'Many -Worlds' is the only valid intepretation and proven?
Alexander1304 replied to Alexander1304's topic in Quantum Theory
Thanks a lot, Juangra. I also had a short correspondence with Caclav Brukner from the same Universcity, he toldd me that all data can be intepreted without relying on Many-Worlds assumption -
'Many -Worlds' is the only valid intepretation and proven?
Alexander1304 replied to Alexander1304's topic in Quantum Theory
http://www.cosmic-mindreach.com/Entanglement.html "It has never struck me before that people do not realise that there is MASSIVE observational evidence that the Many Worlds really do exist. In fact ALL the data associated with correlation indicates that the Many Worlds DO exist. It is only really that there is an alternative explanation (Bohm's Quantum Potential) that such belief is not stronger. We can SEE single particles in a Mach Zender interferometer or a Elitzur Vaidman Bomb Tester go BOTH WAYS around the apparatus. We can SEE the Many Worlds in this way (and Many others).” Or the book: http://www.amazon.com/Schr%C3%B6dingers-Rabbits-Worlds-Quantum-Hardcover/dp/B0088505GS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1351102348&sr=8-2&keywords=Schroedinger%27s+Rabbits It mentiones Zhelinger's interferometer -

Hello All, Recenlt I've read mostly about "many -worlds". As I understand, it is still not universally accepted interpretation, but there are some reports that certain experiments simply proved it, like Vaidman- Elitzur bomb test, Zelingher interferometer, vacuum etc, double- slit experiment, that electron seen to be both in 2 places (M.Kaku)... There are also reports that this interpretation was "mathematically" proven... So,I'm confused. Some people claim that these "wordls", if they exist, are by definition beyond human observatiion, other say that that these "worlds" were observed, still others claim that all data indicates these "worlds" can be explained without resorting to "many-worlds". What do You think of this article?: http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/04/05/freaky-physics-proves-parallel-universes/?test=faces I've read personally, that S.Weinberg changed his position, and now regard every interpretation unsatisfactory, and somwhere I've read that S.Hawking also rejected MWI now... So,what is Your opinion on the above claims/article that MWI is proven?...

Interestly,he come to this theory, and it it very resonates Anthony Peake's "Cheating the Ferryman" Paranormal SPY Afterlife And here is from Hammond"s website: "In a previous Blog entry (below) containing a letter from Professor Stuart Hameroff U. Arizona, I detailed how a short millisecond signal in the microtubule system of the brain at Frohlich’s frequency could easily contain a year of human experience, and thus even though the bedside observer would see the person expire in a fraction of a second, the dearly departed would subjectively live on for a year in cyber-paradise despite his Frohlich-speed millisecond demise. This then would be the scientific explanation of St. Paul's prophesy in I Corinthians Ch 15 vs 52 that: "..in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump.. the dead shall be raised". I’ve been thinking some more about the death dream download after talking to Stuart Hameroff by e-mail. Supposedly the death dream would be pre-recorded in a running-edit mode during our entire life, every hour, every second of every day. It would constantly be edited and distilled, sort of the same process that they use to cut and edit a Hollywood movie. This in fact, might even be the primary function of nocturnal dreaming. So this edited life after death scenario, or dream, is residing in the microtubule system of the brain ready to download in a few milliseconds at a moments notice should death occur. The question then arises as to why this dream would automatically download when we die. My answer to that is that it must be completely natural, that is a default mechanism of the death process itself. Supposedly, the death dream is created by a natural mechanism having to do with the Secular Trend growth deficit of the brain (see my paper: Scientific Proof of God on this website), and then when we die, this pent-up font of “flat space” reality, by the same token, just automatically bursts forth and floods the entire cytoskeleton of the brain. And this is what produces “life after death” so-called. The underlying idea here is that the well-known Secular Trend growth deficit causes a neuron shortage and therefore the brain cannot actually perceive “true reality”, that is “flat subjective