  1. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU WANT TO BUY MUSIC!?!?!?! urhurm...excuse me . Look into something like Napster, or ITunes. I have a Cruzer Micro MP3 Companion. Basically, it reads flash drives. In my opinion, it is the absolute best mp3 tool ever. you can store anything on the tiny flash drives, then when you turn on the tiny player, it sorts out the audio files, and plays them through your headphones/speakers. You can switch out the flashdrives, so you can hold crap loads of music, and assemble all kinds of playlists. The only problem is battery life. I cant find any rechargable AAA batteries, but if I could, I would give it a 5 stars in stead of the 4.5. But I love it. A lot of my friends have Ipods, and I like them, but Im not envious. They certainly do have some nice features, and I especially like the huge hard drives, so I would suggest it as well.
  2. I partially agree. If you are lucky enough to get intelligent parents, in a good environment, with good schools, then you have an excellent chance of having a nice looking IQ. But will, determination, and pure work is a major factor. You can spend 5 days a week debating, but speed drills will make you the best there is. you can spend all day in school, but if you dont apply your knowledge outside, and exorcise and hone those abilities, they will not grow. You will simply be a student, not a learner- or a student, and not a microbiologist I spend a lot of time doing rapid eye movement exorcises, and reading a lot of books. (I also eat a lot of crappy food) and my IQ is 189. Someone with the same classes, and even a higher GPA (something like 5.0), could have an IQ of 120. As was discussed earlier, IQ doesnt determine intelligence, it determines how fast you can solve a problem in your head- mental reaction. But, as useless as it is, Im quite content with mine
  3. I know, same. But you cant rely on an IQ test for anything. It wont get you a job, or a good scientific reputation- I basically think it's for you and you alone
  4. lol. I understand a big bonfire, and a good celebration, but I dont really understand a night where crime and drunken accidents run ramped; not that Im making any assumptions about anyone here @ SFN. I trust that we're all intelligent enough not to be dangerously criminal.
  5. well, i thought about it, and I realized that antibiotics are very VERY expensive for the patients, as well as me, but a phage would only need to be administered once- saving money and time.
  6. "The" sun? which one in the universe? according to this theory- will the entire universe loose energy - wind down?
  7. I am now taking part in a class debate on stem cell research. The current resolution is "The USF(ederal)G(ovt) should increase its funding support of stem cell research. the stem cell debate has gone on for years, but what of the recent CA decision- with the $3 billion over 10 yrs? We offer therapeutic cloning as a method of gathering cells, but what of the moral imperative? When does something become "Living", when does it begin to breathe, when does it begin to think, when can it do something on its own, when does its heart begin to beat, when can it survive in vitro, on its own?? There are plently of things we can argue, but what would work against the moral situations? Please, discuss the topic, whether you're for, or against it; any opinions and resources are greatly appreciated
  8. well, I like to be an early morning person- I like to get the most out of my day, but I can never get out of bed, and get up in the morning. I love the "snooze" button!
  9. basically yea. Ive found some nice articles about how it is ethical. But what of its benefits?
  10. well, most people continue to believe that a virus is to blame. However, that's not true. Blaming a virusis basically just a default for not knowing what causes it. It's actually a bacteria. I know that it sounds farfetched, but please, trust me, it's a bacteria, not a virus. That is what would be attacked by such a virus.
  11. Fox seems to be saying now that he's in "grave" condition, but still hasnt kicked the bucket.
  12. does anyone not know what a phage is? Its basically a virus parasitic in bacteria; it uses the bacteria's machinery and energy to produce more phage until the bacteria is destroyed and phage is released to invade surrounding bacteria. It feeds and destroys the bacteria, selectively.
  13. Im now doing a debate in class about the USFG support of Stem cell research. I am now, fortunately, on the Aff. I KNOW for a fact that they will be running a moral imperitive for stem cell research. What im looking for are some awesome links for my arguements. Thanks!
  14. (off topic- lol, just changed my sig. I'll take Clinton on in 08')
  15. thats with CA, so it could be, but I wouldnt jump to conclusions at this point. Bush still leads by a bit, so there actually could be a recount. Crossing my fingers to make this go as smoothly as possible
  16. lol, Im too tired tonight. But since we're the national champs, you can expect one within the week ...ugh...that means Im gonna have to type out that crap...never mind...I'll summarize...stereoty-...thud...zZzZzZzZz GWB- 206 JFK- 133
  17. lol. will do, but the thing is, I cant find anything at all! Im actually supprised on how elusive the critters seem to be.
  18. Is anyone out there as supprised as I am on how much Bush is winning at this point? Do you really think with these results that there will be a recount? Wow, Im looking at CNN, FOX, and NPR, and they all show the same results. That's a pretty wide spectrum, from Fox to NPR, and still Bush continues to lead. What does everyone think about this? (Oh, and if I hear- "Americans are just plain stupid", you might find yourself staring down the face of a 10-15 page kritic on stereotypes )
  19. Centrist? 40% personal 50% economic? I dont really think that test is sufficient to concieve what party you support- 10 questions? It should be more like 50-100. But then again, that would take a while
  20. lol, well, its right down to it...its either gonna be me, or nader. The game is set...let's see who the people decide
  21. Well ladies and gentlemen, it's coming right down to the wire (depending on which news station you're watching ) Who's winning @ this point? Who do you think will win what? and what do you think will happen if Bush doesnt win Florida or Ohio?
  22. lol, my cousin has an English Bull Mastif. The coolest dog I know! 6ft 2 in. tall, and a beast. But the nicest thing you could ever have as a pet.
  23. My dad's connections just enlightened me. what about a phage??! would that work against a cell wall deficient organism?! would it be feasable to develop a phage targeting the most common atribute of the organism? (I would of course have to do some serious testing after a full cutlure to find a unique chemical feature) but could it work?
  24. agreed, it seems a little odd. But if the mother has the resources to care for the child properly, without a husband, then I dont see any (non-moral) problem. Morally, I would say that it's very odd. I would think that a child should have know who its father is! Then again, I can see why some want it, so I dont mind it that much.
  25. thanks guys! It does seem to be interesting tho. b/c they know that it works sympomatically, but no one seems to know what else it does. Now that I know the cause of MS, i can more accurately see its functions, and metabolic habits. Im taking the next 9 months or so to grow some full cultures. yea, i didnt count on any govt grants. Fortunately, my dad's got some connections, and this weekend, we'll be getting some electron micrograms on the cause, and should get a better anaysis. book research is a cruel mistress isnt it. So much more fun to be working in the lab.
