i think i am starting to get it. so, if i need a scalar, i use dot, and if i need a perpendicular vector, i use cross?

i am on a commitee to convert our school to biodiesel(more specifically, a council of teachers and students trying to convince the school board). our first meeting is wednesday and i know almost nothing about biodiesel. so far, i know: made from soybean oil cheaper than traditional diesel renewable, so it will stay cheaper no need to do anything to your automobile that runs on diesel we are going to make some as well. it won't be pure enough to use in a truck, though. since the prices of fossil fuels rise, won't that cause the price of goods that are shipped by truck to rise? if so, biodiesel could help fix that, i think. anyone know anything about biodiesel?

i've yet to hear of this real ID science. can you post some links?

what is a dot product between a vector and itself? edit: you answered while i was posting. i missed the unit vector part. t=x.n

can you show how you did that? dot product=0, but where is teh dot product at? i get zero

i've never seen a way to divide vectors, so i don't know how. if i treat everything like variables, then t=(x-m)/n

so, just use dot if there is a dot and cross if there is an x and don't worry about it?

for start, less gravity. different nutrients in the soil(unless you bring some from earth).......

so, projection is the part of a vector(like splitting into x and y) in the direction of another? when doing physics problems, we often use Fcos(theta) to find the force in the x direction. this is a projection of F on the x-axis, right?
