  1. Thank you "The Man Who Wasn't There"!
  2. Uncertainty principle? Like "The more we look, the less we know"?
  3. Right.
  4. Hmmm...I suppose I was wrong on that one, good catch Klaynos & insane_alien.
  5. Elegant Universe was high quality. I'm actually starting the Fabric of the Cosmos by the same author
  6. I can't agree with you there, and...and you sound like a conspiracy theorist! I think there is a correlation, though the person is a very large factor. Also, it's not very consistent so that a pattern is instantaneously noticeable You use 'Teh' a tad to much...
  7. Ah thanks, that will come in handy. In Half-Life 2, I heard there were some glitchy cut-scenes (especially the g-man ones), is this true?
  8. I don't think so, though I can't really remember either...how embarrassing...
  9. Yes it is. Haemoglobin (sorry, misspelled it the first time) has large quantities iron, thus making it veeery magnetic. A strong enough magnet could literally rip it out of your bloodstream, thus...pain.
  10. I think this all has to do with the magnet strength. For example, if they were extremely powerful magnets, it would rip the hemoglobin right out of your bloodstream, which is quite...unpleasant.
  11. I agree, I was playing the Bioshock at a friend's house a few days ago, and I kept yelling "Goddamn Splicers!", of course that was just the mildest of which.
  12. I know it 'holds water', I did say it!
  13. Yes, I am absolutely positive. I have a fast computer with decent memory, and everything else runs fine. It's just the graphics card, I can't play anything with it! Do you have any ideas? I don't really want to pay that much money, and there's only a few games (BioShock, HL 2) that I want to play.
  14. Thanks for the advice, but will it run the games I want to run? I know Half-Life 2 isn't too demanding, but the BioShock demo is quite...impressive. Uh...my computer is being...my computer, and I can't seem to find a link to the card, would you mind posting the link? thanks
  15. I'm pretty sure I have an agp (according to my friend), though I'm not sure about the other part.
  16. Thanks for the links, I started listening to the first one, which was very interesting, but unfortunately I don't have time right now (Essays...lots), when I listen to them I'll reply back on this thread.
  17. I agree, it's very welcoming... if that makes sense, though knowing me, it probably doesn't.
  18. You're really just rephrasing what I said...a.k.a. you're uh...sorta strawmanning. Anyway, that's exactly what I just said, it depends on whether the person who either plays the game, joins the religion, drinks, etc, etc, is easily impressible. At one point I played Half-Life and Halo a lot. A LOT. Both are very violent games, and they haven't really made an impression on me, I have gotten a little more insane, but I think that's just my slow descent into madness that started way back in the third grade.
  19. So far nothing...
  20. Right, a lot of it has to do with the person who is playing. I for example, enjoy the occasional smashing of zombie heads with a crowbar, though I don't consider myself to be a remotely violent person. What games exactly? Manhunt?
  21. Ah okay, I was thinking something like that, but for some reason I was drawing a blank. Thanks
  22. How exactly did you work it out? I'm curious I don't think you were supposed to lift it, err, well, see the science breaks down as the book reaches the end, though it was entertaining.
  23. Hi there, I've recently taken to looking for a new graphics card, mostly because my graphics card is...well, let's put it this way: I have to play Halo 1 on low. I'm a little tired of all my friends making fun of me for having a terrible graphics card, and not to mention I want to play some serious games. Can someone help me? I'm thinking of getting a Radeon, or NVIDIA. My price range is around 60 dollars, I can't really spend anymore, thanks to a lightsabre related science project that cut me down from what I've been saving up. Here are some of the games I want to play Half-Life 2 Half-Life 2: episode 1, episode 2 Half-Life 2: Lost Coast BioShock (at least the demo) And for now, that's about it. I've looked around a bit, but I'm not really as computer-savvy as my friends, that is, I can't really tell the difference between some cards, that are supposedly "totally different, man". Thanks in advance.