space”….. it can only perceive a “curved version” (truncation) of subjective space-time… a “curved version” of reality as it were. However, our brain is able to detect that what we are seeing is not completely real, i.e. is curved rather than flat, so what it does, in some analog fashion or other, is compute the “flat space extrapolation” of what we actually see. Of course the microtubule system cannot present this extrapolation to the neuronal system because the neuronal system is not big enough to display it. But it remains “pent-up” or “latent” somewhere in the cytoskeleton, and through some process of subconscious mentation, dreaming etc., it gets composed and edited into what we are now calling “an afterlife dream world”. Okay, that is how and why it gets composed. Now we have to address, how and why it downloads at death. Presumably, death occurs from the top down. That is, the neuronal system shuts down or “flat lines” first. And then begins the slower process of the disintegration of the cytoskeleton-microtubule system. My first intuition would be that the flat lining of the neuronal system is what triggers the afterlife download in the cytoskeleton. Perhaps for instance, the neuronal-cytoskeletal system is originally a “closed loop” feedback system and when the neuronal system flatlines at death the cytoskeleton system goes “open-loop” and this simply causes the cytoskeleton system to “dump” any heretofore undisplayed information into the entire cytoskeleton whereas previously it was negative feedback from the neuronal system that was truncating that information and keeping it in check, i.e. keeping it pent-up in the microtubule memory. That’s one of certainly many possibilities." http://independent.academia.edu/Geor...fe-After-Death Actually,Peake postulated "second self" for this staff, and Hammond uses "microtybe",but idea is the same. Any thoughs? And here is Peake: http://www.newdawnmagazine.com/artic...m-of-existence Cheating the Ferryman: A New Paradigm of Existence? | New Dawn : The "There is available to each person a recording of every possible life they could live. I call this recording the “Bohmian IMAX.” Others may recognise it as the “Akashic Record” or the “Akashic Field” of Professor Ervin Laszlo. I further suggest that at the point of death consciousness splits into two elements. I term these the Eidolon and the Daemon. The Eidolon is the everyday being that calls itself “I” or “me” and it has no knowledge of its previous lives. The Daemon is different. It carries all the memories of the past life (or lives) and as such it acts as a form of “Higher Self” or “Guardian Angel.” In my books I present evidence from modern neurological research to suggest this may be the case." Similar ideas, but it seems that tools are different.Should we believe it just because 2 independantly reached the similar ideas?

Hello all, On one forum I found this link: http://oyhus.no/QM_explaining_many-worlds.html claiming to demonstrate correctness of Many Wordls interpretation of QM. On the one hand - seems like well presented arguments. On the other: it claimes to be discovered in 1990,and it seems to to appear in any peer-reviewed scientific editions.I think: if it REALY is the case - I even didn't come across any apologist of Many Worlds using THIS argument. Any thoughts? Quantum physicists here?

Does Bob Holdom's particle suggest existence of "sublte body"?
Alexander1304 replied to Alexander1304's topic in Speculations
The point here ,that there is some "mediator" between mirror and ordinary particles, that change mirror particles into the ordinary and vice-versa...and thus,if it exists innour bodies, then another(mirror matter) body is created -
Hello all, Recently,I've been at one forum discussinig the mind/body problem and "hard problem of conciousness".Well, there one one person who claimed that existence of "mirror matter" is the most likely resolution for mind/body problem. But he used the quotation about "mirror photons" proposed by Bob Holdom, here: "According to Bob Holdom, of the University of Toronto, says that photons and mirror photons, (along with other particles and their mirror counterparts) can change into each other through the exchange of a "Holdom force" particle, or H particle. Mirror photons, in theory, can interact with regular photons. However, the mirror photon can not interact with any charged particle, it can only interact with its neutral counterpart, the regular photon."Following that, he concluded that Holdom's solutioin presupposes the existence of "subtle body".But is it logical conclusion? Any thoughts?

