  1. Is ethanoic acid considered as ions in reactions?

    pH

As the pH value of a particular solution varies with its concentration, at what concentration it is usually taken?

    pH

Thank you. I want to ask one more question. In which concentration, pH value is taken for a particular acid?

    pH

I have learnt something about pH value and wanna get some more of it. Anyone helps? 1.What does pH value refer to? a. Amount of hydronium ions ionized by the acid per mole b. Amount of hydronium ions ionized by the acid in the solution c.Concentration of hydronium ions ionized by the acid molecule. ( Total amount of H3O+ ions/Total amount of molecules) 2. Will the concentration of an acid affect its pH value? 3. Will the molarity of an acid affect its pH value? If not, why we need to measure the pH value of ethanic acid and hydrochloric acid by means of electricity in the SAME MOLARLITY?
  5. First, find k , then factorize the given expression by (x+1). m then is revealed. If find x^3 in terms of y, then just simply find x^2 and x. Sorry, I don't understand the third one.
  6. human, you can't say that the method is not good. Every method to solve a simple question requires more or less the same time.
  7. Thank you.

    Element

    Anyone has read "elements" before?

  11. Sometimes, when my eyes are tired, I prefer not to have any short-sight at the moment. Everyday, that doesn't matter me a lot unless I want to play football.
  12. If an apple falls from a tree and hit the earth. Is the weight considered as external force? Also, when they are in contact and starts to collide, the apple or the earth is back, in other words, the distance after impact is larger than that when it is at the moment of impact. However, the earth would have a force that pulling the apple coming towards it again after impact, and the velocity then is affected from the law of conservation of momentum and thus I consider weight is an external force, isn't it? Any advice is treasure
  13. In collision, law of conservation of momentum is applied only if no external force is added. Is weight considered as an external force? I think so. Anyone tell me ?
  14. How can we numerically show that it is an inelastic collision?
  15. Why does a hydroxide ion from ammonia solution displaces or be displaced by the anion of the metal compound put in the solution?
  16. Which of the following solution has a stronger power to destroy things? A drop of solution with pH 1, A beaker of solution with pH 3. If both of them are put onto your skin, please think of the result after 2 days. Neglect evaporation.
  17. Some ammonia gases are trapped and stay as gas between water molecules and some decompose?
  18. Ok. Zinc hydroxide precipitate redissolve in excess ammonia solution while lead, potassium do not, why?
  19. Several questions related to alkalis. 1.Are all reactions between metal compounds and alkalis, and between metal compounds and acid displacement reactions? I think this is quite important as it helps very much to predict the product of these reactions. 2.Ammonia solution added into solution of metal salt always gives out ammonia? 3.Calcium hydroxide formed when sodium hydroxide added to a solution of calcium nitrates. Is the result(forming hydroxide) the same if calcium, magnesium are put in? Or even hydrogencarbonates of these metals. 4.adding excess ammonia can turn solution of hydroxide(precipitate) into some complex ions. Why the series do not follow the reactivity series? Hydroxide of calcium, magnesium, lead cannot redissolve again while zinc hydroxide can, why? Thanks for any responses.
  20. calcium is commonly used to neutralize the acid in a river, right? Is it better than calcium carbonate in this case?
  21. Isn't the amount of hydronium cation absorbed the same for both?
  22. In a farm land, we add ammonium sulphate to lower the alkaline of the soil. What's the reaction? Ammonia and sulphate ion and hydrogen ions? and to reduce the acidity, we add some calcium oxide, quicklime, why not add some calcium hydroxide, slaked lime?
  23. Must be occured in solutions? I am not sure about the ionic equation. Can an ionic equation be written out if the reactants are solid and products are ions?
  24. What is the definition of a displacement reaction? In aqeuous solution? Moreover, sulphur dioxide dissolve in water to give out hydrogen ions and sulphate ions? And, what is the reaction for a concentrated nitric acid reacts with a metal or a carbonates or hydrogencarbonates?
