I have two relatives that sent me this e-mail. I sent them a reply merely pointing out the Snopes entry and the irony that they cited Snopes. They both replied to me to the effect that they don't care and have freedom of speech. In America doesn't libel NOT fall under freedom of speech?

No, the "malicious intent" was referring to the assumption of mockery as the motive. And where's the evidence that the Darwin Fish creator borrowed the symbol in order to "twit the former users"? Therein lies the point. As I had previously stated, I assume nothing of the motives whereas most of you assume malicious intent on one party and innocence on the other. Which, from what I can tell, is what you did with respect to the OP.

Are you asking about why fusion itself takes so much energy(steepness of binding energy per nucleon curve before about 60 nucleons), or are you asking about why self-sustaining fusion reactors aren't yet technologically feasable? Plenty of reactors have successfully achieved fusion without fission. The problem is that it takes more energy than it puts out.

How do you know they didn't have the same motives? I don't know what the motives are. That is honest. What isn't honest, however, is assuming malicious intent for one borrowing of the symbol but not of another.

So, what about the fact that the icthus itself is NOT original to Christianity, but yet another of the MANY things Christianity "borrowed" from other religions? They can borrow, but the Darwin fish people can't?

Your LaTeX is somewhat confusing for those who don't know the formula. You should have split it up and defined a, b, and c. For a quadratic equation(like what the equation in the OP will reduce to), you can get the roots by [math]X_{1/2}=\frac{-b + \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}[/math] and [math]X_{1/2}=\frac{-b - \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a}[/math] where the equation is ax2+bx+c=0. Remember that BOTH are roots and they may or may not be imaginary.