Hi All, Recently I came across Ron Pearson's theory about physics of survival. He reject Big Bang,General relativity...actually I'll copy and post it from the link: "Pearson’s theory is rather obscure and convoluted to read, as evidenced by the fact that his theory has been rejected by most of the scientific community; throwing out benchmarks of physics, such as constant speed of light, relativity, the cosmological constant, etc., and instead utilizing the invention of numerous types of hypothetical energies, e.g. 'positive and negative primaries', 'breeded energies', etc., said to existed and interacted at the start of the universe, along with other mathematical contrivances. " http://www.eoht.info/page/Ronald+Pearson Now,that how he explain survival: “If true a ‘supermind of space’ could create a whole set of matter-systems all co-existing in the same space but tuned to different quantum-wave frequencies. Then fragments of the supermind structure, the ‘sub-minds’, could only tune into one matter-system at a time. Consequently the only reality apparent at any one time would be the one to which a sub-mind is temporarily tuned. When that matter-system became outworn, this sub-mind, being part of the structured sub-quantum fluid, would simply tune into one of the remaining matter-systems and continue to survive. On this basis our brains could well be mere interfacing mechanisms needed to enable the real minds to pilot the body. No justification can exist any longer in postulating that, of necessity, consciousness vanishes on brain death.” Pearson also, supposedly, shows how dark energy relates to the survival of consciousness. Any comments? Sounds like classical pseudoscience, but I'd like to get Your opinions

Did anybody hear /read about Dr. Stephen M.Phillips?
Alexander1304 replied to Alexander1304's topic in Speculations
Hello all, I'm going to refresh discussion about Stephen M Phillips, who claims to find correlation between superstring theory, kaballah and theosophy. You know my deep dislike about the notion of "shadow matter" and "subtle bodies",especially where 2 goes together. This is what Phillips try to reconcile. The reason I opened the new thread is that I don't want to put your attention to WHOLE article(which was the point of previous article).I'll post just one piece of the article, that bothers me right now,and then will post how I try to deal with it,hoping for your help. So,please, don't read the whole article, read only the part 6 is named "The UPA as a 11-brane". http://www.smphillips.8m.com/article-2.html I must honeslty say that I don't understand much of what he say, because to I'm not so godo in neither superstring theory nor in kaballah/theosophy.But I tried to find some points in what he say, that are clearly speculatuive or not scientific.I will mark in bold the points that bother me and how I try to deal with it So,let me start: "Up till now, theorists have had to define ordinary and shadow matter as singlet representations of the other’s unified gauge symmetry group because they could not explain why the gauge symmetry group E8 appears twice in the symmetry group describing superstring forces free of quantum anomalies. My theory provides a natural explanation of why these two kinds of matter appear in superstring theory: an 11-brane can wrap around either ten or five curled-up dimensions of the higher, 15-dimensional space. The former creates an ordinary matter superstring; this is the UPA with its ten whorls. The latter creates a shadow matter superstring, which is predicted to comprise five whorls." Problem: seems just assertion. Can his claim about "an 11-brane can wrap around either ten or five curled-up dimensions of the higher, 15-dimensional space." be proven? Doesn't it seem as just assertion without evidence? Then he goes into long talk about how "ultimate physical atom" corresponds to the "tree of life " of kaballah, but let focus on this: "If this correlation between whorls of the UPA and tree levels is correct, then equations 3 and 9 indicate that the shadow matter superstring with five whorls created by the alternative wrapping of a 11-brane around the curled-up dimensions of S×C should have two, not three, major whorls. The significance of this may be that the three major whorls of the UPA correspond to the Supernal Triad of Kether, Chokmah and Binah, or what Theosophists call the three ‘Logoi’ (in Christian parlance — but not in Christian interpretation — the ‘Holy Trinity’ or ‘Three Persons of the Godhead’). This means that the second major whorl corresponds to the Second Logos, the so-called ‘Outpouring’ from which is the life-force that Hindus call ‘prana,’ whilst the interpretation in Section 10 of shadow matter as etheric matter means that the superstring predicted to have five whorls is the basic unit of etheric matter, the pranic energy contained within which may be one of the energy-fields of the shadow matter superstring. Lacking a third major whorl corresponding to the Third Logos, whose Outpouring is Fohat, the shadow matter superstring builds up only the subtle vehicle of physical consciousness — the etheric body, not its outer shell, which is assembled from superstrings of ordinary matter by means of the form-building forces that have their source in Fohat." 