  1. Dont forget the microwave and the instant meals
  2. It's not really a choice now is it? Or did you think at one point in your life:"Hmm, will I choose girls or boys to have sex with? Let me flip a coin on that" Of course you didn't, it's just the way you feel... So the whole 'consequence' thing is a lot of bollocks. If you live in a free country there shouldn't be any discrimination in any area IMHO Anyway, back OT: I'm not a US citizen so it won't surprise you when I say I would vote John Kerry. The reason: just so Bush won't be president. I would've voted Gore too 4 years ago for the same reason... I don't hate America, but I do find Bush a total idiot and I seriously can't understand why so many americans still support him, especially after all the mistakes he made, with or without lying. His total lack of respect towards the world and the UN is something you would only expect from a backward dictatorship. To this day I haven't met a non US citizen who would vote George W and I doubt I ever will
  3. I would love to go in space, even if it were only for 4 minutes! Sure it's expensive and also a bit wastefull, but if the people providing this technology could use the money from space tourism to research safer, more efficient craft isn't that a plus then? And when they get to the moon we would have an abundant fuel source of helium-3 too, which will prolly fuel future spacecraft as well as the global economy. And just imagine walking on the moon... @ Sorcerer I'm visiting your country atm and I can fully understand why you don't want to leave this beautifull place Mind you though, the plastic bag comsumption in the supermarkets is off the scale, pretty wastefull imo...
  4. Yeah I know, I was just being abit of an @ss relating it to humans. I'm pretty sure it's who.int, try the main site http://www.who.int or http://www.who.int/en/ The links works for me
  5. That is all too true I read it somewhere some time ago... can't remember where, but I looked it up on the WHO page: http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs103/en/
  6. A Human or non-human primate is not it's natural host, it'll probably won't work like this in it's natural reservoir (wherever that may be). When looking at humans; in some third world countries humans reproduce even when there's not enough food available for themselves let alone their offspring. That's not really considering ones self preservation or value of life, is it? Very complicated indeed, as you can take the "potential" concept as far as you want. (Some) Christians are for instance for the abolition of anti-conception since a potential human life will be wasted. And you could even go further by accusing a woman for not having sex after her ovulation, since the egg could've been a potential human too. As for the question, a human life begins at conception, but I truly don't believe you can differentiate between human life and other forms of life on a "life" basis. You could however, differentiate on a "self consciousness" basis. But that would mean a human life would begin roughly between the first and second year. On a logical basis I think YT's awnser is the best atm: when brain stem activity commences.
  7. Well in theory a catalyst should lower your initial energy use, but I think the chance of finding a catalyst for hydrolysis will be extremely small.
  8. It's the Aquatic Ape Theory, this is the best link I could find for the moment, briefly describing what it means: http://www.primitivism.com/aquatic-ape.htm Elaine Morgan has written some books on this topic, namely: - The Aquatic Ape Hypothesis - Scars of Evolution I really recommend these books for anyone interested in human evolution, it's understandable and easy to read... http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0285635182/ref=pd_sxp_elt_l1/026-9957450-0407660
