  1. Personally I cannot see any point in putting Rossi and his team to shame, just yet. If there is a secret catalyst that causes a fusion reaction to take place between nickel and hydrogen then yippee. If Rossi has found it and noone else has then good for him. If it works, and we will all know soon enough, then I think the more important topic is, what are we going to do when the global economy goes to shit!!!
  2. You should bend the pipe before you cut it, or the cut will deform. Heat the pipe not the spring..
  3. Thanks for the feedback guys! It has helped. I think I might use three 15 ton hydraulic rams to force the 11 punch dies through the material at once. The 3.7m is the length of the armature the 11 punch dies are attached too. If I spread the load evenly across the armature I think I should be able to punch the holes in one downward motion. Thanks heaps!!
  4. I hate the way a good story, with a good moral backbone, has brainwashed the world, into thinking that everything we know on this planet, and in this known universe was created in 6 days!! I hate the fact that it's not butter!! I love butter!! I hate paying taxes on everything!! I hate that my grammar sucks it makes me sound stupid.
  5. The way I always saw light, was that it is a wave that excites particles in what ever medium it is traveling through. The frequency of light is was what determined the distance it would travel or the influence it has on the excitement of the particles in that medium. Light being a particle and a wave. I figured that light was just a wave, the particle side of it, was actually particles being manipulated in the medium by that wave. Due to like particles liking each other so much, that was how gravity effected light. Because gravity effects particles in the light traveling medium the wave distortion was therefore due to the excited particles moving under the force of a given gravity. So basically the light wave isn't being moved, but the excited particles by that wave are!!
  6. Put a spring the same size as the internal diameter of the pipe. Heat it slightly with a heat gun and you will be able to bend PVC to any angle or distortion you would like. For a complete circle or very large bends you must gradually bend along the pipe so the outside walls don't get too thin. I used to bend PVC conduit up to 150mm in diameter all the time. Take it slow and don't burn it or it'll become too brittle and lose it's strength.
  7. I have Worked out the force needed to punch one hole in 6061 aluminum 3mm thick. Now I need to know what force is required to punch 11 holes spaced 300mm apart in a single length of the same product at once with a single rail holding the 11 hole punches?? I am not a student it is not homework!! I'm sure that over distance and the number of holes, would increase the force required, but by how much I am unsure. The hole punch required is a 4.7 ton hydraulic hole punch. Would three spaced out evenly over a distance of 3.7m give me enough force to punch the 11 hole simultaneously. Anyone got any ideas or tip on how to work it out let me know please. Thanks
  8. Hi everyone, I'm Erb.. Been out of the physics game for a long time. Used to study astrophysics but couldn't stand the classroom. Now I'm an electrician, not a normal one though, and I get to play with some pretty powerful machinery and design new parts almost everyday!! Once in a while I might pick your genius brains if that's ok, seeing how I've forgotten most of what I did 10 years ago.. Anyway....... hey hey!!!
