  1. Alcubierre drive is inherantly unstable and the inertial bubble would be irradiated.
  2. No, it's not. He'd fail at whatever he tried to change. Any time travel to the past would be a causal factor into the present. It's not like things happen more than once. These "paradoxes" aren't paradoxes at all; they're errors in thinking caused by following the traveler instead of the timeline.
  3. maybe it's because I'm awesome...who knows?

  4. Kirk Cameron is giving out copies with a 50 page introduction about how Darwin was a racist, so evolution is wrong.
  5. That depends on which faith healer you see.
  6. The red squiggly line means you made a spelling error.
  7. I actually thought of that right after I clicked submit reply. It seems as though(via my attempts at asking the Oracle) that the relation of gravity and thermodynamics is not very well settled.
  8. Can you show all your units?
  9. so, THAT's what that was.......unfamiliar notation.
  10. Emphasis mine.
  11. I guess I was confused with the whole Hawking radiation thing. Two virtual particles outside of a black hole. One falls in, losing energy which gives the other enough to become real....or something like that. I still think gravity might have a similar effect to removing heat from a system(iirc, laws of thermodynamics were formulated for heat engines, not the universe in general, anyway). I mean, thinking of entropy as "disorder", doesn't gravity lessen it? Take, for example, a nebula. Doesn't the gravity pull the wandering unorganized molecules together into a more organized form?
  12. Does gravity negate the 2nd Law? I remember that when we did our heat engine problems that the entropy of the system only went down when we took energy out. Gravity is negative energy, right? Wouldn't that effect large scale entropy and thus the 2nd Law's application to the universe as a whole?
  13. Haven't we been through this already?
  14. [09:36] <Sylar> did you break SFN again? [09:37] <Capn_Refsmmat> no, the datacenter broke again [09:42] <mib_o417zg> of course [09:46] <Fuzzwood> stop tripping ppl there then [09:50] <Capn_Refsmmat> sorry, I dropped a whole box of banana peels in there last time I visited
  15. Define "more complex", because as I see it, the monkeys are more complex! They have all the parts we do AND:thicker fur, a usable tail(how awesome is that?), and an extra chromosome! Sounds more complex to me.
  16. No profit via adverts?
  17. We have tags. html is disabled.
  18. Nothing. The world ended 3 days ago. If you're reading this, you were left behind.
  19. If 'historicity' means 'historical errors', then you may be correct. Except the fact that none of the good is new and all of the good can be found without the bad elsewhere. It's off topic for this thread(and the forums in general), but if you'd like to discuss this further, I do have a PM inbox.
  20. I don't know about medical problems, but apparently the medication isn't supposed to last that long. The 4-hour warning is from the television adverts; I don't know if the warning is on the bottle or not.
  21. It wasn't used much.
  22. Not at all. And it's hard to see how one would reach that conclusion based upon the quote provided. Your "argument" is far from flawless. Evolution indeed lacks a goal(or specified direction). Nothing is evolving toward anything. I find it hard to believe that you're actually interested in learning about evolution when you completely ignore provided resources and you dismiss our answers out of hand. And how, exactly, is it weak? Pot, meet Kettle. What is it that you do?
  23. The religious right, perhaps(aka, the nutjobs).
