chances are you HAVE some malicious software. one program won't get everything. i can't really answer your question, because i have never heard of zonealarm.

afaik, it would make it much safer for you to use the internet (especially the if you download a firewall). even if you got a virus, it wouldn't be able to do much unless it had root access. there are plenty of games for Linux and several programs designed to let you play windows games on a linux os.