1.If this correlation between whorls of the UPA and tree levels is correct - big if indeed 2.Lacking a third major whorl corresponding to the Third Logos, whose Outpouring is Fohat, the shadow matter superstring builds up only the subtle vehicle of physical consciousness — the etheric body, not its outer shell How can he know that?Doesn't seem that just assertion without solid foundation? Also,we can claim that all these claims are unfalsifiable. This is how I try to deal with it,trying to find reasons not to take it as something serious and true. I know it sounds strange, but it seems like this guy "forces" me to accept what he is writing but I try to "counter" him... So,any thoughts? Any help will be appreciated Thank you -

Thanks for the reponses, guys. Rigney,he doesn't ask for money ,but he has his website, where he demonstrate his ideas.I'm in correspondense with such scientists as Robert Foot and Maxim Khlopov, both astrophysisits.Well,I should tell them to study "sacred geometries" as direct connection to their sciences But honestly,if this guy is right, his name should be on the top names of the world, but so far it doesn't seem to be the case... -
Hello all, Dr.Phillis is specialist in what is called "Sacred Geometries".He is physicist (Ph.D) and seems to devote whole his life to demonstrate connection between "sacred geometries" of various traditions and modern science, especially superstring theories of physics. His latest book is titled "Mathematical coonection between religion and science". Here is his website: http://www.smphillips.8m.com/ From this article in his website (http://www.smphillips.8m.com/article-2.html) it also follows that he is literal believer in Theosophy. What do you guys think? My point is: if he is right then,well...he should be considered one the most brilliant minids, and moreover, all our science, especially physics should be reconsidered, and be viewed from the point of "sacred geometries".Or,may be he is totally wrong.Who knows?.... What do you think?...

Hello all, I have 'exotic" stuff for evaluation. what is Your opinion about this theory of "dualistic biology" involving the "mirror matter"? Let's leave aside homeopaty stuff here, what is your opinion of biological organizm creating copies of itself into the "mirror matter"? These ideas are described here: http://web.telia.com/~u59500234/ Especially interesting is : http://web.telia.com/~u59500234/ED02.htm and http://web.telia.com/~u59500234/ED04.htm Is it mere speculation/pseudoscience or something worthwhile,to your opinion? Shadow Matter,Psi-Phenomena and Survival
Alexander1304 replied to Alexander1304's topic in Speculations
Here we go,Moontanman,I hope You'll see this message.I got kind response from Robert Foot and will glaldy post it here My 1st question: "Wassermann asserts that because Kolb et al.'s assumptions about the masses and modes of interaction of shadow matter particles are arbitrary" - are the assumption os mass/iteractions REALLY arbitrary,or there are good indications that they need to have a certain mass?" Robert Foot: "this is more a matter of taste. I personally find the model with mirror particles of the same mass much more appealing for symmetry reasons." My 2nd question: "Ok,even "lighter version" still should settle at the center of Earth.Wassermann asserts that "entire Earth has a shadow matter twin that prevents the surface-based shadow matter from sinking further" - is his assertion credible?Or it HIS assertion is arbitrary?" Robert Foot: "His assertian isn't credible. There are limits on the amound of exotic matter in the earth...i think around 0.1 percent.." -

That's the good point,Moontanman.I also had some correspondence with Dr.Robert Thomas Foot,he kindly replied me on my questions, and I'm going to ask him this question as well. Meanwhile ,I asked him ih he has read/heard Wassermann's book - he hasn't I described Wassermann's theory in abstract, and asked what he think about if - he replied "sounds very speculative" I asked if he thinks humans have 2 bodies/brains - he replied "I don't think there is any evidence for this...and certainly is not expected if "mirror matter" exists..." I asked "Even if so - You states that ordinary particles and mirror particles hase the same mass/lifetime?Does that mean that when the ordinary dies - the "mirror" dies too? His reply: "You see, the particles i'm talking about are the elementary ones, the electrons, protons and neutrons (or more precisely quarks). I'm not talking about macroscopic "particles" like you and me.... Particle physics deals with the microscopic....there is no reason that i can see that mirror partticles, if they exist, should assemble into an exact copy of you and me.." And my last question was if he thinks that "mirror matter" may be liked to psychic phenomena - he replied "I think it is very unlikely" Good points about the values of mirror matter,Moontanman,I'll ask Dr.Foot directly, hopefully he will reply But what about Wassermann's assertions that entire Earth has a shadow matter copy that prevents the shadow matterr to sink? -
