What Do You Think, Are Photons Matter Or Energy??
TheProphet replied to Pomlom's topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
As i see it it's all energy just manifesting itself in different ways.. And Mass is one normal way. Waves are another. Might even be more but i guees we don't know that yet... -

Wow =) How nice.. Go Japan! Next of again si Russia isn't it? Or will the Americans be next?
-
Are u guys still talking about the same experiment?

What Do You Think, Are Photons Matter Or Energy??
TheProphet replied to Pomlom's topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
Pomlom.. Altough far fetched but if u got light to only produce Antiparticles it migt be possible. bullets would desintegrate when hitting the shield of positrons maybe. But it dosen't seem enough since the hadrons (atom core) will keep goin and still kill you.. *yeah i know im far off.. but it's fun sometimes* -
Hmmm, since im swedish i might not be the best at descibing things in english. Therefore i try as best as i can and i always ask to see if the point is gotten or not. Since it might just be my poor english that is at hand. I'll try to describe it to you altough a scheme (ani picture) of this is located in the News section! http://www.scienceforums.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4505 se this one first. Darn se that you have already been in that thread too. First u have the 2 entagled particels. Seperate them and one of them gets under a joint measurment with a state pepared new atom. these two then have the same states which in turn gives the 3rd atom(the other entagnled one) to shift as well hence they are still entangled. So in this way we have teleported a state without sending any informaion. So this is what quantumteleportation is.. But in order for it to work u need quantumly entangled particles =)

Go to run and type: explorer and u get the good ol file tool upp running.. I hate Win XP.. I thought they would imporve from 98 and 2000 but not... Ran some OS X on a friend mac (latest version) and it's just enormeous.. to bad mac:s are so darn expensive... =(

Sayonara: Im with u on that one! Liked the experiment when Hau (ior was it another scientist hmm) Managed to trap light into a form of memory =) And also reading out single photons spin(i belive, some vital info atleast) through rubudium atomsm without destroing the orginial info of the Photons. 5614: I understand Quantum Entagnlement so far (i belive i helped u with it in that thread just don't remember what whas said about it's scarce condition. Whas it tha one u measured it again the effect disapeared.. too me this would be interperted as once is possible put twice is not... altough i might be wrong on that point. must check which thread it was... Of course lightspeed downloads are possible(within given time). but i was under the wrong impression that u forgot our snail computers for the moment, but i se you didn't! But too med 10 mbit broadband i wuite good and we even have 100mbit here now (not to me since i live in the country) bu i know of many that can have it for €90. And that is FAST. Even for whole dvd:s. But the systembuss and hard drives have hard time to cope with this speeds..

Try to start an explorer window.. by this way u might be able to reach Outlocks files!

If it ever would have existed. Then i'd give my bet on the land beneth the North Pole.. There are old maps(BC time) describing the land beneth it. Which are very precise! Einstein and some other guy i can't remember the name of laid down a theory too hiw this was possible! They said that the earth axis has changed (which i does witihn a circle, which in turns take 54 000 y to make a whole round). So that once the Land beneth Nortpole where in roughly the same climate as Sweden, norway and Finland. well well i still belive there is a big chance Plato where jsut thinking of Utopia too!

Hope u read Martins thread... But look at your post again... U still wrote it as the two ARE the SAME. And that it's an absolut fact, and here u still keep poundering it! Quite some difference between the two as Martin showed.
-
Thanks Martin. Articles, books and all i have reade haven't put any good math in it just said that it's 0,73... Im not shure i get u right away.. (Math skill sucks over here) But some atleast wnt in my brain! Thanks for pointing out the difference in such explicit terms =D

5614: I was under the impretion that quantum entagnlement only seemed to work once.. Gotta check that thread again too se whom said it, (not that it wasen't able to use more times but he indicated a problem that could result in that) And still quantum computers are far away and yet we don't know how it will look in reality! And to download in lightspeed seems lightyears away...

Nope.. Dark energy whas prupopsed in order too explain the previuos unknown criterias of the universe! That it was much older and epxanding faster that we thought. This occured during distant Supernovae observations. The cosmological constant was Einsteins way of maintaining a finite and "resting"(bad word) universe. So too draw that line = is to not have done your homework.
-
5614: The experiment u reefer to (as i belive was the reason for another thread on the forum). Use Quantum Entagnled atoms to Teleport a Quantum state beetwen to atoms, hence the name Quantum Teleportation. u follow 5614?

Interisting.. the first one is too me rather simple since Cap just said it The other one is far mor complex... but another, very serious study, since the 70s. Indicate that bigger events(like 9/11) with much of human emotinal activity casues small random number generators too start desoriantate more than normal.. and it's just during strong emotional periods for us. And to further explain is that these chips where placed randomly all over the world in the 70s, quite a few too it seems. Anyways the professor behind this initiativ purposed a theory about a hidden "backdoor" in humans and animals that gives us ability too send information in telepathic ways.. altough very limited... Too bad i can't reffer too any article on the web since this was in a swedish science magazine!

The 40W bolb.. is it a 110-130V or 220-240 V bulb?? Probably somone of these. Hence if it was a 12V ud have some light atleast... and the same at 24V! Let's start with saying this.. as im swedish and we use 230V the bulb's resistance is calculated on 230V so it will be consuming around ~0,17A..(inner resistance ~1k35) So in order for u to get this particulary bulb litt u will need atleast a 1/4 of these 230V to get it running at 10W! To do this u need 57,5V which in turn means that u need 38 of those 1,5V batteries or just 6 of 9V, in series of course! I guees u get me now!

That explaines alot of mysteries ! Thanks man!! -
Read the article.. And i'll try to get hold of that number of New Scientist aswell! And i'll keep an watchfull eye after the one Photon experiment! HEnce this is truely interesting!
-
Hmmm, Prabably my fault since im most shurely isn't as good in english as you Sayonara. I must have misinterpeted you! Or well i did i see.. I'm totally with you on the Inevitable part there! And it's likewise inevitable that we'll be runing into some sort of problems with this AI in the future..
-
But Sayonara what 5614 says isn't that far fetched either! Of course there are learning software today.. but it has strict and very shallow barriers! What a real AI would be doing is still far far away.. both technicaly and programing part of it!
