Caffeine is dangerous if it crosses the limits. If not, it helps the body. I think the physician would be able to personally guide on the quantity of caffeine that is recommended.

Bio-medical engineering includes genetic therapy.. so its a cool thing. It is biology, it has a little bit of maths. Genetic therapy and dealing with genes (clones) etc. is systemic. Basically, you would be modifying humans genetically to cure diseases but you wont do it on live patients but you would research on animals and then doctors would perform it.

A mutation can cause such a type of change (tremendously rare) but the baby won't survive.. In future, yeah, it maybe possible.

An environmental factor can cause a mutation in a gene ex: a viral infection or exposure to radiation and maybe that is why you have got a different gene as compared to your parents.

All chromosomes are present in all cells of the body. So the skin cells have the same chromosomes as the nerve cells. The expression of genes (to produce proteins) varies among cells. Comparing nerve cells and skin cells, if a part of one chromosome is expressed in skin cells, it may not be expressed in nerve cells but I think all chromosomes are required for every cell. We cannot pin-point a particular chromosome for a particular organ or system.

Telomere length varies among species but not within a species. It also varies with chromosome. So Chromosome 1 of humans will have the same telomere length in all humans but it is different to Chromosome 2.
