I have never heard anyone claim that... Putting your penis in her vagina if she specifically says no though is rape. The world is so backward that in a progressive country such as the UK it was only made illegal about 20 years ago even. The world has a long way to go as we evolve as a species and get away from thinking that a spouse is property. There are many countries where this is still the case.... they are behind with the times and need to change their views. You state this as a fact... I don't think it is - it is just fear mongering to keep the poor poor. Maybe they should just not sleep and work through the night too to pay their way in the world - they obviously need to work harder - it is what they deserve I suppose.

Thanks for your help. +1 for.. oh, hold on I can't. ;-) Well - what can I say - sorry for spamming out too many rep points. lol. I must admit - I preferred the 3 /day limit to negs and unlimited positives. I like spreading the love. :o) - I shall be more discerning with them in future.
-
Same - and when I logged back on the point wasn't held in a queue it was as if I hadn't given it all. I clicked again and will wait to see what happens. Maybe it will register later. Very strange - I'll wait to see what a Mod says. Thanks for the help. I can't think that I have been banned from giving rep, lol. I am a bit free and easy with it to people I like, people that are helpful to others, cleaver or just make me laugh. The problem here I suppose is that there might be those far more deserving of it than those I usually dish it out for, but if there posts are over my head then how can I judge that? I would give Mordred more rep, but he talks about things that are definitely not in my field and I don't understand half of what he goes on about. I have given him rep for helping before but was unsure of the content due to the maths being over my head. lol. I try to be fair and often give rep to people who have shot me down or have argued and disagreed with me - I give it for content not for friendship - I feel that would be unfair. It still isn't working anyway - I'll await the Mods.
-
OK - testing... gave you a +1... not registered yet.... will turn it off and then back on again to see if this now works. I have only noticed this happening over the last couple of days.
-
Has there been another recent change? It seems that when I give someone rep (up or down) - it doesn't register it straight away... does it go into a queue to be approved by the mods or something?
-
For filing maybe I'll concede that... but when talking about the date today I still hold that it is more logical to state the day first.. Today is Tuesday the 22nd of November - I have no need to add the year for that. If some one askes 'what day is it' I say ' it's the 22nd of November' not '2017, November, the 22nd day'.
-
Different cultures, different practice... although it makes more logical sense to me to have Day/Month/Year. Seems odd to put month before the day then jump to the year... it seems all mixed up... I think you done it deliberately to annoy us after achieving independence. lol.

I thought the standard decimal mark was the full stop / period. Looks like it doesn't have an international standard (dot, line, comma or comma on line). Clearly it needs to be standardised. I would argue for the dot as a decimal and a comma for the thousand break, but I guess I am biased because that is what I have always used. I think it the most common, so we should adopt it. The US will just do whatever it wants anyway regardless of the rest of the world having a meeting and deciding on one standard way. We employed a French lad once for a year or so and it confused me once when he wrote 1000 as 1.000 and 5.783 as 5,783.... only once though. I was adamant that he used the correct notation... he argued that it was correct in France... Fine, but we are in the UK so use our notation or **** off back to France.

Ah! I see the problem now - you are only about 5 years of age!... well, you are very intelligent for a junior! Well done for thinking about such things. Ask your teacher to explain it to you and they can show you with a diagram how the suns incident rays on the earth are parallel. If you still don't understand it then re address the topic in a few years when you've grown up a bit, learnt a little science, and you might grasp it then.

So is a MASER stimulated emission, same as LASER but for Microwaves instead of light waves - it's in the name/acronym. Light (or Microwave) Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation (LASER/MASER). As for being harmless to humans I would think it would depend on the intensity/power of the LASER. They don't put warnings on lasers for fun.

Doh - I tried to link to the pic where they sliced the magnet to make two triangles as described... but it has just linked the whole page again - The pic is in there though. Sorted it out - I guess this is the one the OP was talking about. (or close enough).

Hi/welcome aristosteles. I am not sure if the OP is active anymore - he hasn't posted since early 2016. This thread is about 6 years old too.

iirc it will excite any of the molecules it comes into contact with that vibrate with a wavelength of 21cm. Basically any bond that vibrates in that bandgap will heat up - it is otherwise non selective. Water molecules will adsorb in the microwave frequency which is why we use them for cooking. There is a lot of water in the human body, so MASERs in the vicinity of human flesh doesn't sound like a good idea as muted above.

Being poisoned/ drugged, where to take sample for testing?

What did the police say? -
Yea - I wouldn't do that anymore... Maybe the machinery wasn't so fine as you thought - it needs sustenance and maintenance and downtime for a reason. ;-)

I was referring to the creationist argument as described in Genesis... this has been shown to be factually untrue, as has a lot of the same book.

.... there is a fine line.

What do you mean by a black fast? I had to look it up and it sounds catholic. The longest I ever fasted for was 3 days with no food except water. I once did 7 days with only fruit. The longest without sleep was 3 days. I never enjoyed the food fasts, they were horrible. The 3 days without sleep was kinda fun though... although I can relate to the feeling of insanity, lol. I was on a good positive buzz though. Totally human. Can I ask your reasons for fasting? My fasts were years ago and were religious. I won't be doing anything like that again willingly.

Sounds nice, but I really don't think we will live again. Even if similar we wouldn't be the same conscious entities. You get one life. imo you should try to live it to the full. Not be jealous of what you don't or can't have, try to be nice and helpful and 'good'. Try to be content and be yourself - you can't be anybody else. Forgive yourself and others often. Count your blessings and realise you are incredibly lucky to be alive at all as the odds are so far against it. Love, love. love.... Good luck with it sir. I hope you enjoy what you have, whatever it may be.
-
Sorry to hear you've had troubles. Good to see you. This has been going on for centuries though, thousands of years and more probably. You have to hope and think that it is improving, it has never been perfect and maybe never will, but you can but hope.
-
Maybe not, although it probably should be common sense to put the match out before discarding it in the ashtray.

... or frightened, or depressed, or unconscious, or hurt, or dead. ;-) I think anger needs to be controlled in a fight... it can help with aggression, but as pointed out - mistakes can be made through not thinking clearly. Fights can go any way... to the calm or the angry... to the skilful or the lucky.
-
You didn't ask if it was right or not... you asked if it was possible.

I guess it depends on the method of transmission of your message... by postal written message it could take a while. ;-) By radio waves they would travel at the speed of light. Light takes 8 mins to get to earth from the sun... Ceres is in the asteroid belt... so, a few mins I suppose.

I grabbed a 4 pack of Buds once from a super market because they were on offer. Took them to a pals house and get the crap ripped out of me for not reading the labels - they were alcohol free beers. lol. Why indeed! Seriously though - not everyone is an alcoholic. ;-) I don't drink much at all anymore... not teetotal though.