Shadow Matter,Psi-Phenomena and Survival
Alexander1304 replied to Alexander1304's topic in Speculations
You know,in much of,if not all of, his variant of "shadow matter" he indeed seems to assert whatever he wants "does he show any reasons he has to assert that somehow shadow matter protons neutrons and electrons are lighter in mass than matter?" As stated above, the reason is: "Wassermann asserts that because Kolb et al.'s assumptions about the masses and modes of interaction of shadow matter particles are arbitrary, he is free to make his own assumptions.". Interesting quote about his theory comes from one writer: "judging from the serious technical faux pas in his book, this materialistic biologist appears to have little professional understanding of particle physics, and his explanations of psychic phenomena in terms of shadow matter and its forces make too many ad hoc assumptions and use too few facts to make his theorising good science, even making allowance for the theoretical study of shadow matter being still in its infancy." -
Shadow Matter,Psi-Phenomena and Survival
Alexander1304 replied to Alexander1304's topic in Speculations
This is from review of Wassermann's book, seems like Wassermann had this in his mind: "Shadow matter consists of dark twins of ordinary matter particles whose mode of interaction with particles of ordinary matter is restricted to gravity. For this reason, shadow matter would normally be expected to sink to the center of a planet such as the Earth. This does not happen in Wassermann's theory, because he postulates a much lighter variety of shadow matter than do Kolb et al. (Wassermann asserts that because Kolb et al.'s assumptions about the masses and modes of interaction of shadow matter particles are arbitrary, he is free to make his own assumptions.) The lowered mass of Wassermann's shadow matter may reduce its ability to account for much of the undetected "dark matter" in the universe, which is one of the main appeals of shadow matter in physics. Of course, even this lighter version of shadow matter should still quickly settle at the center of the Earth. Wassermann resolves this difficulty late in the book by asserting that the entire Earth has a shadow matter twin that prevents the surface-based shadow matter from sinking further." http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m2320/is_n3_v57/ai_15383549/ -
Shadow Matter,Psi-Phenomena and Survival
Alexander1304 replied to Alexander1304's topic in Speculations
Thanks for the reply,Edtharan The problem I have discussing Wassermann's ideas, because just few people appear to read/heard about his ideas. I found his theory on the website dedicating to 19th century spiritualist Gerald Massey: "Yet recent research into the ‘string theory’ of particle physics suggests that the survival of the human personality after bodily death is, in fact compatible with mechanistic materialism. A development of the theory proposes a form of matter which can interact gravitationally with the matter of atoms, molecules and elementary particles. This matter, termed ‘shadow matter’, consists of free unbound matter of that type extending throughout the universe. When bonded with ordinary matter, it becomes a duplicate of all objects, animate and inanimate. A shadow matter brain could interact with the living brain by means of gravitational quanta of energy, energising nerve impulses. Interaction could take place also through distance, thus explaining telepathy, clairvoyance and out-of-the-body experiences. According to this theory, there is no reason why the shadow matter brain could not exist after death, and psychic phenomena are likely to provide the best means of proving, by modern scientific praxes, the theory of shadow matter, if it exists." Ironically, this is on of few websites where this theory is mentioned. When I started my own research about this theory,I found only few references, and the only detailed review is done on September 1993 in 'Journal of Parapsychology" by Douglas M.Stokes: http://findarticles....57/ai_15383549/ First person whom I emailed the question about this theory was well-known paranormal researcher/author Alan Gauld. To my luck,he has read this book, and his reply was very