  1. I believe that he is right, although there are many good arguments against him. Scientists have however, found that some of the units in the book were wrong, and over exaggerated to add to the whole 'fear factor' of the movie. I thought that it was great that Gore was trying to get Global Warming out and all, but he needs to tone down the whole theme of horror. A common argument for non-believers is that humans occupy less than 1% of the land on Earth, and that we couldn't cause that much damage to the atmosphere. Another common argument is that we're just part of a natural cycle. Really, I think there's solid evidence on both sides, though I'm going to have to side against the nonbelievers on this one. By the way, Donut, I like the new G-Man icon
  2. Don't they all need to have slightly solid cores? Otherwise Jupiter would be...a gas cloud instead of gas giant
  3. Haha that made my day
  4. Whoops, sorry... what do you mean 'stop contradicting the old guy', this is one time I made a mistake...
  5. It's not continuously expanding at the speed of light, it may have at one point, but there's really no way of knowing.
  6. classic iNow
  7. Think about it in terms of real life, wouldn't it be sort of distracting? There's really no way to re-create the FPS HUD, in the same way it's done in say, Halo, or Half-Life
  8. We've basically talked about that, the current disagreement is whether or not it would be distracting...
  9. Everything would change, the temperature would increase rapidly, all sort of chaos. The idea is explored in 2010: Odyssey Two, by Arthur C. Clarke. We most likely would cease to have night, the temperature would go up about 10 degrees (just a guess). Unfortunately, Jupiter's mass doesn't really matter, it's more of the density as far as I know.
  10. It's not incredibly difficult to aquire. Search around, I'm sure some store near you may have some.
  11. I can't tell if you're mocking me or not, but oh well haha
  12. What you're talking about is on a much larger scale than what we're discussing though.
  13. Do you have electrolyte paste?
  14. And even if they did, does it really matter? Animals and plants can and DO inflict pain on us all the time, Eating them is just our little way of getting back at them. Okay, maybe that wasn't the best way of putting it, but you know what I mean.
  15. That was another thought that I had, that maybe violent movies affect kids more than video games, because in video games you get to take out your frustration on what ever n00b zombie that walks into you, but if you're watching a movie, you can only watch. Although I do read very violent books sometimes (Stephen King), I'm not all that violent.
  16. Personally, I think that the post in which crime rate went down with rise of video games is correct, but that's just my opinion. From my limited observations, that one seems to be the most true.
  17. FROZEN NITROGEN! Nah, that's probably a bad idea, but the idea about putting it on solid surfaces isn't working?
  18. Advertising isn't really...what this thread is about....
  19. First, strings ARE energy, they are a representation of it. Second, strings don't vibrate they way you think they do when they are 11 dimensional.
  20. Well, I think that just about ends this conversation, Finally someone brought in statistics!
  21. Okay then, you're right, what do you think? It's not really a genetic program though
  22. Sounds more like a biological program to me, but I might be wrong.
