I've seen someone whose avatar is a female holding a microphone on the hand, but maybe not a female. That was the only case I've seen so far and that's why I asked (I know it's silly).

It's kinda weird that I have still not "met" any female here at SFN. All are males! Is there a policy about that (just joking:D) or no interest in the kind of science it is discussed here?

You know, sometimes I just stare at something (with no intention) as part of relaxing and "see" many figures. You can almost see anything, it's enough to have seen it once or imagined it and there you go, you got the picture on the wall! But what lostinspace has seen (or imagined) is also what four other saw together with him. So I don't think that the "brain work" stuff is relevant.

If consciousness can be formulated just as the capability of sensing and responding to world, then this can be applied to other creatures (except human) too, but I strongly believe that the concept of consciousness is far more complicated (I'm tired of singing the same song over and over:doh:)!

All the organisms do not belong to the same level. The must be some qualification, and maybe tree is not the right word that's why I put it in quotations marks.

So far, humans are the highest level in the evolution "tree". And I think that the main reason for this "leadership" is the fact that our brain (as the center of the organism) is far more advanced than the other mammals. We (as human) have the ability to understand the world around us, understand time, predict, discover, modify, and create new concepts, create new theories and tend to understand everything in the sorrounding world. We have the high ability to learn (other animals do to but with lots of practice) and judge things in our own way. And we have all these characteristics becuase we have the ability to think critically and rantionally. And we can think in that way because our brain is well-developed and allows us to do that. And so our "perfection" compared to other mammals (and other animals) comes directly from the fact that our brain is more advanced then the brain of any other organism. Our ability of thought is actually the key that makes us be the highest level of evolution so far. This is just a logical conlusion:D!

I agree that it feels pain, but its reaction toward pain is just instinctive, not conscious. I've been saying that for ages!!!

God didn't create evil. I don't know many things about religion, but I know the story of "evil". If by evil you mean the demon, then demon first used to be a angel (called Iblis), the most beautiful one from all and the only one who had the freedom to make his actions independently. But when God created man, Iblis felt loath toward man and decided to fight against him as long as this world lasts. I'm repeating again, I don't know many things about religion, but discussions about these subjects always contain quarrels. I think that admins should move this thread to thrash can.
