 times grates than TNT per gram. But Chocolate releases that energy through a series of processes that we call metabolism. And it releases than energy in more time, and that makes it less powerful. On the other side, TNT releases its energy on the thousandth of a second, and according to: [math]P=\frac{A}{t}[/math] that makes it more powerful than chocolate. TNT releases it's energy a lot faster than chocolate, but chocolate has 8 times the energy of TNT. And also an important fact is that TNT has all the molecules that it needs to explode. It needs nothing more (except to light the fuse) to release all the energy it contains. But chocolate need to combine with air and through metabolism it releases this energy. If we take out the fact that chocolate needs to combine with air, then again chocolate wins and has 4 times the energy of TNT. FACT! There are ~ 1000 radioactive K-40 explosions per second, the rest comes from C-14 (like you said ) and other sources (which I don't exactly know)! Cheers, Shade

One reason why the negation of the axiom of choice is true
thedarkshade replied to Adib's topic in Mathematics
Of course! It still is and will always be. There is no way out without it. -
Is this thread going in this direction...
-
Chocolate chip cookies have 8 times the energy of TNT. FACT! When the asteroid hit the Earth 65 million years ago (dina... extinction), it had energy 100 times its mass in TNT. FACT! You are radioactive! FACT! Every second you have 3000 radioactive explosions in your body. FACT! Every second your body is penetrated by millions of particles. FACT!

Oh, the thread I was looking for! Lately I had a discussion with someone related to black holes. He says that black holes have size zero. But I have seen the term "radius" many many times when reading about black holes. Now how can you measure the radius of something that has size zero? Or do black holes have zero size after all?
-
Yes CharonY, that is what I meant to say! After discussing with my friend (the one I heard that from), he said what you have just posted above (although he did that in a vague way)! Thanks for the info!

Finally there seems to be chance for a breakthrough! I hope there come something good out of it because I never really liked the adjective "dark"!

Winner.... Thnx a lot! ... I needed this equation to finish the second part of my drill...

Possible Solution to Energy Problem & Reducing Global Warming

Absolutely meaningful! It's a lawful universe, isn't it:rolleyes: ... -
No no, one of the ways of getting chlorine is the reaction between hydrochloric acid and substances with high oxidation features ([ce]KMnO4[/ce] or [ce]MnO2[/ce]). You'd definitely get chlorine there.... but I'm stuck at what else? edit: one way is: [ce]2KMnO4 + 16HCl -> 2KCl + 2MnO2 + 5Cl2 + 8H2O[/ce] but what about with [ce]MnO2[/ce]

If you really like what it then don't be afraid at all! I used to have a lot of stress during my physics classes, but I got over that! It's no big deal really! There are two things you should know: will and hard work! There is nothing that you cannot achieve with these two. (at least they worked for me) Cheers, Shade -
I got an equation here but I can't damn recall how to finish it... some help plz... [ce]MnO2 + HCl -> ?[/ce] I know that this is a way to get elementary chlorine but that's it!

I thought that it had something to do with dark matter. I mean, dark matter is somehow like a glue that keeps galaxies together (right?), and that it could be the reason that it might pull the universe together back again, but there seems not to be enough dark matter (23%) compared to dark energy (73%) which actually is speeding up the universe expansion!

yourdadonapogos: That confusing because + and - should be one on top of other, and I don't know the LaTeX procedure to do that...

second per second would give 1 , no unit! edit: and time does not have speed, it is a dimension
-
TL: If you're stuck only to quadratic equation then maybe this will help: [math]X_{1/2}=\frac{-b +- \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}[/math]
-
I am kinda lost now in this thread... Why don't you just tell me the equation and I'll to give you the answer...
-
OK, I must have "overunderstood". Imaginary numbers are within complex number!
-
Imaginary and complex numbers are the same thing [math]\sqrt{-1}=i[/math] [math]i^2=-1[/math] [math]i^3=-i[/math] [math]i^4=1[/math]

What's the next language you want to learn?
thedarkshade replied to bascule's topic in Computer Science
Haha:D When I saw the title of this thread, I thought to myself: "Definitely French". But then I saw it was about programming languages! -
Well I suggest you to get used with it, because after all, it is that way how our universe is. If you have any other opinion about the limits of universe, we'll all be very glad to hear. Cheers, Shade
