  1. It's really the only logical step forward for Hillary now that she's essentially lost...

  3. Ha I get it now
  4. Ah okay, then Halo should most definitely be rated T. No more.
  5. Yes, but it's too general. General Attitude, about what? Overall? Overall rating? Overall fun? Overall ....?
  6. I still don't understand why a general attitude should matter. Who really cares whether or not people like it. It doesn't really make sense... Halo CE- about 38.
  7. Maturity should also be a fairly important factor, and by maturity I also mean a sort impartial attitude. Just because I like Half-Life 2...a lot... doesn't mean I'll give it a lower rating. It deserves the M rating completely. Gamers should be able to rate a game fairly, their own opinion shouldn't be considered at all.
  8. Is it from Calvin & Hobbes? It looks awfully familiar...time to look through the several C&H collections buried under the rest of my books...
  9. I don't think that there's really one specific set of rules for buying a computer. It all really depends on what sort of work you will be using it for: Word processing, programming, gaming, go with a PC. Graphic design, Macs have a disgusting advantage. As for RAM and CPU, it depends what programs you're running, and how many you're running. For graphics, it depends on what you need it for: Design (openGL), gaming (accellerator). It isn't set in stone. Well, unless you're buying a mac, because then the words "Prepare for the Horror" are roughly hewn into living rock.
  10. It doesn't really matter about which one is better, it just makes sense to port the OS that is most commonly used.
  11. Not particularly? I've never worn one, personally, though I imagine them to be rather heavy, and...cold... Do you?
  12. The world is a very ironic place... I really don't think that parents should have an input on how a game is rated, they don't play them, they don't know for sure the psychological effects it has on a child. I'm not saying that they should be rated by kids, because we all know how that would end (mahunt-E, half-life 2-E, GTA-E), but real gamers (mature ones) should use the point system that we've developed to accurately rate games.
  13. So? Who cares what the parents think?
  14. I've also heard Linux is much more efficient, but as I said before it's mostly for programming and such.
  15. Thanks Klaynos. I think that if you want a computer for just general work XP would be okay, but if you want to do more programming-oriented work Ubuntu is perfect. I think they do sell them, though 2 gb of RAM is a little overkill for just word-processing. !.5, should be just right.
  16. Donut is correct on most things, though you should get a PC with either AGP, or Pci-express. PCI sucks. For software, you'll also probably want Spybot S&D, and perhaps a Firewall.
  17. My first time quoted in this thread, and I'm already talking about beating people with bowling pins... Not to mention involved in the malicious insulting of creationist 'doctors'. Harsh, but fair.
  18. I read that article this morning, I thought it was rather interesting.
  19. My school made the unfortunate decision of arming itself with a disturbingly massive arsenal of Macs, and the issues I face can be summed up in a short list: -Unstable -In-efficient -Slow -Endless errors -Unnecessary 'user-friendly' functions that slow everything down -All eye-candy on the exterior, cleverly concealing the piece of **** underneath. Is that enough? I almost failed a project because the Mac I was using at school failed to print a paper, instead, opting to open a series of web pages saying "Get a Mac!" I don't mean to be rude, merely to express my hatred for mAcs
  20. Klaynos, do you really want computers ruined for kids at that early an age?
  21. Damn MicroSoft. I think linux would've been a much better idea, you know, to get kids into a less main-stream OS....actually, now that I think about it, it would be a better idea to give them a computer with a more common OS, so they can use most of the computers around right now, since the majority employ XP.
  22. If it's for graphic design, as much as I hate to say it: get a Mac. Though it has to be a good one. at least 2 gb RAM, and a dual core. Although I hate macs. I don't quit understand the previous exchange between you and ecoli. This thread isn't for you?
  23. Really, I don't think the OS matters all that much...maybe they should port Ubuntu or something so that MS doesn't have a chance to 'enslave' any more people. That last line is...really sad...
  24. I had nothing to do for four hours! Four hours! What else am I supposed to do on Friday nights?!
