  1. Never really understood mods. I mean, sure, they're cool looking, but why? I have a tower with like 8 ports in the front, 4 USB, a USB hub like like 8 more, and Ive got 1024 ram with 3 more open slots, so Ive got plently of room to expand. I wouldnt mind having the ugliest box ever, but as long as it runs like I want, I would love it. "It's what's on the inside that counts"
  2. true. Its a very good idea to get expert view, other than those you'll find on websites Like Typhi said, check out a local lab, and see what kind of stuff scientists know or even speculate about evasive/resistant bugs.

  4. yes, Ive seen electron micrograms before, a few weeks ago, we had a few done for this bacteria that we've found- incredible quality. but what exactly are you studying that needs to be looked at this closely? Are you a student, or a researcher?

  6. oook. First of all...what exactly are you studying to where you need an electron scanning mic? If you have an excellent microscope, you should be able to see just about everything at an amazing quality (see some of my other posts to check that out) Its not exactly something for the average hobbier, so depending upon your credentials and training, I might expect the university to take into consideration your age and experience before letting anyone use their equipment. (dont mean to bring anyone down)

  8. inclined planes and ballistics and optics oh my...what field r u in!? In our engineering dept, we use a lot of CAD stuffs. Check the link below for some good resources- http://www.cad.com.au/cad/soft.html

  14. my mouse has all the back/fwd/and rfsh buttons, so I dont even take the time to look at the buttons on the toolbar. (just too damn lazy to move the mouse all the way over to that part of the screen to click on the damned "back" button)

  16. what kinda engineering? it depends on if you need a lot of graphical software or not. PC is generally more versitile, but some ppl like Macs b/c of their "user friendly" graphics software

  18. "Paleomagnetic studies, which examine the Earth's past magnetic field, showed that the magnetic north pole seemingly wandered all over the globe. This meant that either the plates were moving, or else the north pole was. Since the north pole is essentially fixed, except during periods of magnetic reversals, this piece of evidence strongly supports the idea of plate tectonics."