brief: "The problem I had with Wassermann's book was that there was nothing it couldn't in some sense explain so that correspondingly it did not really explain anything" I also asked physicist Brian Josephson, who wrote some preface in Mandrake about this book,he replied: "I think I was sent it, but it hasn't really led anywhere as far as I know." Dean Radin told that "theory is interesting but unless there is a way provided to test it it is destined to remain just another curiosity" Radin's is especially interesting, because it seems that nobody today is interesing in promoting this theory or refuting it. Bruno Severi, italian paranormal researcher: "Gerhard D.Wassermann has been indeed a valuable scientist and his theory aiming to explain paranormal phenomena with tha dark matter has risen much interest some decades ago. Now, as you agree, almost nobody remembers the existence of this eminent scientist nor his revolutionary theory. Dark matter certainly exists but it does not seem widely spread among us. If dark matter occupies some space in our world, our lives would have some serious troubles. Concluding, in accordance with the majority of paranormal researchers, I believe that Wassermann has advanced a novel theory for paranormal phenomena which is no longer considered by nobody, mainly because at this moment there is no mean to verify his assumptions. Every theory should simplify the reality, but it does not seem the case for Wassermann's theory." That's what I collected so far.I also asked some physicists about the shadow matter - got some interesting answers -
Hello all, I've recently read(partially) the book written by G.D.Wasserman "Shadow Matter and Psi-phenomena and possible Survival of Human Personality". Here is description from Amazon: "A scientist casts new light on psychic phenomena, such as clairvoyance, telepathy, and 'out of body experiences'. He presents an exciting new theory which explains such phenomena, linking the recently discovered 'Shadow Matter' world of physics with parapsychology. It replaces notions of the occult with important new ideas that are figuring in physics (even in recent television programmes). The book contains case histories, showing how this new theory could account for telepathy, clairvoyance, 'out of the body experiences', and apparitions of the living and the dead in terms of Shadow Matter. It also explains how Shadow Matter theory could account for the survival of the human personality after death of the body. The author builds on theories until now discussed only in academic journals. This theory was first published in brief outline in the journal Inquiry in 1988. It develops the concept of the Shadow Matter world introduced in the journal Nature in 1985. Suitable for general readers interested in new developments in science; general readers interested in parapsychology and the occult; specialists and scholars, especially in physics, chemistry, biology, psychology, philosophy and medicine." My consfusion here is,that all parapsychological/survival material usually comes from spiritualists/religionists,but here it comes from the materialist. Anyway,as far as I know the existence of the 1."shadow matter" is not yet confirmed 2.No "shadow matter" theory(maybe, except Wassermann's) postulates that "shadow matter" obeys the same laws as the ordinary matter. What do you guys think about it?So far it doesn't seem that this theory got much acceptance in the scientific circles and even in parapsychology I found only a couple of references The most detailed(and only) review I found made by Douglas Stokes: Shadow Matter and Psychic Phenomena. - Free Online Library From the review: ""Wassermann contends that every person has a shadow matter brain and body that are exact duplicates of his ordinary brain and body and that are normally in such exact alignment with the ordinary matter body that each particle of the shadow matter body is in sufficiently close proximity to the corresponding particle of the ordinary matter body that it is gravitationally gravitationally bound to it. The shadow matter brain or body is capable of separation from the ordinary body and of serving in the role of an "astral body" during an out-of-body experience. At death, the shadow matter body (SMB) could become permanently projected; thus, the SMB would serve as a "material soul" allowing an indefinite survival of the human personality after the death of the physical body (Wassermann proposes that shadow matter is exempt from the second law of thermodynamics, the law of entropy increase, and thus would not be subject to decay and deterioration). " What do you guys think? This theory is unique in its attempt to reconcile survival with materialism but so far it doesn't seem that this theory got much acceptance neither in the scientific circles nor in parapsychology.Any thoughts will be appreciated
