College Applications- What gets the Goods?
MolecularMan14 replied to MolecularMan14's topic in Science Education
lol, I'll have to look into our quiz bowl. We've got a lot of other smart folk at the school, but we're all so loaded down with honors and AP homework, we can hardley do anything outside of scholastics. -
Thanks man. I sometimes take a b-12 in the morning, but I havnt lately mainly b/c they taste like parrot turds. I didnt know it came as a liquid. Whats wrong with too many anti-oxidents? I dont take too many now, but is there a problem with eliminating too many free-radicals? Just curious lol, what I do is make one hand rotate one way (towards me), and the other the opposite way (away from me), together. It took me all of a day; almost as long as it took me to learn how to juggle, and figure out the rubicks cube

Debate Topic- Medical Marijuana Legalized
MolecularMan14 replied to MolecularMan14's topic in Homework Help
Anyone have any sources?? I found one on the history of it http://www.medmjscience.org/Pages/history/zeese.bhtml Check it out, and please, any help is appreciated! -
lol, that might be the absolute best analogy Ive heard for the conserv vs lib conflict I just kinda wish that there was one party that was almost the median, not extreme but certainly not weak. Something that I could get behind (business, medical research, tax cuts, semi-powerful govt...the best of everything)

Bacteria antibiotic resistance
MolecularMan14 replied to ledzeppelin3's topic in Microbiology and Immunology
You might look into cell wall deficient organisms. Lida Mattman is coming out with a 4th edition (or so she tells me). It's interesting on how the lack of a cell wall can make a cell invisible to an antibiotic. It's a very intriguing topic -
What about acetyl choline?? What exactly does it do? Is it healthy? Would you recommend it? I really wouldnt suggest caffine, because its a strong stimulant. Im looking for something, or a strategy for keeping or enhancing concentration, especially for later in the day (with debate practice and all)

MolecularMan14 replied to blike's topic in Suggestions, Comments and Support
I just switched to FireFox, and Ive noticed that to the left of the address of the site (in the address box), there's a little icon. (http://www.ebaumsworld.com has the dancing banana icon). Why not have one here? Like an atom or something sciency? -

Is it possible to have a SFN RSS feed?
MolecularMan14 replied to bloodhound's topic in Suggestions, Comments and Support
Ok, apparently, Ive subscribed. Where does something come up? What should I create in (right now, its apparently in Bookmarks)? -
hells yes. An arcade would be sweet! A shop would be awesome, but yea, shipping would be an issue. When blike signs on again, we should ask him about it. Or maybe sayo, or one of the other "good ol' boys" could explain how it worked. We should have sweaters with one of the ideas from the "Science Shirts" thread

Closer by the day. Anyone have an estimate? Im guessing less than 3 weeks now. Anyone else? BRING BACK THE SFN STORE! (Ive heard that there was such a thing...I want a T-Shirt )

what's an RSS feed? -
lol, Ive got some connections. No one has to know that Im 14 :sneaky: With all the support Im getting, I could win 2008 easy
-
Keep in mind also that they wont be showing it during school - afterwards at about 7:00pm. The school would just be acting as a theatre. But still, even though it's very bias, I would like to see it.

Well, Ive decided that Im running for President of the US. Whos with me?

Think of something that will grab attention. Something cutting edge and current. If you do a topic on the history of genetics starting from the 1950s and such, people will get bored b/c they could really read all that in a book. Teach them something they couldnt find by themselves (at least without some good hard research first )

British Broadcasting Company. A broadcasting network in the UK. You can get it anywhere in the world with satellite/cable. I watch Montey Python all the time

Recently, there were dozens of fliers posted all around the school about a free showing of Michael Moore's film [9/11] in one of the small auditorium. Although I’ve heard a lot about it, good and bad, I still wanted to see it. (Plus I can hardly ever turn up something free ) In any case, I’ve gotten word that the school has stopped the showing. I don’t exactly know why. What exactly could that movie accomplish? Is it really bias enough to where its worth banning to young voters? Like I said before in other posts, I continue to be indifferent onto conservatism and liberalism – I’m, at this point- neither; this wouldn’t stop me from going to see it though.
-
nope never heard of it. What's it about? What channel?
-
lol, you'd be suprised by the debate that students get over the elections. No formal debates, its just "well your candidate is stupid", and "yours is a flip flop!!"..."YO MAMA!!!"
-
I dont really know on this one. I kind of resent my ID card for school, but it is a REALLY good way of organizing people. Perhaps it should be more of a personal or industrial thing- where a business would require one, and the govt would keep track of those who had them. Its good for everyone who's "ligit" but for those who arent, well, its a way of keeping an eye on you.

Today through the 28th were having a school wide election. I have a feeling that even here in that Kerry will take the school. The rival school will probably go Bush however. I dunno really. I was the second person to vote - good thing for secret ballots

it depends. does the universe have a size? If so, then it could have limits. If not, then i dont think there could be any limit.
